13 Objectives Promote cross-agency info and intelligence Increase awareness of the processes and requirements of other functional organizations when considering a potential or known bioterrorism threat Identify best practices that should be commonplace when preventing or mitigating a bioterrorism event Identify opportunities for improvement Strenghten communication and relationships among participants

22 Recommendations Emergency planning ( pre and post attack) Countries should review their plan in terrorism esp bioterrorism Many countries might not have a post attack contigency plan Importance of communicate and teach on these plans

23 Recommendations Judicial framework : Many countries of the region do not have strenghtening measures in legislation for terrorism ( bioterrorism ) Training and preparation of personnel Via seminars, international workshops and courses Frequent, permanent Programs in police academies

24 Recommendations Training equipment and resources Proper equipment necessary Countries who lack financial backing will have difficulty to implement full-scale bioterrorism prevention measures Capacity boosting measures Boost needed for the public health services and response systems ( equipment-human resources) Strengthening actions of migration/customs control Improving the capacity of laboratories Increasing intelligence and investigative efforts Preventive action by controlling and applying physical security measures in high-profile, mass-audience events
