2 Dear Canyon View Students & Families, We are very excited to present to you this year s Event Program /Raffles & Auction Guide. We hope you and your family will find this guide as a useful tool to plan your time during Family Fun Night this Friday night. This year we are offering many activities and delicious food items for your diverse palate, as well as your favorite Raffles and Silent Auction. Bring a picnic dinner or take advantage of the savory New York Chicken & Rice Truck! We are offering a variety of items sure to delight your appetite! 4 Auction & Raffle Guidelines 1. The Auction & Raffles open at 6:00 p.m. and close at 7:30 p.m. All auction bid sheets and raffle boxes will be removed at 7:30 p.m. 2. Items will be displayed on the auction tables. Items will be categorized to correspond with this catalog. 3. All items list the terms and intent of the donor; no negotiations will be permitted. 4. Pre- printed bid sheets are in front of each auction item. To bid on an auction item, write your PRE- ASSIGNED BID NUMBER in the box next to the amount that you wish to bid. You do not need to write your assigned bid number at the lowest open amount you may write your assigned bid number at any open amount. Do not write over anyone else s bid number. 5. Bids will be accepted on each auction item until closing and must stop when auction officials close the tables. 6. The person whose bid number appears opposite the highest valid bid at the time the bidding is terminated purchases the item. 7. If you are the highest valid bidder on any bid sheet, you have purchased that item, at that price, even if the price on other bid sheets for exactly the same item is higher or lower than the price on your bid sheet. 8. The Kids $2 Raffle and Canyon View $5 Raffle will be a raffle, not an auction. Purchase your raffle tickets at the raffle ticket tables, write the student s full name and teacher name on the ticket and place in the appropriate Raffle Box. Winners will be selected randomly and announced by Mrs. Giguiere following the close of the auction and raffles at 7:30 p.m. 9. Check the Winner Wall to see if you are a winner. If you are, please go to the cashier tables to purchase your items before 8:30 p.m. All purchases must be paid in full the evening of the auction by cash, VISA or MasterCard and brought home. All sales are final. 10. The Payment Table will be open from 8:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. 11. If you are unable to stay until check- out, please make arrangements for someone else to pay for and pick up your items. Please Note: Participation in the Canyon View Elementary School Auction constitutes a waiver of any and all claims against Canyon View PTA, Canyon View Elementary School, its employees, agents and representatives for any damage, loss, or injury resulting from or connected with the use or receipt of any item or service auctioned. 5 Silent Auction 1. Walk to School with Mrs. Giguiere On Tuesday, June 9 th, 2015, Mrs. Giguiere will walk to school with you in the morning! 2. Ride the Bus with Mrs. Giguiere On Thursday, June 11, 2015 Mrs. Giguiere will ride the bus with you in the morning to school! She will meet you at the bus stop Principal Pizza Party Ten (10) Individual students and one friend of their choice will join the Principal for a pizza party in the MPR on Monday, June 15, 2015 from 5:00-7:00PM. Students will enjoy pizza and a movie Reserved Parking Space Two families will receive a reserved parking space for the school year. These spaces are located in the highly coveted front row of CV s parking lot. This item includes a personalized sign with the family s name Front Row Seats to 6 th Grade Promotion Four families will receive a set of four (4) reserved front row seats at the Canyon View Elementary 6 th Grade Promotion Ceremony. This item also includes one reserved parking space on the day of promotion Second Row Seats to 6 th Grade Promotion Four families will receive a set of four (4) reserved front row seats at the Canyon View Elementary 6 th Grade Promotion Ceremony. As librarian for a day, you will have the opportunity to do all the important tasks that your librarian, Mrs. Tyson, does! You will learn how to check books in and out of the IRC and keep track of all the books at Canyon View. You will get to help students find books they are looking for, and even suggest cool, different books that they may be interested in. Mrs. Tyson will teach you how she picks exciting, new books for the IRC. Maybe you will even have a chance to read a story to a class just like Mrs. Tyson does every day during Story Time! Donated by: Mrs. Tyson A DAY WITH MR. EDUARDO: On a Wednesday, enjoy a fun- filled day with Eduardo Lopez- Curiel, Head Custodian, helping him with a variety of tasks as he takes care of Canyon View! Helping raise the flag, answering radio calls, and delivering supplies are just a few of the jobs you will be helping with on your day with Mr. Eduardo. Please bring your own sack lunch. Mr. Eduardo will provide a yummy treat to end the day with! Donated by: Eduardo Lopez- Curiel A DAY WITH MRS. COLLINS: Star Cart Fun! Enter to win and walk through each classroom, pushing the star cart, and then draw names of students who get to choose a prize. Make your fellow students days by helping Mrs. Collins. Activity will occur week of June 8, KINDERGARTEN ICE CREAM TIME Come and decorate an ice cream bowl with your teacher after school from 2-3 pm on Wednesday, June 10, 2015! After we are done decorating it, we will make a delicious ice cream sundae! We will have lots of delicious toppings to choose from. Bring your appetite and your creativity! Donated by: Mrs. Dailey & Mrs. Higgins *Mrs. Davidson may participate if ticket chosen is a Kindergartner in her class. 1ST GRADE TEACHER FOR A DAY On Monday, June 8 th, 2015 after school one student from each First Grade class will decorate a special Teacher for the Day item with his or her teacher from 2:20-2:45pm. You will wear/bring your item on Wednesday, June 10 th, 2015 during school when you are the teacher. Students will copy, run class, give out STAR tickets, and many other exciting duties. Students will need to bring their own lunch to eat in the teacher s lounge. A special treat will be provided for the student. The first grade teachers can t wait! 8 2ND GRADE CANYON VIEW CAFÉ On Wednesday, June 10, 2015, from 1:45-2:45pm, one student from each Second Grade class will don their very own chef s apron and make a homemade pizza pie. The Second Grade teachers look forward to spending time with the students at their own Café as they make, bake, and eat their special pizzas! Donated by: Mrs. Bowman, Mrs. Filbin, Mrs. Hamilton & Mrs Williams. 3RD GRADE BOWLING Our lucky third grade students will join their teachers for an afternoon of bowling! Get ready to put on your bowling shoes and knock down some pins! Wednesday, June 10 th we will meet at Tustin Lanes at 2:15-3:30pm to bowl and enjoy refreshments from the Snack Bar. Parents must drop off and pick up their students. Donated by: Mrs. Harlow, Mrs. Clarke, Mrs. Heard & Mrs. Sayce 4TH GRADE BOWLING Our lucky fourth grade students will join their teachers for an afternoon of bowling! Get ready to put on your bowling shoes and knock down some pins! Wednesday, June 10 th we will meet at Tustin Lanes at 2:15-3:30 to bowl and enjoy refreshments. Parents provide transportation for their student. Donated by: Mrs. Dunn, Miss Krajanowski, Mrs. Schneider *Miss Price may participate if ticket chosen is a Fourth grader in her class. 5TH GRADE SCAVENGER HUNT AT THE SPECTRUM The Fifth Grade Team has a raffle treat. Bid on us and it will be sweet. June 10 th will be the special day Irvine Spectrum- do you know the way? A scavenger hunt with games of fun. And some special food before we are done. Parents are to bring their winning student to the Spectrum by Target's main entrance at 2:15 and pick them up at 5:15 pm. One lucky winner per class will meet at Boomers for an afternoon of fun with miniature golf, laser tag, rock wall, and more! Be ready for a fun time! Wednesday, June 10 th from 2:30pm- 4:30pm.
