2 Itinerary Bilingual tour escort (who accompanies the group throughout Italy) with local English guides Day 1 Friday, October 14 th DEPARTURE FROM MONTREAL - FLIGHT TO VENICE Early evening departure from Montreal to Venice via Toronto with Air Canada. Day 2 Saturday, October 15 th VENICE - PADUA At Venice airport, you will be met by your bilingual guide and taken by air-conditioned coach to your hotel in Padua (48 km). Mass at the famous Franciscan Basilica of St. Anthony (Saint who helps us find lost articles, Protector of the Innocent) with a guided tour of the basilica. We will meditate on God s mercy through St. Anthony s eyes. Leisure time and overnight in Padua. Day 3 Sunday, October 16 th VENICE Drive from Padua to Venice (48 km). This day in exotic Venice will cover a visit of Piazza San Marco, one of the most popular piazzas of Italy. Visit Doge s Palace and the Basilica of San Marco which contains the relics of St. Mark the Evangelist. Sunday mass during the day. Meditate on Mark 10: 46-52, Mark 5:1-20; revealing the mercy of Jesus. Take in the canals and bridges of Venice (like the Rialto Bridge and the Bridge of Sighs). Visit a famous Murano glass factory close to the Piazza San Marco. Return to for overnight in Padua. Day 4 Monday, October 17 th BOLOGNA - ASSISI Drive from Padua to Bologna (114 km). Bologna is well-known for its cultural and artistic life. Our morning stop in Bologna will include a visit to San Petronio Basilica and Piazza Maggiore. Mass during the day. In the afternoon, we drive from Bologna to peaceful Assisi (275 km) to experience the city of St. Francis and St. Claire. Overnight in Assisi. Day 5 Tuesday, October 18 th ASSISI Entire day in Assisi to experience the peace, tranquility and sanctity of this city made famous by St Francis (our Pope takes his papal name after St. Francis of Assisi). Divine Mercy was a central theme for St. Francis. Mass in one of the many churches we will visit during the day: the Basilica of San Francesco d Assisi, Santa Maria Maggiore, Basilica of Santa Chiara (St. Claire), Basilica of Santa Maria Degli Angeli (St. Mary of the Angels) which houses the Porziuncola, Church of San Pietro and the Church of San Damiano. Overnight in Assisi. Day 6 Wednesday, October 19 th CASCIA - LANCIANO Travel from Assisi to Cascia (90 km), city of St. Rita (Saint for Hopeless Cases) where we will visit the Basilica of St. Rita. This amazing saint, like St. Padre Pio, was given the gift of the stigmata. She showed great zeal to bring about reconciliation between enemies through mercy and forgiveness. From Cascia, we go to Lanciano (260 km) where we will celebrate mass at the Sanctuary in Lanciano which is the site of one of the best-known Eucharistic miracles. Overnight in Lanciano. Day 7 Thursday, October 20 th SAN GIOVANNI Travel form Lanciano to San Giovanni Rotondo (155 km), the city of St. Padre Pio of Pietrelcina, (Saint who offered his own suffering for others). Mass at the Sanctuary of Santa Maria delle Gracie (St. Pio of Pietrelcina). Continue visit to Via Crucis Monumentale and then drive to the Sanctuary of St. Michael the Archangel (28 km). Return for overnight in Lanciano. Day 8 Friday, October 21 st BAROQUE ROME Drive and arrive in the eternal city of Rome (240 km), where we will spend the rest of our pilgrimage basking in the graces of this Jubilee Year of Mercy. In the afternoon, we visit Baroque Rome, including Piazza di Spagna and its famous Spanish steps, Piazza del Popolo, Trevi Fountain and Navonna Square, one of Rome s most famous piazzas. Mass during the day. Overnight in Rome.

3 Itinerary Day 9 Saturday, October 22 nd ANCIENT ROME & CATACOMBS During the morning, we will get a glimpse of ancient Rome from the Coliseum to Palatine Hill, covering the Roman Forum, Temple of Romulus, the famous Coliseum, the arches of Titus and Constantine. In the afternoon, we drive along the Appian Way and visit the Catacombs of St. Callixtus, where early martyrs and Christians were buried in secret. Mass during the day. We end the day with a visit to the Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls which is dedicated to St. Paul and is one of the four great basilicas of Rome. Overnight in Rome. Day 10 Sunday, October 23 rd ANGELUS & CHRISTIAN ROME This morning, we will attend the noon Angelus at St. Peter s Square, Vatican City. Possibility to attend Sunday mass at the church of Santa Maria de Transpontina before heading to St. Peter s Square. Afterwards, guided tour of Christian Rome, including passing through the Holy Doors in St. Peter s Basilica and visiting the Basilica of St-John Lateran, considered the mother of all Roman churches and all churches worldwide. We will also visit the Basilica of St-Mary Major, the most important Roman Church dedicated to the Virgin Mary, and the Basilica of the Holy Cross in Jerusalem, which contains relics from the Holy Land. Overnight in Rome. Day 11 Monday, October 24 th VATICAN We will spend the morning in Vatican City to discover or rediscover St. Peter s Basilica, the greatest of all churches of Christendom and visit the tomb of St. Peter. We will continue our visit to the Vatican Museums where the Sistine Chapel and Michelangelo s masterpieces can be seen. End the day with a last stroll and shopping in the eternal city. Overnight in Rome. Day 12 Tuesday, October 25 th After breakfast, transfer to Rome airport for the return flight to Montreal. 8 General conditions Reservations & Payments A deposit of $ CAD is required along with your signed registration form. Include an additional amount equal to travel insurance, if required. Money orders, credit cards (except for American Express) and personal cheques (Canada only) are payable to Spiritours. The balance is due no less than 90 days before departure (unless specified differently in the itinerary) the tour operator reserves the right to cancel your booking if payments are late. The following cancellation charges will apply. Cancellation Charges If you have to cancel, please notify us immediately. Cancellation penalty charges will apply based on the date the tour operator receives notice of cancellation as follows: Up to 90 days prior to departure: $500. Less than 90 days prior to departure: 100% Non-refundable Changes: up to $300 fee for any change of the passenger s name. Less than 60 days prior to departure, any change will be considered as a cancellation and the fees mentioned above will apply. Spiritours reserves the right to cancel a tour if the minimum number of participants is not reached by the deadline or to change the dates if deemed necessary. In case of a cancellation called by Spiritours, the full amount paid for the tour will be reimbursed and this will represent the final settlement towards the client. Spiritours will not be required to intervene when a problem occurs between the authorities of a country and a member of the group if he would not comply with the laws, customs, rules and traditions of the host country. Insurance We suggest that you take a trip cancellation or interruption insurance in case of sickness, hospitalization, death of the covered person or person s family members, disaster (fire, flood, etc.), loss of employment or any other major reasons. The cost for the insurance is nonrefundable. It is the client s responsibility to read and understand the conditions, policies, and exclusions of the aforementioned insurance. Claims You are required to inform, as soon as possible, the representative of Spiritours of any eventual claim. Abroad, you must immediately advise the guide or the Hotel Manager so that the appropriate steps are taken. Prices Unless otherwise specified, all prices are in Canadian dollars. Prices include GST / QST, airport taxes, fees and Compensation fund for customers of travel agents ($ 1.00 per $ 1,000). Costs are dependent on fuel price, rates of exchange, taxation and other factors. Should these costs increase, the Tour Operator reserves the right to increase the price up to 30 days prior to departure, according to the law. Tour Operator s Responsibility Spiritours can t be held responsible for the acts, omissions, errors, losses, damages or accidents during the trip, as well as delays or cancellations due to a transportation company. Spiritours can t be held liable for any damage suffered by the traveler for illness, injury, loss, inconvenience or anxiety. Spiritours also disclaims any liability for any damage resulting from a governmental act, political unrest, strikes, incidental acts. Spiritours will not reimburse any amount to the participants due to a premature return or any unused services. Spiritours responsibility for a failure to provide a service or benefit described in this document is limited to the cost of such service or benefit. Compliance The client waives any claim against the Tour Operator for loss, damages or injury for any reason or by any result of the rendering of any of the services included. The client agrees to comply with any reasonable instructions issued by the Tour Operator or its representative relating to the tour. In the case a passenger has a detrimental behavior towards other passengers or the suppliers and who persists in his behavior despite a formal notice from the supplier or one of his representatives, the passenger will be expelled from the group and will have to assume all extra fees related to his behavior such as lodging, food and transportation. The traveler is responsible to get the information on entry requirements of the country he plans to visit, take the necessary steps to obtain the required documents and pay the corresponding fees. In the event that the passenger does not possess the documentation required, the authorities reserve the right to refuse passage.
