2 Gifted Program Philosophy The Green Local School District is committed to academic excellence and meeting the educational needs of all students. Gifted and talented students are among these students. Because of their unique abilities, they require differentiated educational programs and services that extend and enrich the regular curriculum. In keeping with the district philosophy which states, It is the ultimate goal of The Green Local School District to help each child develop into a critically thinking citizen who can act independently at a personal optimum level within the bounds of social acceptance, we believe that these services must take into account the cognitive, affective and social aspects of the student. Thus, we wish to make provision to work with these students in accordance with their needs and to provide an appropriate education for them so they can reach their greatest potential. This development will benefit both the student themselves, as well as society, since they have much to contribute.
