4 The first step in receiving treatment is detox if the client has been using drugs/alcohol. Treatment Alternatives offers medically supervised, comfortable detox for every client, needed. Ongoing assessments are made throughout the detoxification process ensuring the stability of the client s health and mood as well as the management of withdrawal symptoms. Once detox has been completed, the client will move to the next appropriate level of care. Detox, if needed, lasts from 5-12 days followed by one of the 4 levels of care (see below). Detox should not be confused with treatment. It is not! Treatment addresses all the reasons for using, the triggers that send a person off to use, mental health issues, how to handle cravings etc. None of these issues are addressed in detox. Every client will receive a full medical and psychological evaluation to create a workable individualized treatment plan. Whatever the client s work needs, within reason, can be incorporated into the treatment plan. After detox a client will move to one of four levels of care: Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), Outpatient Program (OP) and Sober Living Houses for Men and Women. PHP clients can stay 28 days and still attend to crucial aspects of business or start at IOP - depending upon client needs treatment can be days. Should a client choose to continue after treatment, he or she can enter one of our affiliated structured, supervised, sober living communities for men and women.
