1 Location and Accessibility 45 Pup lies within the Fortymile mining district of east central Alaska, 11 miles northwest of Chicken and is a 6 mile long creek flowing into Buckskin Creek which flows into the South Fork of the Fortymile River. The 45 Pup claims consist of 3 federal claims, 9 40-acre state claims and acre state claims. The claims start 1.5 miles up from the Buckskin confluence. The 45 Pup placer claims can be accessed by 4x4 roads from Chicken off the Taylor Highway. Placer gold claims in goldproducing Fortymile mining district, 11 miles from Chicken Price $695,000 In Fortymile mining district that has produced gold since 1886 Photo looking downstream (east) on 45 Pup with unworked federal claim in foreground and unworked Glacier Creek ground in center Gold-producing creek since the early 1900s Road accessible off the Taylor Highway via truck or 4-wheeler Virgin ground has been tested and based on current production results there is an estimated 2,500 troy oz. of gold Untested benches and tributaries Claims already permitted Equipment available for purchase to help start mining as soon as possible
2 Historical Work Upper 45 Pup has been hand worked since the late 1800 s. Pay gravel on 45 Pup was first recorded in In 1963 Fred Hapeman staked the creek and starting working it with heavy equipment. In the early 1980's the Hammonds purchased the claims and worked the creek till 2011 when they were purchased by Bronk Jorgensen. Jorgensen worked and produced gold on the creek for 2011 thru Gold Mining between 2011 and 2013 yielded pay that was very consistent and the cuts averaged 100 feet wide with a pay of $4.36 per square bedrock foot at $1320 gold. Gold ranged from fines to course with a few larger nuggets. The largest nugget during those three years was 1.1 troy oz. Test holes were dug with a Hitachi 200 excavator to the top of the claim block and colors were panned from every hole. Three sections of 45 Pup with virgin ground are being offered: - Glacier Creek area has approximately 1,000 linear feet of ground. Estimated gold 330 troy oz. - Federal claim Two Below has approximately 600 linear feet of ground. Estimated gold 200 troy oz. - Upper 45 Pup Claims have approximately 6,300 linear feet of ground. Estimated gold 2,090 troy oz. These estimates do not include bench pay and side tributaries. Example of the gold recovered on 45 Pup from
