1 HOUSE TOURS Tour a leek Apartment in London' Ma fair Dering Hall For the redesign of this two bedroom apartment on London's Grosvenor Square, interior designer Katharine Pooley used rich detail and unique finishes to create an elegant space perfectly fitting for one of the city's most exclusive neighborhoods. The home's entrance hall features a stunning light fixture of hand crafted porcelain leaves dipped in gold leaf. The metallic accent is picked up by the satin brass inlay of the surrounding doors, creating a band around the space and 1/11

2 providing additional decorative detail when the doors are closed. The drawing room is a luxurious space. Carefully chosen furniture pieces, layered accessories and beautiful cushions allow it to retain a formal feel even with the relaxed L shaped sofa, which was added to define the seating area. The coffee table is a bespoke piece inspired by Philippe Jean coffee tables from the 1970s. Pooley introduced inset glass to the top to give the table function while keeping clean edges and a gloss finish. 2/11

3 The drawing room and the dining room were designed to work in hand. The design team used a beautiful fabric paneled wall, feature mirror and architectural lighting in the dining room to balance the dark bookshelf and fireplace joinery in the seating area. The brass detailing on the large, bespoke mirror creates an elegant paneling that echoes the drawing room detail and creates harmony between the two spaces. The bespoke dining chairs were designed by Aiveen Daly with a unique V detail that lightens the large surface back of the chairs and allows one to see the beautifully dressed table from the seating area. 3/11

4 In the kitchen, a strong grained horizontal marble helps draw the eye and gives the perception of a larger space. Pooley chose a matte finish for the cabinetry to add a soft natural feel against the striking polished marble of the countertops. A pocket door keeps the apartment open and allows more natural light from the kitchen into the center of the apartment. The master bedroom incorporates both masculine and feminine style with strong lines and calm fabrics. A beautiful cashmere and fur throw, shagreen bedside tables and bespoke lamps designed by Pooley give a hint of luxury to the peaceful, 4/11

5 balanced space. The master bathroom features moonrock and luna mexa marble, which has a beautiful navy blue grain that brings in the coloring from the master bedroom. The shower area is enclosed to allow for steam and aromatherapy technology. 5/11

6 The guest bedroom is a small space that requires two single beds. The design team resisted the approach typical of small spaces neutral, plain design and chose a bold, elegant look that is in keeping with the rest of the apartment. Intricate geometric patterning in the joinery and headboards, which were crafted by Aiveen Daly, ensures that the focus is not on the small floor template.
