If you are in the area of the office, please stop in and complete your enrollment form for this year. We need ALL leaders for to come by and fill out an application so if you have not done so please come by the County Extension Office. We look forward to a new, fun, productive year. If you have any friends or family who wish to join, please encourage them to come by and obtain an enrollment form. If you are interested in participating in the County Fashion Show please call the extension by January 10th. Entry Deadline January 31st and will be announced March 1st. 4 P A G E 4 Character Education Pillar Five, Caring Caring promotes the well- being of people and things in our actions as well as our feelings and treating people, as well as our animals, properly. 4-H members should consider how their actions affect others. In many cases, we should put others before ourselves. A caring 4-H member will also make sure their animals have a clean, dry place to stay. WE VE GOT YOUR BACK!!!! The Texas 4-H Healthy Lifestyles Community Service Project: 4-H Clubs & groups will collect gently used backpacks and purses, along with non-perishable food items and basic necessities (toiletries). Some good ideas on how to collect these items would be placing bins at schools, libraries, grocery stores, recreation centers, etc. The county collecting and distributing the most filled backpacks will be announced and honored at the 2011 Texas 4-H Roundup!!! Texas 4-H Natural Resources Program Is offering Shooting Sports Trainings This is for adults & youth assistants who want to participate and attend two day classes that prepare them for working with their local clubs. Registration for these trainings will take place via 4-H Connect. Volunteers must be enrolled for the current 4-H year and be up to date on their background checks. Youth who have reached age 14 by September 1 of the current 4- H year may enroll in a training as a your assistant. However, they must be accompanied by an adult leader who will serve as their sponsor at the training.
