3 Our Story At Living Light we are proud to be New Zealand made. Each candle and home fragrance product is individually hand-poured and crafted at our factory in Golden Bay. We are dedicated to producing world-class quality candles and home fragrance, using only the finest ingredients, including natural and sustainable soy, plant and New Zealand bees wax. This means that our candles are eco-friendly, biodegradable, recyclable and burn carbon-free. Our fragrance blends are of the highest quality and include pure essential oils. From local and artisan roots, the passion and dedication of our team is reflected in the exquisite quality presented. Each candle and fragrance type is unique in make-up and formula. One candle maker produces anywhere from forty five to one thousand candles per day, depending on the type. Candle making is similar to cooking - it is only as good as the cook and the ingredients. When Living Light began in 1998, the small team of candle-makers was housed in a converted pottery shed on our Golden Bay property. And now with 10 employees, we are producing over 400,000 candles and ambient products each year, in a re-purposed dairy factory just behind the township of Takaka. With a focus on design, integrity has been at the core of our candle evolution. Our passion and love for creating a beautiful product which indulges the senses and enlightens the spirit, is the basis of our business. Inspired by the stunning beauty of our natural environment allows us the opportunity to translate this into our candles. We love what we do and we hope you love it too! Our Granite range is long-burning, soot-free and lavishly fragranced. Aqua-Ocean Sage Cheerful and relaxing, with essential oils of peppermint and sage. Black-Sandalwood Earthy and sensual, an ever popular aromatic blend of sandalwood and pinot noir. Dark Red-Bay Berry Sweet woodland berries with a hint of citrus. Yellow-Island Flower Heady and sensual, fragrant frangipani transports you to the tropics. Green-Lemon Grass Refreshing and cleansing with zesty citrus notes. Hot Pink-Tuberose Exotic, intoxicating blend of musky base notes and floral tones. Available in Hearts, Roses and Tea Lights Mocha-Tibetan Cedar Sweet and woody blend of pomegranate, cedarwood and vanilla. Oatmeal-Vanilla Velvety and rich, this bean extract is pure, creamy indulgence. Purple-Blackcurrant Invigorating with a sweet scent of grapes and currants. Red-Pohutukawa Warm and cheerful with citrus, spice and berries, reminiscent of summer. Tangerine-Ginger Vanilla Orange Sweet and spicy to uplift the spirit.
