RENTAL CARS Hertz, Avis, Dollar & National car rentals are located at the airport. Your local agency can give you the current rates for the above. If you are under 25 the fee is waived for all Academy students. Upon arrival you will need to show proof that you are attending one of our programs, ie. our confirmation letter, invoice for tuition, government training request, etc. All car rental agencies have shuttle service from the airport. DRIVING FROM THE AIRPORT Take I 91 North to Springfield to Route 291 according to the attached map to locate the Academy Building at 299 Page Blvd., Springfield, MA. Approximate mileage from the Academy to the hotels is 3-9 miles. Our outdoor range in Westfield, MA is approximately 20 miles. The outdoor range is used in the Spring, Summer and Fall. 7 PAGE 7 PLEASE DO THE FOLLOWING WHEN TRAVELING TO THE SMITH & WESSON ACADEMY OR THE SHOOTING SPORTS CENTER. Do not bring a loaded firearm onto Smith & Wesson property. All students reporting for class will be required to unoad their firearms prior to entering the building. No loaded firearms are permitted on the premises until on the firing line. ALSO, carry the confirmation letter from the Smith & Wesson Academy. Transport firearms unloaded and locked in trunk with ammunition separate from the firearm. We can secure your firearm overnight while you are attending class. INFORMATION ON THE SMITH & WESSON SHOOTING SPORTS CENTER Students attending the law enforcement or armorers programs have access to the following with your student ID card which you will receive upon arrival. Student membership to the SSC membership range- $5 lane fee; $5 gun rental fee; 10% discount on store items (not available on handguns or ammunition).
