1 NARRABEEN YOUTH CLUB NETBALL INFORMATION FOR 2016 Welcome to the 2016 Netball season. We hope you all had a wonderful holiday and now it is time to start thinking of Netball Registrations. This season, Netball NSW and Manly Warringah Netball Association have changed to an online registration system. This means that every player must individually sign in to the My Netball online registration website to register. Attached is a document showing you how to access the registration system- complied by Leanne Poole NYC Assistant Secretary Our Narrabeen youth Club Online registrations will be open from 15 th January. Due to an increase in administration costs, the club has only increased the Registration costs by $5.00 this season. We will offer an early bird discount of $10.00 up till 25 th January only. Registration costs for 2016 The age is what you are turning in 2016 Senior players 18 years and over $ Junior players 10 years to 17 years $ Netsetgo 8 and 9 years $ Netsetgo 6 and 7 years only for 2016 $80.00* * For our 8 week program- NO EARLY BIRD AVAILABLE FOR THIS SKILLS PROGRAM starting in Term 2 Friday afternoon 4pm to 5pm Starting Friday 29 th April till 17 th June 2016 Limited spaces available. Narrabeen Youth Club will hold an information day on Saturday 30 th January from 12 noon to 4pm at Ted Blackwood Hall, Cnr Jacksons and Boondah Roads, Warriewood.We will also be selling netball uniforms. All new players must produce a copy of their birth certificate and a current passport sized photo. You will have to sign a new photo card as well. For returning players who are turning 10, 13 and 17 we will require a new photo and signature on a new photo card for the 2016 season. All other ages 11, 12, 14 and 15s we will have your existing 2015 photo card. We will collect these on this information day if you can arrange to drop in.

2 IMPORTANT 2016 DATES Narrabeen Youth Club Information day Saturday 30 th January 12noon to 4pm GRADING- All players who are turning 10 years to 15 years must attend our NYC grading sessions. It is NYC policy that all junior members are graded into teams with players of similar ability and skill. All clubs in MWNA grade their players into teams the same way. The end result is better competition and a more enjoyable season for everybody. Each year all players are graded again regardless what happened the previous year. We recommend that you read the registration declaration carefully in regards to player withdrawals. -players turning 10 in 2016 Grading day Tuesday 2 nd February from 4pm to 6pm at Pittwater Uniting Church indoor New life Centre at 10 Jubilee Avenue Warriewood -players turning 11 to 15 in Grading day Saturday 6 th February at Pittwater Uniting Church indoor New Life centre As follows 11 years - 10 am to 12 noon 12 years - 12 noon to 2pm 13 years 2.15 till 4pm 14 years 4pm to 4.45 pm 15 years 4.45 to 5.45 pm GRADING IS COMPULSORY FOR ALL PLAYERS. We ask if you can arrive about 10 minutes beforehand to sign on and warm up before taking the court Siobhan Tuckerman is our Club Grading Convenor for 2016 TEAM ANNOUNCEMENTS Friday 19 th February at 4.30 pm till 6.30 pm at Boondah grass courts- this is where players are told what team they are in for the season. Team coach, manager and team training day discussed and decided on. Please remember that the day and time you train will depend on your coach and the majority of the 8 or 9 players in the team. We ask that all parents try to fit in with the team even if it means that a swimming or music lesson may have to be changed to accommodate the whole team. Sometimes we have been advised that a player has no afternoons left due to their other commitments and activities, so please be mindful if you register your daughter all players are expected to train with the team if they want to play with the team. We appreciate your assistance regarding this. This is for all teams up to 17 year olds Seniors may send a representative to collect team bag

3 IMPORTANT NOTE FOR ALL UNDER 10 YEAR OLD PLAYERS 10 YEARS MWNA GRADING ROUND ROBIN Sunday 20 th March at Curl Curl courts 8.30 to 1pm- This is a compulsory day for our Narrabeen youth club under 10 year old teams ONLY.This is where our 10 year old teams will play against other clubs in the MWNA association for their 2016 competition division. If players are missing this has an effect on the team s grade. NYC tries to limit forfeited games if possible. We appreciate your consideration of the team regarding this. Game times for 2016 season to be confirmed by MWNA

4 NETSETGO 8 AND 9 YEAR PLAYERS For First year 8 year old Netsetgo Players, Teams can be made up of school friends etc... Usually a mum takes charge and organises a few friends. You can let the club know who their daughter wants to play with BUT please understand ONLY 8 or 9 players in the one team. We don t want 12 players registering to play altogether. It is not possible!!! To limit disappointment we ask you to consider this when making up a netball team. If 2 friends want to play together but don t know anyone else the club will allocate them to a team. For second year 9 Year Netsetgo players they will usually stay together as their 8 year team from the previous year. If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact us. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT 8 & 9 NET SET GO IS NON COMPETITIVE AND IS FOR LEARNING AND SKILL DEVELOPMENT. NO SCORING IN THESE DIVISIONS- THEY ARE ALL WINNERS UNIFORMS NYC teams will continue to wear the Netball bodysuit and will cost $100 each. Uniforms will be on sale at the information day. Contact for uniforms: Lucy Kelly COACHING NYC is looking for team coaches and managers for the 2016 season. If you are interested in coaching a team or completing a Coaching course please contact Nat Larosa on UMPIRING NYC is a very strong umpiring club and we have a well-developed system for mentoring young umpires. All players from 12 years and over will have allocated umpiring to complete during the season. This is carefully scheduled and must be adhered to. The club will get penalties and fines if rostered umpiring is not completed. FOR SENIORS If you register to play then you have to be prepared to umpire for your team allocation at least a couple of times during the season- The club holds excellent umpire lectures for all players and is worth attending.please Contact Michelle Mills
