1. From your Mac, open a web browser, type in the address bar and press Return (Fig 1).

1 Office 365 Downloading Office Apps on a Mac Introduction As part of Towson University s upgrade to Office 365, faculty, staff and students will have the ability to install the Microsoft Office apps on up to 5 devices. This self-help document will show you how to download Office on a Mac. These downloads are for personal devices only. To install Microsoft Office on a Towson University device, please contact the Help Center. Logging In & Downloading Process Summary Introduction Logging In & Downloading Managing Installs Logging Out & Logging Back In. From your Mac, open a web browser, type in the address bar and press Return (Fig ). Figure. The Towson University login page will appear. Enter your Primary address or NetID (Fig, ) and Password (Fig, ), then click Sign in (Fig, 3). 2 Figure 3 3. The Office 365 page will appear (Fig 3). Click the Install button (Fig 3, ). The Office 365 Software page will appear. 4. Select your Language (Fig 4, ) and click the Install button (Fig 4, ). Figure 4

3 5. The software will begin to download (Fig 5, ). Figure 5 6. Once complete, launch the.dmg file from the Downloads folder (Fig 6, ). Figure 6 7. The Installer screen will appear. Double-click the Installer folder. Microsoft Office will begin to install on your machine (Fig 7, ). Figure 7 3

4 8. Follow the prompts from Microsoft Office to complete the installation (Fig 8, ). Figure 8 9. Once installed, the Get Started with Office 0 screen will appear (Fig 9). Figure 9 4

5 0. Click the Sign in to an existing Office 365 subscription link to activate your copy of Office (Fig 9, ).. You will be prompted to enter your address. Type your Towson University Primary address (Fig 0, ) and click the Next button (Fig 0, ). Figure 0. Enter your password in the Password box (Fig, ) and click Sign In (Fig, ). Figure 5

6 3. Enter your First name, Last name and Company name (optional) in the respective boxes (Fig, ) and click Continue (Fig, ). Figure Figure 3 4. You will be asked to keep Microsoft updated (Fig 3). Select Yes (Fig 3, ). You can optionally choose to join the Customer Experience Improvement Program. Click Continue (Fig 3, ). Your copy of Office will be activated. 5. Click Done (Fig 4, ). 7 Managing Installs After you have installed Microsoft Office Apps on one or more machines you may need to manage your installations. This can be used to deactivate a machine that is no longer in your possession or in use.. Once logged into the office.towson.edu portal, click on the gear icon (Fig 5, ) in the top right corner and then click on Office 365 settings (Fig 5, ). Figure 5 Figure 6. The Office 365 settings (Fig 5) page will appear. Click on the Software (Fig 5, ) button. 3. The Software page will appear. Under Manage installs, you will see all machines that have active Microsoft Office Apps installed (Fig 6). 4. To deactivate a machine click Deactivate (Fig 7, ). You will receive a prompt asking Do you want to deactivate this install? 5. Click Yes. Figure 7 6. Finally, you will receive a message informing you that the deactivation was successful (Fig 8). 8 Logging Out & Logging Back In After logging out of Office 365 you will be redirected to the Microsoft Office 365 login page. Be aware that this login page is different from the Towson University Office 365 login page.. Click the drop-down arrow next to your name (Fig 9, ).. Next, click the Sign out button (Fig 9, ). You will be redirected to the Microsoft Office 365 login page (Fig 0). 3. Enter your Towson University Primary address (Fig 0, ). Please note you must use your Towson University Primary address. You cannot use your NetID. 4. Click in the Password text box (Fig 0, ). 5. You will be redirected to the Towson University login page and can proceed to login as normal. Figure 9 Figure 0 8
