The ICT training Model Innovative caregivers training is a complete set of tools and methods aiming at sustaining organizations and training providers in their efforts to set up competence building processes. At the same time it offered and still offers to end users (health care professionals active in the home care field), a flexible workplace learning approach which integrates (besides technical skills in the ICT domain) also the know-how to use relational and communication skills in an adequate manner. Detailed procedures for competence building activities were defined and formalized, to promote caregiver qualification paths based on existing professional regulations in all participating countries. In Europe seniors and particularly elderly people (> 60/80 years old), are a growing component of the population. Health and psychological fragilities are strongly linked to age progression and do often appear in a context of comorbidity. The need of personal support and health care for older persons is therefore growing constantly, especially in the home care sector (Nolte and McKee, 2008; Bayliss et al. 2008). There exists thus a strong need to offer tailored caregiver training programmes for the home care sector. It is well known, that the quality of life of seniors and elderly people could be improved significantly by promoting homecare integrated assistance including telehealth options, allowing health care professionals to monitor and consult patients remotely (CAST,2012; Garson et al. 2012; EU- EHAP, 2012). As a consequence hospitals and primary care services could be discharged. In this context the promotion of innovative and collaborative care models, which do integrate affordable technologies to coordinate care, will be crucial. It will become most important to assess and adapt attitudes as well as skills of caregivers assisting elderly people at home on a continuous basis. They are in a key position to act as mentors of elderly people and may help them (when knowing to use adequate relational and communication skills) to overcome potential barriers to the use of new technologies. The ICT training Model Innovative caregivers training for further education used interrelated procedures for competence building through transfer, validation and accumulation of learning outcomes, which may be achieved thanks to experiential learning (informal and non-formal contexts). Several complementary units concentrating on workplace learning and assessment will promote caregiver qualification paths based on existing local professional regulations in all participating countries. By promoting the use of new technologies and the interaction with local care networks, both caregivers and elderly people living at home may be facilitated considerably in their usual daily activities. The brochure will include information on project deliverables for a broad public (e.g. for people attending the national/regional/local thematic info-days) dissemination of results by means of article publications in professional and scientific journals; definition of a detailed Exploitation plan; dissemination of results by means of article publications in professional and scientific journals and of a scientific publication. 3

12 Product 'ICT training model' ICT Innovative Caregivers TrainingRethinking competences for a sustainable and Title: ICT training model Product Type: modules Marketing Text: The objectives of the project ICT-training are to enable target persons (caregivers who have no specific training in the health care field and their connected professionals, social workers, patients relatives, etc) to meet the challenges that their work situation asks them in professional, social and personal terms. In particular this project aims at promoting (through the use of ICT equipment and hence the TOI-content of this project) the networking and problem solving skills of the cargivers with other professionals in the area. As a consequence their strategic position with respect to their patients/clients will be enhanced due to increased networking with the local health care system. At the same time also possible inconveniences regarding bad working conditions or social isolation will be reduced. Description: The training model has been tested on caregivers and professionals working with them in Switzerland, Italy and Poland with excellent results. 14 Events Final public conference, Lugano, 4 September 2015 Date Description Target audience Public Contact Information Time and place Project and conference rationale The ICT-Innovative caregivers training- Project, a Transfer of Innovation initiative co-financed by Leonardo Da Vinci LLP Program, focuses on enabling caregivers move in a technologysupported care setting. The main outcome of the project, among the others, is the setting up of an innovative training model able to offer a complete set of tools/method, providing all the actors involved in caregiving with a flexible workplace learning space. The project leans on transformative and experiential dimensions of learning, focusing on a systemic approach: caregiving involving multiple actors, creating a competent network with information and communication technologies (ICT) as facilitator of interaction and networking. The final Conference aims at disseminating and valorizing the results of ICT Project. Target groups of the project (home assistance services, elderly professionals, health service coordinators, caregivers, trainers, teachers, academicals, institutions and VET operators in general) are expected to benefit from a final detailed and qualified results information and dissemination of the project s outcomes. The involvement of local and European key Actors was ensured, in order to discuss methodological and practical achievements of the Project.
