3 Spirit Inspiring the Welcome to St. Elizabeth High School Now in our eighth decade, St. Elizabeth is a 21st century school that is rooted in faith and in touch with technology, a community striving for and achieving academic excellence in facilities that transform and adapt to meet the need of its students to explore, create, and discover. St. E provides a nurturing atmosphere of acceptance, support, and encouragement that affords students a multitude of opportunities to engage and collaborate in a disciplined, safe, and secure environment. Situated on two city blocks amidst a lovely landscape, our campus includes the main school building traditional on the outside but transformative on the inside, the St. E Center the newest addition, and St. Elizabeth Church making St. E the only high school in the Diocese of Wilmington with instant accessibility to the support and services of a parish community.

4 A Knowledge Quest for Academics The rigorous college preparatory curriculum offered by St. Elizabeth is fueled by the curiosity and engagement of our students, together with inspiring leadership from our accomplished faculty themselves models of life-long learning. Rooted in a traditional liberal arts curriculum energized by cutting-edge technological initiatives, the school produces graduates who are exposed to the essential questions of life and to the 21st century themes of global awareness financial, economic, business, and entrepreneurial skills; civic literacy; healthy living; and environmental stewardship.

5 Upon graduation, St. E students are skilled in the art of presentation, research, and collaboration. This contemporary curriculum integrates Christian values, exemplifies current instructional strategies, and incorporates digital and media literacy into classrooms across the campus. It encourages innovation, adaptability, and articulation and empowers students to become responsible contributors to the global community. And now with St. E s partnership in The Virtual High School (VHS), students can choose from a wide variety of St. E-approved electives offered through online classrooms thus allowing them to delve deeper into areas of interest or to start exploring courses related to specific college majors. The rigor of the curriculum has served St. E students well. On average, 96% of graduates pursue college degrees with scholarship awards exceeding $5 million annually.

6 Opportunities Creative to be Performing and Visual Arts A dedicated art studio and the Benedictine Performing Arts Center provide St. Elizabeth students venues in which to identify and develop their skills in the arts. Exposure to the elements of art and design; exploration of various media via drawing, painting, printmaking, pottery, and sculpture; and fluency in digital technology and media allow students to experience visual art in the world around them. On the performing arts side, chorus, an essential experience for all students, provides numerous opportunities for involvement in both a classroom and performance setting. The drama elective develops dramatic expression in a workshop-style, performance-oriented class that also involves original play writing and the performance of Shakespearean works. Opportunities abound for the entire student body through involvement in the fall revue, Christmas talent show, and spring musical.

7 Faith A Community Joined in Spirituality Rooted in the Benedictine tradition that a balance of prayer and work is essential for stability and community, spirituality is a crucial component of daily life at St. E. Beginning each day with morning prayer and celebrated by events of worship, events of service, and events of intellectual pursuit, the spiritual life of the school is a rich one. Hospitality, fostered by the student ambassador program and campus ministry, provide welcome and empowerment. Students of all religions are welcomed and encouraged to embrace and celebrate St. E values and traditions.

9 Athletics and Co-Curricular Activities Viking Pride energizes the student body and their passionate Viking fans. In an atmosphere where everyone may participate, hundreds of students do just that each year in the 19 sports fielded by the school. Just as in the classroom, students are encouraged to excel and achieve. Dedicated coaches known for winning programs, combined with the top notch facilities of the St. E Center and the nearby playing fields of Canby Park, assure that the famous Viking Maroon and Gold Spirit thrives. Viking Pride also shines in the multitude of co-curricular opportunities available to students. Over 30 clubs are offered, including Student Leadership Group and signature activities such as peer tutoring, Jefferson Awards, Blue*Gold Week, and student involvement in morning announcements and Monday morning assemblies. Through athletics and co-curricular involvement, students are afforded the opportunity to develop their leadership skills and are exposed to the attributes that are hallmarks of good leaders and responsible citizens character, humility, commitment, vision, camaraderie, responsibility, and dependability, to name a few. Whether your sport is played on the field, the ice, the diamond, or the court; whether your interest lies in the courtroom of Mock Trial, the challenges of Math League or Science Olympiad, or the hands-on technology opportunities of 3-D animation and programming in Tech Club, the breadth of offerings and opportunities available at St. E assures that every student can find something of interest to them.
