1 Microsoft Office 365 for Students Service Information Description: Southern Crescent Technical College (SCTC) provides all students with cloud hosted Exchange accounts, as well as latest versions of the Microsoft Office Suite via Microsoft s Office 365 ProPLus subscription service plan. The office suite can be accessed online or downloaded to your computer. Quick Access: Available to: This service is available to all currently registered students. Once you have not attended school for two semesters, your account will be deactivated. Benefits and Features: The Microsoft Office 365 plan provides students with Office Online, which includes Outlook.com, a cloudhosted Exchange account. Through the Office 365 ProPlus program, students also have the added advantage of accessing lightweight, web browser versions of MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and OneNote, as well as social media integration. Office applications installed through this program remain activated as long as a student remains eligible. When the student graduates, or leaves the university, the subscription will expire. Features also include: Access to a full version of Office that can be installed on up to five computers. Access to ios and Android Office apps that can be installed on up to five mobile devices. Access to Office Online. File storage and sharing with 1 TB storage/user. Requirements: The user must have local administrator privileges on the computer to install the software. Students must connect any device with Office 365 ProPlus to the Internet at least once every 30 days for an automatic license re-activation. This will bring up the cloud apps view, click on the app you wish to use. How to Forward Office 365 to a Personal Account 2. At the login page, in the field that states someone@stu.sctech.edu, enter only your_sctc username@stu.sctech.edu for the login account. 4. While viewing your inbox, click on the settings icon and then select Options 5. On the left hand side, select Mail > Accounts > Forwarding

4 6. Select Start forwarding, enter the address you want, set or clear the Keep a copy of forwarded messages in Outlook Web App check box, and then select Save. Accessing your student via the Microsoft Outlook app on ios or Android. Follow these steps to set up Microsoft Outlook on your ios or Android device. Microsoft Outlook for ios requires ios 8.0 or higher. App availability varies by country so find out what's available in your country. If the app is incompatible with your device, try adding your mail account using the built-in mail app that comes with your device. 1. Download the Microsoft Outlook app from the Apple Store if you haven't installed it yet. (search for "Microsoft Outlook") 2. If you already have it installed, open it, then tap Settings > ADD AN ACCOUNT. 3. Tap Office 365.

5 4. In the first field ( or phone), type only your full SCTC Student address, for example 5. Enter your password 6. Click Sign in and you will be redirected to your Inbox. Setting up the Built-in Mail on Your ios Device Please note that there are various ios operating systems, so the steps for your device may be slightly different. 1. Tap Settings. 2. Scroll down and tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars. 3. Tap Add Account. 4. Tap Exchange. 5. In the field, enter your Tufts address. Typically, this will be such as 6. In the Password field, enter your Student Password. The Description field fills in automatically (Exchange). 7. Tap Next. Your account will be verified. 8. Click save and open the Mail app to view your inbox.

6 Setting up the Built-in Mail on Your Android Device Please note that there are various Android operating systems (Jelly Bean, KitKat, Lollipop, etc.), so the steps for your device may be slightly different. 1. Tap Settings > Accounts > Add Account > In the address field, enter your Tufts address. Typically, this will be such as 3. In the Password field, enter your Tufts Password. 4. Tap Next. 5. Select the Exchange option. 6. If you see a message about additional security features, tap OK to continue. 7. Once the device verifies the server settings, the Account Options page opens. On the Set up page you can change the name of your account. When you're finished tap Done.
