3 Joy Global's history in Elko Joy Global's sales and service center in Elko, Nevada, has the skilled employees and full suite of shop tools needed to tackle the most challenging repair and fabrication jobs. Operating in Elko since 1996, Joy Global's capabilities in the area have been growing for years, starting with a summer of 2000 move from a leased space to a custom-built facility on the west side of town. The improved space offered a full line of machine tooling, increased capacity to house inventory for customers' growing mine operations and enhanced the ability to repair major weldments. That space continued to grow in 2005, when Joy Global expanded to separate the machine shop from the welding area.
