1 ILSC ACCOMMODATIONS 2015 ILSC offers several accommodation options to help meet a variety of student needs. Further information can be obtained about any of the options by contacting ILSC s Student Accommodation Department by at accommodation@ilsc.com. Please note that there is a $220 nonrefundable Accommodation Registration Fee per person for all of the programs listed, which is due in advance to confirm booking. Alternative Accommodations booked for 30 days or more are not subject to tax; however, some accommodations may charge the tax for the first month, and refund at the end of the first 30 days.

Canada Homestay, Roomstay and Alternative Accommodations Homestay Accommodation Homestay accommodation is our most popular option. Homestay provides our students with the opportunity to learn English by living with a Canadian family. The most rewarding aspect of the homestay option is that students, in addition to practicing the language they came to study, have the opportunity to experience Canadian culture through music, television, food, etc. while living with a Canadian family. Full-board Accommodation ILSC offers safe and welcoming homestay families, many of whom have been hosting ILSC students since our school began. Full-board Homestay includes a private bedroom with three meals per day. Most of our homestay families are located approximately minutes by public transit from ILSC. Half-board Homestay The Half-board Homestay is for students who would like to have a little more independence and freedom in terms of their everyday lunch. The Half-board Homestay allows the student to live with the family, just like regular homestay, but it only includes 2 meals a day, breakfast and dinner. Snacks are available after dinner for the students. The students are responsible for purchasing their own lunch every day. Canada Homestay, Roomstay and Alternative Accommodations Roomstay Accommodation ILSC is one of the first schools to offer Roomstay Accommodation. Roomstay provides our students with the option of renting a bedroom from a family. Meals are not included in the package, and students will be responsible for purchasing all their own groceries, beverages, cooking supplies, (including seasonings, oil, dishwashing liquid, etc.) toiletries, (including toilet paper, laundry detergent, etc.) Students will be placed with a homestay family and will have a private bedroom. The homestay family will not cook for the students, but the student will have access to the kitchen to prepare their own meals. In most cases, the student will be sharing the kitchen with the homestay family. Most Roomstay families live approximately minutes by public transit from ILSC. ALTERNATIVE ACCOMMODATIONS Alternative Accommodation ILSC's locations provide a variety of alternative accommodation options for students, that meet a range of budgets and tastes. Depending on location, students may choose private or shared suites and/or rooms. Options may include furnished apartments, hotels, hostels, residences, or suites in houses. Alternative accommodation will provide a room with bed(s), desk, private or shared bathroom, and in some cases, use of internet. NOTE:The Alternative Accommodations prices are subject to change without notice. Therefore, it is important to check with ILSC s Student Accommodation Department to confirm price and availability. Booking Procedure 1. CHECK AVAILABILITY: Contact ILSC to find out if your chosen accommodation is available for your dates. 2. CONFIRM YOUR BOOKING: If the accommodation is available, confirm your booking with ILSC within 24 hours. 3. SEND PAYMENT: Send your accommodation payment to ILSC, including the non-refundable accommodation registration fee, within the designated time: a. Immediately if the booking is less than 6 weeks away from your check-in date OR b. Within two weeks if the booking is more than 6 weeks away from your check-in date 4. It is 10 minutes away from ILSC on foot and downtown s entertainment and sports scene is at the doorstep. The YWCA welcomes both male and female guests from all over the world. Guests are not required to have a YWCA or YMCA membership. 9 9 HOSTELLING INTERNATIONAL CENTRAL AND DOWNTOWN LOCATIONS CENTRAL Hostelling International Vancouver Central is located smack dab in the middle of Granville Street's pub and club district, we re one of the newest Vancouver hostels. Our in-the-thickof-it location makes for the perfect home base while you explore Vancouver. The Vancouver Central Hostel is a short 13 minute walk to the ILSC campus. If you're looking for the fun of a hostel, but still want privacy, you'll love our ensuite private rooms (cable TV included!) and our two-bed dorms. These are our most popular room types, so make sure to book in advance! We know you care about security, too, and that's why you'll find your own backpack-sized locker in your dorm. When you don't have to worry about your stuff, you can really start enjoying yourself. DOWNTOWN Hostelling International Vancouver Downtown is located in the safe and beautiful West End residential neighborhood, one block from vibrant Davie St., with its many shops, restaurants and cafes. The hostel enjoys plenty of outdoor space and the rooftop garden patio is the perfect place to chill on those warm summer days. Vancouver Downtown is just a 25 minute walk from ILSC. From the hostel, you can easily walk to Stanley Park or any downtown attraction, not to mention that we're a two minute walk from English Bay beach and False Creek Ferries to Granville Island. For those who'd like to venture further, we have mountain bikes available for rent, and sell passes at our front desk for Vancouver's extensive transit system. Our four bed dorms include lockers, a sink, and secure keycard access. 14 LORD STANLEY TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR MONTHLY STAYS z A security deposit of $600 at the time of booking. This is to be paid by the student by credit card (VISA, MasterCard or American Express). The security deposit will be refunded after the student s departure, provided the suite is left in the same condition as upon arrival. The security deposit is nonrefundable if the reservation is cancelled. The credit card used to pay the deposit must belong to the person who is staying at the Lord Stanley Suites. z Payment of one month and tax is required at check-in. z No refund of monthly rent for early departures. z Reservation requests are subject to availability. PAYMENT/CANCELLATION z To guarantee a reservation, we require a valid credit card number and expiry date, or payment of one night room and tax. Cancellation is 48 hours prior to arrival. If the reservation is cancelled less than 48 hours prior to arrival, there will be a charge of one night room and tax. z In accordance with British Columbia s taxation guidelines, the Hotel Room Tax and GST of 14.24% must be collected in addition to the monthly rate (The tax is included in ILSC's listed rates). 19 19 A FEW REMINDERS ABOUT ALTERNATIVE ACCOMMODATIONS z Room availability is not guaranteed. z Amenities may vary from hotel to hotel and from room to room. z Airport reception is not offered in the Alternative Accommodation Program. Students should arrange their own transportation to and from the property. z Rates do not include taxes, incidentals and any other charges the student may incur. z The YWCA, Cascadia Hotel & Suites and Delta will invoice the room rates ONLY to ILSC; therefore payment should be made at least three weeks in advance to their respective agent in order for ILSC to pay the YWCA, Cascadia Hotel & Suites and Delta two weeks prior to check-in date. z Some properties may charge a booking fee and/or a deposit in addition to ILSC s placement fee. z A valid card is required to guarantee and hold all bookings. A booking cannot be made unless the client s full credit card information is provided. z No refunds will be granted as each property s cancellation policy will apply, and any cancellation fees charged by the property are the responsibility of the student, not ILSC. z ILSC is not responsible for any change in booking and/or, cancellation policy changes of each property. ILSC will strive to keep information up-to-date. However, all penalties will apply according to the property s policy in place at the time of cancellation/change. z ILSC accommodation registration fee is nonrefundable for any reason as this fee must be paid to the property. z Cancellation, change and refund policies will vary from property to property.
