Career Workshop and Internships We have a dedicated career workshop support team to assist students in finding internships and practical experience. Mentoring Our mentoring service is part of our goal to give students the real link in a business school between the academic and professional worlds, by having a personal mentor shadow them throughout their research projects in the latter stages of the degree. Languages Most of the courses at GBS are taught in English and prepare students for success in an international company or a bank. Other languages such as French, German or Chinese are also taught at GBS. Furthermore, the school prepares students for language diplomas. Accommodation The University provides accommodation to its students. Studios or apartments of various sizes can be rented. Most of the flats are situated within walking distance or a short bus/tram ride from the University. Location of the campus The campus of the University is located close to all facilities and amenities. The objective of this program is to educate candidates with the specifics of digital communications and to familiarize them with the different tools. It has gained credibility and has spread worldwide and is the preferred way of banking for one fifth of the world s population. Master in Islamic Finance (MSc. IF) is a comprehensive post graduate program for people who are seeking a detailed understanding of the concepts and mechanisms of Islamic Finance. The program is structured and designed to offer an overall understanding of the theories and principles of banking and Islamic Finance in a current context. 17 17 Doctorate in Business Administration The DBA (Doctor of Business Administration) is the most common type of professional doctorate degree and is offered by GBS to students who have already gained a vast amount of knowledge in 1 or more of the 3 fields mentioned below. It allows students to carry out extensive research and to acquire competency as an independent researcher; to design and conduct research and to disseminate the outcomes to others in the related field. A candidate for the DBA program must have excellent results from their Masters degree in Finance or Management with an average GPA of (5.0 out of 6.0) from GBS or from an alternative accredited university.the DBA is oriented research and the applicant will be advised by a supervisor who will help in achieving his research papers. Specialisation International Finance Strategic Management Strategic Marketing Program Schedule The average duration of the DBA program varies between 3 and 5 years. A minimum of 3 major publications are required and will be assessed by the heads of the 3 centers and the panel of judges. After completion of these major publications, the student must also defend his reports in front of a panel of judges. Following this, the successful student will be awarded the DBA from GBS. 18 18 CFA Exams Preparation Geneva Business School (GBS) with its partner «Institut de Formation de Gestionnaire de Patrimoine» (IFGP) has already prepared candidates for CFA Exams for over 12 years. Our mission is to provide CFA candidates with a broad array of training of the highest quality. We utilize our renowned trainer and staff resources to produce the most effective, relevant, concise, comprehensive study materials and training session on the market. We propose an innovative, adequate and interactive academic approach with a small number of students per classes (less than 16) and study material composed by professionals, specially dedicated for the CFA exams preparation. CFA Program Content The duration for the course preparation is six and a half months from October to May. The courses are structured according to a four step approach: Step 1 (Preparation) is designed to help establish a sound foundation before the beginning of the formal study (Pre-CFA); From: October to December. 5 Saturday morning Step 2 (Repetition) is based on the comprehension of the Learning Outcome Statements (LOS); From: January to March every Tuesday, Thursday evening and Saturday morning. Step 3 (Exam preparation) contains a review of critical topics using old exam questions and new questions compiled by professional s material; From March to May every Tuesday, Thursday evening and Saturday morning. Step 4 (Self review) is the Self study which is the most personal and final step to succeed the CFA exams.
