5 Student Achievement Data Each spring, all public schools in the state of Missouri are required to administer the state achievement MAP (Missouri Assessment Program) test. The MAP test is given in the areas of Communication Arts to students in grades three through eight, and grade eleven; Math to students in grades three through eight, and grade ten. Student performance on the MAP is reported in terms of four performance or achievement levels: Advanced, Proficient, Basic, and Below Basic. These scores are a means of comparing test results with standards of academic performance as established by a state panel drawn from education, business, and professional communities. We know that each child comes to us with their own individual strengths. We believe that it is our job to nurture each child and to continue to help each individual grow to become the best person they can be. Our teachers strive to develop safe classrooms where students come to learn and share. North Park Elementary is a place where students are able to take risks and feel comfortable.
