2 Project Information Title: Project Number: EU-Diploma and Master for complementary and integrated Health Sciences A/02/B/F/PP Year: 2002 Project Type: Pilot Project, project with multiplying effect ( ) Status: Marketing Text: Summary: completed AT-Austria Objective: Development of a Europe-wide clear standard for education and confirmation in the areas of complementary medicine and alternative medicine/ healing arts with certification in a EU-wide cooperative network anchored in university degrees. Development of a Europe-wide clear standard for education and confirmation in the areas of complementary medicine and alternative medicine/ healing arts with certification in a EU-wide cooperative network anchored in university degrees: EU-Diploma in Integrated Health Sciences, Master of Science (MSc) in IHS. Design of a corresponding distant-learning programme (internet materials, CD-ROM and printable manuscripts) and logistics of a combined trans-national on-site and distance correspondence course with trans-national acceptance. Establishment of a Europe-wide harmonised professional image as expert in integrated health sciences in accordance with national laws on education and professional practice and in collaboration with the established complementary education facilities. Acceptance by institutions like the Ministries of Health and Science, medical associations and other professional representations. Contents of the Curriculum: Health promotion is seen as a supplement to the so-called repair medicine. In many cases complementary methods are applied today to this end. The course for Integrated Health Sciences (Integrated Health Promotion) is designed to offer interdisciplinary, biological, psychological, sociological and ecological cross-linking as a bridge between conventional and complementary health work.
