5 Mainline Area Maintenance Located mainlines and cleared trees, brush, and stumps from: Hilltop Dr. to Georges Tank Stanislaus River Crossing to Winter Way, Pine Ave, and Wild Oats Trail Herring Creek Lane toward Hilltop Lane (through rock pile ) Dymond Tank to Old Strawberry Road Intake area from Hilltop Dr. toward Treatment Plant Improved ease of maintenance and ability to locate leaks Helps prevent future damage Clearing a path along Georges Tank Mainline Removed 6 truck loads of brush Removed 2 manzanita stumps which were pushing into the mainline Improved view from Georges Tank looking down at Hilltop Dr. Removing Brush. 5

6 Brush Clearing & Repairs to: Dymond Pump Station & Blockhouse Before After Continuing Treatment Plant Rust Eradication Before After Scraped, sanded, treated, and painted entire base perimeter of clarifier and the two pressure filters Rust eradication project to continue this year 6

7 Other Repairs & Improvements Installed a new Master Meter at Treatment Plant, including piping wiring Engineered and poured new thrust at Emergency Diversion Cleared and improved drainage perimeter around Georges Tank All repairs in the last 12 months were completed in-house by DOWC staff, instead of outside contractors Regular & Preventative Maintenance Keeping Herring Creek Intake clear, clean, and deep to capture maximum water 7-day-a-week effort through January managed to keep water in district Rotated monthly flushing of key mainlines at hydrants Field crew checking of meters, valves, etc. 7

8 More Ahead Field Crews continue to find unmapped valves, lines, and leaks, and work to repair or replace as much as possible, as well as map all findings Also working to cap off old non-used lines as they are found Continue with as many hydrant repairs and isolation valve installations as possible General Rate Case Public meeting to be held soon 8

In Progress Mainline Replacements Maximum of $500,000 New line will utilize streets and/or dedicated easements Dramatically reduces risk of break causing: Damage to property Potential contamination (in the event of a major mainline break) Increase to average bill of $

10 Capital Improvement Program Balance of Phase 2 Phase II Proposed Capital Improvement Projects Time frame Amount Priority 1 - Replacement of Georges Tank with Installation of Hydropneumatic Tank and Booster Pump at the Treatment Plant Install a foundation and hydropneumatic tank along with up-sized booster pumps, at the water treatment plant site. Priority 2 - Installation of Plant Automation (SCADA) System Additional Replacement of Mainlines & Hydrant Replacements/Repairs SCADA: Furnish & install basic monitoring/ communications equipment at water treatment plant to notify the operator of an alarm. Mainline replacements include: a) Old Strawberry Road from Tanager Drive to River Drive (IF not completed in current project) b) Robin Lane (IF not completed in current project) c) Remainder of Tanager Drive d) Wren Lane 4-5 Years $250, Years $200,000 TOTAL $450,000 10
