1 Title: : D.C. Riverside Office Building Case Study ID: EE221 Date: May 12 14, 2011 Time: Ongoing LU.25 /HSW /SD Program Summary openbim, the use of Industry Foundation Classes () for building geometry and data, is not just a theory or academic discussion. It is now possible to use the technology and relevant workflows to create true interoperability between design team partners using different BIM tools in the design of a project. The use of openbim workflows and technology can be demonstrated on a design using the out-of-the-box functionality of applications available today. A case study exploring the use of the technology and the optimal workflows for exchanging data between architectural, structural, and HVAC design and modeling applications will be examined. Learning objectives 1. Review definitions of openbim and ; 2. Review the advantages to using openbim workflows and technology; 3. Contrast other possible BIM workflows with an optimal openbim workflow, where data from different design domains are exchanged using files; 4. Review a case study, D.C. Riverside Office Building, in the use of openbim workflows using architectural, structural, and HVAC BIM-authoring applications; Provider: Nemetschek Vectorworks, Inc. Speakers: Jeffrey W.
