1 2013 FRC (FIRST Robotics Competition) Student & Parent Registration Instructions & Kick-Off Information Everyone should be at school, outside of the Engineering Lab, by 7:30am on Saturday January 5 th. We will be departing at 7:45, heading to the GA Tech Campus, FERST Center for the Arts for the kick-off activities. VERY IMPORTANT: Two things have to be completed prior to the trip. First, you must register with FIRST, (step-bystep instructions are below). Second, you must print, fill out, sign, get your parent to sign, and bring with you, the GA Tech Waiver, press control & click here to go to the PDF file or copy the following URL into your browser: 1. Students must go to the FIRST website and register. Click here: Or go the FIRST website, on the top bar select FRC, on the left sidebar select Registration, on the fly out menu select Go Directly to STIMS

2 2. On the next screen, right side bar, under Login, middle of side bar, click on New Student User. Then on the next screen, check the first option (Required) and select OK. 3. On the next page, under Team Program, click the radial button for FRC. Out team number is The rest of the information will appear automatically. Input your birth date below the team information and click Continue. 4. Fill in all of the required information, especially the Parent Info and make sure your parent s is correct and is an active valid address, (required for the on-line submission of the Consent Form). Then, click the Apply To Team button. Click OK and then check your for a link to activate your student account.

3 5. You will receive an that looks something like this. In the body of the , you will see; ACTIVATE YOUR ACCOUNT AND SET YOUR PASSWORD HERE message followed by a URL address that looks something like this; (Note: After the /stims/site.lasso?, your series of numbers and letters will be different) 6. Set your personal password, confirm, and click OK. This will take you to your STIMS, (Student Team Information Management System), page. Click on Edit / View button and check that all of the information is correct. Skip over the Change Password section as you just set your password in the previous step. Click the Finished button, log out, and ask your parent to check their . Your parent will receive an that looks something like the following:

4 7. Parent will need to click on the ACTIVATE YOUR ACCOUNT link or copy and paste the link into their browser s URL address bar. Parent will set a password & click OK button in lower right. This takes you to the Terms & Conditions page. Check all 3 boxes & click Continue. This takes you to the Main Summary Page. Complete the Parent Guardian information. Make sure to complete My Profile as well as My Children Profile, including Demographic information, AND the Consent Form Status. Parent; My Children section. Parent Child Be sure to click the Finished button at the bottom right of each page. Note: Under Program Participation History section, you must make a selection for each of the four programs, (even if your child has not participated in the program).

5 8. Scroll to bottom and select the Sign Form button. Make sure you see (2) Complete and (1) Accepted before logging out. 9. Then; student will receive (2) confirmation s; 1. that the Consent Form has been accepted, and 2. That you have been accepted to the team. (Student Center Ballroom) 9:45 AM Welcome talks (Ferst Center) 10:30 AM Kickoff Broadcast starts (Ferst Center) 12:00 PM Field Viewing and Kit of Parts handout; two team members and a mentor to pickup kit (Ferst Center loading dock) 12:45 PM Loading dock closes; end of kit of parts distribution 1:00 PM Return to FCHS (Bring $ $10.00 for lunch (we ll stop at a Wendy s or McDonalds) IMPORTANT: Don t forget the GA Tech Waiver. You must print, fill out, sign, have your parent sign, and bring with you on Saturday Morning.
