1 Welcome to the World Book ebooks app! This file is designed to help you make the best use of the features in this app. Personal Login To access your bookshelf, you must first log in using your personal username and password for your World Book account. You may use your My Research username and password, or you can create a new username and password from the home page of World Book ebooks. Bookshelf PLEASE NOTE: To put new ebooks on your bookshelf, you must first log in to the World Book ebooks website from a mobile browser, such as Safari, to search, open, and download ebooks to your device. You can also download ebooks from My Reading List, which will list the ebooks you've opened on a desktop browser or another device. Once you have logged into the app, you can access your main bookshelf. Your main bookshelf displays books that you have downloaded to your device. When you are connected to the Internet, your bookshelf will automatically sync with your ebook account so that all of your notes, highlights, and other information are saved.

2 This banner identifies books that have been downloaded but have not yet been opened. This icon shows how much of the book you have read. The bookmark moves down the side of the book the further you progress in the text. Bookshelf Toolbar The bookshelf toolbar at the top of your screen allows you to perform many functions. The following is a description of each icon that appears in the toolbar. View My Library, which lists your bookshelves. Edit or

3 lock your bookshelves, or tap a shelf to view the ebooks listed in that shelf. Search your bookshelf by title, author, or publisher. Sort your bookshelf by title, author, expiration date, download date, or arrange the books yourself using the custom setting. When you are in the custom setting, you can move a book by tapping on it and then drag it to a new location. Delete books or move them to a different bookshelf. Switch to list view or tile view (default view). Tap on the tools icon to see more menu options, including application settings, the app version, Help, and Terms and Conditions. Tap on this icon to go to My Reading List, which lists ebooks you've downloaded to your device or opened with the online viewer. My Library The My Library sidebar shows your list of bookshelves. Add, delete, edit, and rearrange your shelves. You can also lock certain shelves using the lock icon at the top right of the sidebar. You can set your password to access locked bookshelves in your app settings.

4 View your locked and unlocked shelves. Rearrange, edit, and delete your shelves. This shelf is unlocked. Anyone can select and view this shelf. This shelf is locked. Select this shelf and input your password to access it. My Reading List My Reading List syncs with your account to show all the ebooks you've opened or downloaded on your account. To sync titles in the My

5 Reading List, you must have access to an Internet or carrier connection. If you want to download an ebook to your device, tap on a title. You will receive a notification to confirm whether you'd like to download the file. Note: We recommend you download ebooks via Wi-Fi. Downloading via a mobile network, such as 3G or LTE, may incur excessive charges. An ebook is currently downloading to your device. You will see the download progress on your bookshelf. The ebook has been successfully downloaded to your device. Reading a Book To open a book, tap once on its cover. Toolbar To activate the toolbar within the app viewer, tap once on the center of the screen. The following describes the functionality of each toolbar icon.

6 Select the arrow at the top of the screen to return to your bookshelf. View the table of contents and book information, which includes the author, publisher, due date, and more. View your bookmarks, highlights, and notes. Search for a word or phrase within the book's text. Change the font size, font type, line space, and screen margin. Note: This icon will only display on the toolbar when reading Classics titles.

7 Change your screen brightness, background color, page turning effect, and toolbar position. Bookmark a page. Use the navigation bar to go to a different page, go back a page, or bring up the a tile view of all pages in the book. Quick Menu The Quick Menu allows users to view menus for highlights and notes, and search the online dictionary. (NOTE: The dictionary feature can only be activated when a user is connected to the Internet.) To view the Quick Menu from within the app, tap and hold on a word in the text. When you are connected to the Internet, bookmarks, highlights, and notes that you add while using the app will automatically sync with your ebooks account.

If you're not sure what device or ios you have, please go to Settings > General > About on your Apple device to get the model number and ios version. You can also find a list of Apple devices on Apple's website. Technical Support Contact customer service and include your name, the school/library name, and a detailed description of the problem you are experiencing. For app-related issues, please include the app version. To find the app version, select the tools icon in the top right corner of your bookshelf. You may be asked to provide screenshots and a set of steps so developers can reproduce the issue. To ensure the best possible app performance, please make sure you update your app as new versions are released.
