Reservation contents of booking: Exact address Contact person including phone and address Date, hour, number of persons, sightseeing tour, language which is required Short history of the object The Konopiště castle was founded as a gothic fortress after French castles at the end of the 13 th century probably by Tobiáš of Benešov. The first touch to a medieval structure of the castle was made in the 15 th century by Jiří of Šternberk and than in the 17 th century by Hodějovský. To a baroque residence it was changed in the 18 th century by Vrtbas. The archduke František Ferdinand d Este, who bought it in 1887 from Lobkowitz, rebuilt the castle to a magnificent seat of throne-successor. The chambers were decorated with the collections inherited from Modena s archduke d Este. In the area of baroque garden the Rose garden with hothouses was founded.

Parking place is under castle. Walk to the castle takes 10 min [path is steep].
