College of Landscape Architecture and Art JAU Nanchang China Abstract Distributed calculation method was used to establish the health assessment index system of forest ecosystem in Guangfeng County from the productivity index structure index disturbance index and the service functions. The forest ecosystem health in Guangfeng Country was evaluated based on the data obtained from the forest resource inventory and the field investigations. The result showed that in the five major forest types in the Guangfeng County the proportions of healthy broad - leaved forest and fir forest were the largest the areas were hm 2 and hm 2 respectively occupying % and % respectively of the total area the most of Phyllostachys pubescens forest was in a relatively healthy state the area and the proportion of that were hm 2 and % the most of camellia forest was in a non-healthy state the area and the proportion of that were hm 2 and %. 2 ecosystems of 7 towns were in a relatively healthy state the forest ecosystems of 5 towns were in sub-healthy state the forest ecosystems of 5 towns were in a non - healthy state. Overall the forest ecosystem health index of Guangfeng County was the forest ecosystem of that was in a healthy state there were three main reasons increase of the forest land improvement of the forest quality and implementation of the forest policy.
