That s why choosing a rehab center is a key step in entering recovery, and because there are many types of facilities, asking the right questions can help you or your family members make the best choice QUESTIONS TO ASK

4 1 DO YOU OFFER TREATMENT PROGRAMS FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE A DUAL-DIAGNOSIS DISORDER? Dual-diagnosis disorders occur in people who have a substance abuse disorder co-occurring with a mental health disorder. ABOUT 50% OF DRUG ABUSERS AND ONE-THIRD OF PEOPLE WHO ABUSE ALCOHOL (NATIONAL ALLIANCE FOR THE MENTALLY ILL) HAVE A DUAL-DIAGNOSIS DISORDER. Holistic recovery programs, for example, may provide alternative therapies like massage, acupuncture, meditation and yoga. A faith-based program may include spiritual counseling, religious services, and the use of faith and prayer to maintain long-term sobriety. Some people enter treatment for short-term rehabilitation, usually 30 days or less. Others may require longer treatment, opting to stay for 60 to 90 days or more. The length of treatment is an important factor in choosing a treatment facility for many reasons. More time in a rehab program is less time exposed to stressors, distractions and addiction triggers. SHOR TERM T LONG TERM All drug treatment programs can be defined according to two parameters: inpatient and outpatient. An inpatient addiction treatment facility offers around-the-clock care. An outpatient treatment center offers rehabilitative programs that allow clients to sleep at home and maintain a personal life outside of treatment.
