1 IBM SPSS Statistics download & installation instructions 1. Get the software Authorization Code from by clicking on the Get SPSS Software link. 2. Go to and click on Downloads to download the trial SPSS Statistics software. 3. Install the software based on your operating system. 4. 2 1 Get the software Authorization Code Steps Images Step One Go to /SPSS and click on Get A Personal SPSS License link Step Two Type your Portal username and password in the Students Login section. Then click Login. Step Three Find SPSS Statistics and click on Add to Cart. Step Four Click on View Your Cart. You can also click on View Your Cart at the top left of this page. Step Five Review your order at the top of the page, read the user agreement, and then place a check mark indicating you have read and understand the agreement. 3 Step Six View your ordered software license and make sure to remember the License Serial Number given to you. Step Seven You will receive an confirmation for your SPSS Statistics purchase that will also contain your Authorization Code. 2 Download the Software Steps Images Step One Go to and click on the Free Trials link. 3 Information Technology Student Technology Services

4 Step Two On the Free Trials page, click on Start Trial under SPSS Statistics. You are downloading the trial version that needs to be activated with the Authorization Code received in the previous section. Internet Explorer: Step Three (Optional) If you encounter any certificate issues on the IBM website, please follow these steps: Google Chrome: Internet Explorer: Click on Continue to this website to proceed to the next page to download SPSS Statistics. Google Chrome: Click on the Advanced link and then click on Proceed to ibm.com. 4 Information Technology Student Technology Services

5 Mozilla Firefox: Click on Add Exception to add ibm.com to your exception list. Step Four Fill out the information requested here. Use your CSUF address for the Work e address and Cal State Fullerton for Company Check/un check the boxes as per your preferences. 5 Information Technology Student Technology Services

6 Step Five After filling out the contact information form, scroll down and to accept the terms of the license. Step Six SPSS will try to detect your operating system. You will be asked to select the appropriate software installation file for your computer s operating system. Click on Download for <your operating system>. 7 Step Eight Mac OS X Only Once your file has been downloaded, open the file. Afterwards, look for the SPSSStatistics Drive which will appear on your desktop or on your Finder window. Open SPSSStatistics. Step Nine Mac OS X Only Double click on the SPSS_Statistics_Installer icon. 3 Installing your software The instructions for this guide were done on a PC; however the installation screens will be the same for a Mac. 8 Step Two The Software License Agreement will appear. Click on I accept the terms in the license agreement in order to install SPSS onto your device. Step Three (Optional) By default, SPSS will install the IBM SPSS Statistics Essentials for Python. If you would like to opt out of this addon, click No and click Next. Proceed onto Step Four. Otherwise, click Yes and click on Next. On the next two pages, click on I accept the terms in the license agreement and click Next. 8 Information Technology Student Technology Services

9 Step Four Choose your installation path (optional) and click Next. Step Five Click Install to begin the installation. 9 Information Technology Student Technology Services

10 Step Six The Installation process can take a few minutes. Step Seven Make sure the Start IBM SPSS Statistics 24 Now box is checked. Click Finish. Make sure you have an Internet connection before proceeding to the next step. 10 Information Technology Student Technology Services

11 4 Authorize your software Once the software has been installed, you will be prompted to authorize it. OMG I can t find my Authorization Code! Don t panic! First, check your student account. You should have received an with the license serial number when you placed the order. I think I deleted that ! Okay. Go to Licensing and select Students. Log on with your Portal username and password. Click View Purchased License on the left. Voila! There are all of the serial numbers for software that you purchased through CSUF. Step One Launch SPSS. If your Firewall appears when SPSS is running, allow access for the program. Step Two A window will appear. Click on License Product under the Already purchased IBM SPSS Statistics? 13 Step Five Enter your Authorization Code that you received in your e mail. Click Next. Step Six Your Authorization Code will be processed. Once it is finished, click Next. 13 Information Technology Student Technology Services
