I am please to announce that Ms Jacqui Castillo will join us as a teacher of Spanish next year. All students at both Inverloch and Kongwak will receive a 50 minute lesson in Spanish language and culture next year. We are very pleased with the calibre of applicants we received, and were interested that all were offering European based languages. We look forward to meeting Ms Castillo and her family before the end of the year. School Concert Please mark in your diaries for the evening of Monday December 8 th for our School Concert. This will be held in The Glade this year. Wednesday December 10 th will be the back-up date in case of inclement weather. Good Luck Josh Bertacco (and his little brother Zavier) are racing in the BMX Victorian Titles this weekend at Knox. We wish Josh and his family the very best of luck. Transition Night While we have been busy with the Kinder children moving into Prep and preparing our Year 6 students to move to Year 7 we are also well aware that some students are quite concerned about the move from Year 2 into Year 3, and the move from Year 4 into Year 5. To help put their fears at ease we have organised a transition night to which students and parents are invited to find out what to expect when they move into a different area of the school. The Transition night will be held on Tuesday November 25 th at school. The Year 2 students and their parents are invited to come along at 7.00pm for an hour, then the Year 4s and their parents can come at 8.00pm. We are sure we can answer all your questions and allay your fears. Parent Helpers Christmas Celebration Inverloch Kongwak parent/helpers Christmas celebration. Are you one of the many parent helpers at the school? Help out in class, book club, sushi lunches, Easter fair, Parents and Friends, etc? Please come along to our end of year social activity. Does day time suit you? Come and join us for morning tea at Jarrah's in Inverloch Thursday the 4th December at 10am. Morning s no good? Then come and share an amazing meal at Tsunami's Friday 5th December at 6.30pm. Please RSVP by 28th November to Paula or leave your name with the office. RSVP s are essential. Lions Club Skateboard Competition The Skate Competition that was cancelled last Sunday will be going ahead this Sunday 23rd November starting at 12noon and finishing at 4pm. Entry fees will be collected at the skate park on the day. AASC Please note there will be no Active After School Netball on Tuesday 2nd December. It will resume as normal on Dec. 9th and 16th.
2 ICYPOLES for OXFAM! Not everyone has a happy time at Christmas like we do. The Year 3/4 students want to raise money for Oxfam Australia s Unwrapped Appeal so that we can give back to others who need it more than us. We will be selling icy poles from the stadium canteen at lunchtime each day from Monday 24 th November for the first 15 minutes after eating time. The icy poles will be 50 cents each (one per student). After we have sold the icy poles we will be looking through the catalogue to select an item we would like to give. We will each decide which option we think is most useful and present our idea to the class. Both year levels will then select the items to purchase. You can learn more about Oxfam Unwrapped at unwrapped.oxfam.org.au Congratulations to our students Harri, Sasha, Jack, Keegan, Tyler, Lucas, Jak, Jack, Max and Zeke who received an award at assembly this morning for safe riding to school. They were spotted by members of the Victorian Police as they rode to school safely on Walk/ Ride to School Day on October 23rd. Here to present the awards were Inspector Graeme Sprugue, Councillors Jordan Crugnale and Andrew Phillips and Sian Conn. Our cricket boys had a fantastic day at Traralgon on Tuesday. They won every game and played out a very close final finishing 2nd overall. Well done boys.
3 Congratulations to all students who participated in the house swimming sports last Friday. It was great to see everyone having a go. It was also fantastic to see the students supporting each other and their house. Well done to RED ROBBINS for being the overall winners. HOUSE COLOURS ASSEMBLY Next Friday we are asking ALL student to come dressed in their House Colour t-shirts to start creating excitement for the Junior School Athletic Sports and to help our students in Prep Yr 2 meet others in their house.
