This is to announce the 2 nd Division Kindergarten Festival of Talents which shall be held by level on the following dates and venues. The competition aims to: a. showcase the talents of the kindergarten children; b. develop camaraderie and sportsmanship among the participants; c. enhance the self-confidence of the 5 year old children. 3. The contest categories are as follows: Group Individual - Vocal Solo - Folk Dance Competition - Storytelling - Creative Dance Competition - Story Reading - Speech Choir Competition - Drawing - Poem Recitation 4. Details of the contest are shown in: a. Enclosure No. 1: General Guidelines b. Enclosure No. 2: Mechanics of the Contest c. Enclosure No. 3: Contest Piece - Storytelling - Poem Recitation - Speech Choir 5. Meals, transportation and other incidental expenses of participants shall be charged against school MOOE or School Funds subject to the usual accounting and auditing rules and regulations. 6. 2 Enclosure No. 1 General Guidelines Theme: Kakayahan Mo, Ipakita Mo! 1. Each district shall conduct its own competition to select the contestants in all categories. 2. Participants to this competition are presently enrolled Kindergarten pupils. 3. Only District 1 st place winners per category are qualified to join the contest in the Division Level. In case the 1 st place winner is not available, the 2 nd placer may represent the district. 4. There will be a common contest piece for storytelling, story reading, speech choir, poem recitation and a common theme for drawing. Contestants for vocal solo and dance competitions are given the freedom to choose their own music. 5. Mechanics in the conduct of the contest per category is to be followed strictly. The judges will agree on the deductions to be given for every violation on the mechanics of the contest. 6. Over all District winners will be identified by the committee on awards thru point system. Total points garnered by each district shall be consolidated to get the overall champion. Rank / Category Individual Group First 5 pts. 10 pts. Second 3 pts. 6 pts. Third 2 pts. 3 pts. 7. All winners including their coaches will receive a certificate of recognition while the non winners will be given certificate of participation. 8. The panel of judges shall be composed of a Chairman and 2 members. The decision of the board of judges is final. 9. Each child is allowed to join in only one category. 10. List of District Winners and their coaches in the different categories should be submitted to the Division Office 10 days before the date of the Division Contest.
3 Enclosure No. 2 Mechanics of the Contest 1. STORYTELLING 1. Each contestant will be given 3 minutes to deliver the piece. 2. The winner will be chosen by the panel of judges based on the criteria below: A. Mastery of the Piece - 50% B. Voice Projection/Verbal Style - 20% C. Expression/Distinct Style - 20% D. Level of Confidence - 5% E. Costume - 5% 2. POEM RECITATION 1. Each contestant will recite a common poem within two minutes including entrance and exit. 2. The winners will be chosen based on the following criteria: A. Voice clarity and projection - 25% B. Diction - 20% C. Interpretation - 25% D. Mastery - 25% E. Costume - 5% 3. VOCAL SOLO COMPETITION 1. Each contestant is free to choose any song appropriate to children. 2. Performance time is 2-3 minutes including entrance and exit. 3. Minus-one music or live piano or guitar can be used as a accompaniment, however, contestants are allowed to sing without accompaniment. 4. The winners will be chosen based on the following criteria: A. Voice Quality and Projection - 25% B. Rhythm - 15% C. Dynamics - 15% D. Diction - 15% E. Mastery - 20% F. Showmanship - 10% 4. DRAWING 1. Each contestant will draw on 1 sheet of oslo paper using crayons only.(maximum of 45 minutes) 2. Contestants will bring their own materials for the contest. 3. The drawing should depict the theme to be given by the judges on the day of the contest. 4. The winners will be chosen based on the following criteria: A. Relevance to the theme - 25% B. Creativity - 25% C. Layout - 20% D. Color Harmony - 20% E. Neatness - 10%
4 5. STORY READING 1. The contestant will be given 2 minutes for acquaintance with the piece or story. 2. The piece shall be delivered within 3 minutes 3. The winners will be chosen by the panel of judges on the general criteria below: a. Interpretation - 50% - Vocal expression Proper phrasing Timing Pacing - 10 b. Projection - 20% - Voice mechanics Level of Confidence - 10 c. Reading Fluency - 30% - Accuracy Automaticity Expression CREATIVE DANCE COMPETITION 1. The group is composed of five (5) pairs, 5 males and 5 females 2. Each participating group will create a dance depicting a certain sports of their choice. Example if they choose basketball, their steps should include dribbling, shooting, throwing and catching. 3. Time of performance should not exceed 5 minutes including entrance and exit. 4. The winners will be chosen by the panel of judges on the general criteria below: A. Creativity - 25% B. Choreography - 20% C. Grace & Footwork - 25% D. Mastery & Coordination - 25% E. Attire - 5% 7. FOLK DANCE COMPETITION 1. The group is composed of (5) pairs, 5 males and 5 females 2. Time of performance should not exceed 5 minutes including entrance and exit. 3. The winners will be chosen by the panel of judges on the general criteria below: A. Creativity - 25% B. Choreography - 20% C. Grace & Footwork - 25% D. Mastery & Coordination - 25% E. Attire - 5% 8. SPEECH CHOIR 1. Each group is composed of 15 members. 2. Each group will be given a maximum of five (5) minutes including entrance and exit to perform. 3. The winners will be chosen by the panel of judges based on the following criteria: A. Voice Projection - 30% B. Mastery - 30% C. Fluency - 30% - Accuracy Automaticity Expression - 10 D. Costume - 5% E. Audience Impact - 5%
5 Enclosure No. 3 Contest Piece Storytelling Filipino Si Langgam at si Tipaklong (Pabula) Maganda ang panahon. Mainit ang sikat ng araw. Maaga pa lamang ay gising na si Langgam. Nagluto siya at kumain. Pagkatapos, lumakad na siya. Gaya nang dati, naghanap siya ng pagkain. Isang butil ng bigas ang nakita niya. Pinasan niya ito at dinala sa kanyang bahay. Nakita siya ni Tipaklong. Magandang umaga, kaibigang Langgam, bati ni Tipaklong. Kaybigat ng iyong dala. Bakit ba wala ka nang ginawa kundi maghanap at mag-ipon ng pagkain? Oo nga. Nag-iipon ako ng pagkain habang maganda ang panahon, sagot ni Langgam. Tumulad ka sa akin, kaibigang Langgam, wika ni Tipaklong. Habang maganda ang panahon tayo ay magsaya. Halika! Tayo ay lumukso, tayo ay kumanta. Ikaw na lang, kaibigang Tipaklong, sagot ni Langgam. Gaya nang sinabi ko sa iyo, habang maganda ang panahon, ako ay maghahanap ng pagkain. Ito'y aking iipunin para ako ay may makain pag sumama ang panahon. Lumipas pa ang maraming araw. Dumating ang tag-ulan. Ulan sa umaga, ulan sa hapon at sa gabi ay umuulan pa rin. At dumating ang panahong kumidlat, kumukulog at lumalakas ang hangin kasabay ang pagbuhos ng malakas na ulan.ginaw na ginaw at gutom na gutom ang kawawang Tipaklong. Naalaala niyang bigla ang kaibigang si Langgam. Paglipas ng bagyo, pinilit ni Tipaklong na marating ang bahay ni Langgam. Bahagya na siyang makalukso. Wala na ang dating sigla ng masayahing si Tipaklong. Tok! Tok! Tok! Bumukas ang pinto. Aba! Ang aking kaibigan, wika ni Langgam. Tuloy ka. Halika at maupo.binigyan ni Langgam ng tuyong damit si Tipaklong. Saka mabilis na naghanda siya ng pagkain. Ilan pang sandali at magkasalong kumain ng mainit na pagkain ang magkaibigan. Salamat, kaibigang Langgam, wika ni Tipaklong. Ngayon ako naniwala sa iyo. Kailangan nga palang mag-ipon habang maganda ang panahon at nang may makain pagdating ng taggutom. Mula noon, nagbago si Tipaklong. Pagdating ng tag-init at habang maganda ang panahon ay kasama na siya ng kanyang kaibigang si Langgam. Natuto siyang gumawa at natuto siyang mag-impok.

Ang mutyang bayan ko'y Perlas ng Silangan, Kilala sa ganda at sa iwing taglay na yaman. Sa mga ugat ko ay nananalaytay, Magiting na dugo ng raha at lakan; Ang kasaysayan ko'y di malilimutan Ng aking kalahi't liping pinagmulan. Maraming bayaning nagbuwis ng buhay, Di nag-atubili sa tawag ng bayan, Nabuwal sa dilim at nagdusang tunay Upang kalayaan ay aking makamtan. Ikararangal ko itong lahi, Di ikahihiya sa alinmang lipi; Busilak ang puso, malinis ang budhi Mamatay ay langit kung bayan ang sanhi. Taas noong aking ipinagmalaki Pilipino akong may dangal na lahi, Sintang Pilipinas ang bayan kong saksi, Dinilig ng dugo ng mga bayani.
