Sports a brilliant magenta, purple color and intense aromas of plums and berries with hints of flowers. Taylor's Vintage 2009 W.S ,00 Intensely fruity and dripping with luscious dark cherry, blackberry and blueberry flavors, leading to touches of sandalwood. Medium-grained tannins carry through to the lush, spice- and chocolatefilled finish. This shows fine grip and balance, with a very modern feel. Vesuvio Vintage 2009 W.S.98 85,00 Powerfully rich and refined, with plenty of grip behind the lip-smacking flavors of kirsch, dark plum, chocolate and boysenberry. Shows excellent balance as well, with a silky texture and a long, spicy finish that's accented with hints of licorice and cedar. Dow's quinta Senhora da Ribeira Vintage 2008 W.S.94 59,00 Intense and very pure-tasting, offering grapey aromas and flavors that show raspberry and boysenberry overtones, with vanilla and chocolate character. Well-structured, with plenty of grip

Evolves to tar and asphalt. Really held back, yet powerful grip slaps you and makes you happy. This is mind-blowing in texture. The greatest Dow ever made Graham's Vintage 2007 R.P.97 89,00 Rich and chewy, with masses of blueberry, blackberry and raisin character. Full-bodied and very sweet, with a long, powerful finish. Big and juicy, with ultraripe fruit. Racy and full of class. Like cashmere in texture Quinta do Noval Vintage 2007 R.P ,00 The 2007 Quinta do Noval Vintage Port is a star of the vintage. Dense purple-colored, it gives up an already complex aromatic array of lavender, Asian spices, incense, and an amalgam of black fruits with a hint of chocolate in the background. Plush and mouth-filling, this large-scaled Port manages an uncanny blending of elegance and power. Long and savory in the finish, it will continue to blossom for another 20+ years and drink well through its 50th birthday if not longer. Quinta do Vesuvio Vintage 2007 W.S.94 69,00 Fascinating aromas of citrus fruits, blueberry and dried flowers, with tar notes as well, lead to a fullbodied, medium-sweet palate, with a black pepper and spice undertone to the rich, ripe berry fruit. Turns chewy and tannic on the finish. So much to come with age in the bottle. Very typical for Vesuvio. Quinta do Vesuvio a Capela Vintage 2007 W.S ,00 Intense blackberry, spice and stem aromas turn slightly floral. Full-bodied and medium sweet, with wonderfully integrated tannins and a finish of black pepper and spice. Beautifully balanced, with gorgeous fruit. A new small-production, single-vineyard Port from Vesuvio, one of the great Port estates of the Douro Valley. Taylor's Vintage 2007 W.S ,00 This is a giant of a wine lurking behind fresh flowers and ripe fruit. Starts off in a friendly way, then takes hold of the palate, with intense blueberry and blackberry fruit and chewy yet fine tannins. Mouthpuckering, but impressively complex and long. Really kicks in on the finish. The best Taylor since 1994 Vale Meao Vintage 2007 W.S.92 62,00 Loads of sweet blueberry on the nose, with a wet earth undertone. Full-bodied, with a delicate sweetness and a long, racy finish. Turns chewy. This is subtle and very refined, yet there's a serious hit of fine tannins on the finish

3 Quinta do Roriz Vintage 2003 W.S.97 59,00 Aromas of licorice, blackberries and flowers follow through to a full-bodied palate, with light sweetness and an incredible core of gorgeous raspberry fruit. Long finish. Another 1865 Roriz in the making? Quinta do Vesuvio Vintage 2003 W.S.95 89,00 Complex aromas of crushed berries, pepper and spices. Full-bodied, with medium sweetness and layers of polished tannins. Masses of berry, plum and citrus character. This single-vineyard Port is always superb. Taylor's Vintage 2003 R.P ,00 improved each time I raised it to my nose or mouth. It displays a black color and a salty, graphitelaced nose packed with sweet black fruits that is reminiscent of a stellar vintage of Chateau Latour. With air, notes of molasses, burnt sugar, spices, and jammy plums emanate from the glass. Fullbodied, hugely dense, immensely rich, as well as thick, this behemoth is also amazingly balanced and harmonious. Raisins, molasses, licorice, black cherries, plums, and a distinctive note of violets are found in its complex, seamless character. Its interminable finish reveals additional notes of chocolate, kirsch, red as well as black currants, dark cherries, and rose blossoms. Armed with exceptional power, depth, and purity, this Taylor will proudly stand shoulder to shoulder with the finest ever crafted by the Fladgate Partnership. Dow's Vintage 2000 R.P.94 79,00 An opaque blue/purple color (typical of this vintage's top offerings) is followed by a strikingly provocative aromatic display (flowers, licorice, blackberries, and cassis). This firmly-structured, classic, tightly-knit, restrained port exhibits brilliant purity as well as impressive intensity. While not the most dramatic or flamboyant, it is a beautiful, classically structured port that will age gracefully. Graham's quinta dos Malvedos Vintage ,00 Fonseca Vintage 1997 R.P ,00 this dark ruby/purple-colored wine offers a floral, exotic, flamboyant bouquet, a sweet, fleshy style, but not a great deal of weight or massiveness. Heady alcohol, sweet tannin, and a velvety texture make for a gorgeous finish. While I would have preferred to have seen more weight, structure, and intensity, this is an outstanding, albeit lighter than normal Fonseca. Graham's Vintage 1997 W.S ,00 Plum and blackberry on the nose, with hints of dried violets. Wet earth. Full-bodied, medium-sweet, very chewy and rich. Long and caressing. Very layered and structured. Much better than I remember. Impressive.

4 Quinta do Noval Vintage 1997 R.P ,00 The 1997 vintage port is the greatest Quinta do Noval I have ever tasted. The wine of the vintage, this black/purple-colored port boasts fabulous aromatics (espresso, blackberries, licorice, tar, and flowers), followed by massive concentration, full body, and levels of depth and richness. Gorgeously sweet, stunningly concentrated and full-bodied, this profound vintage port should be legendary. Taylor's Vintage 1997 R.P ,00 Saturated black/purple-colored, with stunning aromatics of blueberries, blackberries, licorice, and iron, this spectacular vintage port is one of the stars of the vintage. Extremely full-bodied, with silky tannin, spectacular concentration and purity, multiple flavor levels, and an evolved, forward personality, this is an exquisite yet precocious 1997 vintage port. Quinta do Vesuvio Vintage 1995 W.S.95 95,00 A ripe and rich '95 boasting a remarkable essence of crushed berries, this is classic Port. It's fullbodied and quite sweet, with the velvetiest of tannins and a long, long ripe fruit finish. Dow's Vintage 1994 W.S ,00 A blackstrap, powerful Port. Black, with intense aromas of raspberries, raisins, flowers and stems. Full-bodied and medium sweet, with a long, rich finish. Tannins pull at your palate. Fonseca Vintage 1994 W.S ,00 Top 100W.S.: 1997, Rank: 1 Hold on to your hat. This is the best Fonseca since 1977, and it's probably even better than that classic vintage--more like the breathtaking Mind-blowing, with masses of color, aroma and fruit flavor. Smells like fermenting berries, boasting loads of crushed grape, violet and berry character. Big, full-bodied and very sweet, with tons of tannins and a sweet finish. Tannic and huge, it's a long-term, great Port Niepoort's Vintage 1994 W.S ,00 A tightly knit Port with gorgeous plum, berry and earth character on the nose. Full-bodied, full of plummy flavors and velvety tannins, it's beautiful to taste, yet has grip and structure Quinta do Vesuvio 1994 W.S ,00 Terrific aromas of berries and violets, with a hint of mint. Full-bodied and lightly sweet, with fine, silky tannins that build on the palate and caress the tongue. Outstanding concentration and harmony. Greatest Vesúvio this century Taylor's Vintage 1994 W.S ,00 Top 100W.S.: 1997, Rank: 1 In a word, superb. It's full-bodied, moderately sweet and incredibly tannic, but there's amazing finesse and refinement to the texture, not to mention fabulous, concentrated aromas of raspberries, violets and other flowers. Perhaps the greatest Taylor ever,

5 Niepoort's Vintage 1987 W.S ,00 An impressive example of the vintage, with lots of power and backbone. Inky color, with a very intense, grapy, Syrah-like nose, full-bodied, with full, ripe tannins and plenty of sweet fruit flavors. Extremely long on the finish Graham's Vintage 1985 R.P ,00 Dark color, with intense aromas of blackberry, licorice and hints of flowers. Full-bodied, lightly sweet, with superrefined tannins. Long and caressing. Very youthful. Will improve for a long time. This is really excellent. Always has been. Just starting to come around Niepoort's Vintage 1985 magnum W.S ,00 have tasted some inspiring bottles of the '85, but there may be some bottle variation. Nonetheless, it is a massive wine at its best. Deep purple, with a very jammy, grapy nose, full-bodied, with lots of velvety, sweet fruit flavors and medium tannins Taylor's Vintage 1985 W.S ,00 Medium ruby. Beautiful aromas of flowers and fresh plum, with hints of stems. Full-bodied and medium-sweet, with gorgeous silky tannins and a long, long finish. This is just starting to come around and offers wonderful flavors. Long life ahead, but ready to try. Niepoort's Vintage 1982 W.S ,00 One of the best '82s produced. Very deep ruby with an inky center, extremely ripe berry and grape aromas, full-bodied, with focused, ripe raspberry flavors, full tannins and a long, long finish. Not too sweet Taylor's Vintage 1977 W.S ,00 Good ruby color still. The nose is fresh, with lots of crushed berry and plum, with a hint of piecrust. Full-bodied, with firm tannins and a caressing texture. This delivers loads of complex fruit and spiciness. Medium-sweet. A beauty. Will improve for decades, but why wait?
