Rajesh Durai, Geologist, presented the work. 1 Sweeping statement on interbanding of charnockite / khondalite may be stated only after detailed field studies. 2 There should be a clear distinction between `Background information and highlights. 3 Prograde metamorphism to be established. 4 Deformation / Magmatic episodes to be brought out. 5 Stratigraphic index and symbols are to be incorporated in the map. 6 Granites of different generations should be distinctly mapped and represented in the map. 7 Petrographic studies are to be incorporated. 8 Prorata target achieved and item should be completed as per schedule STM (KKD) STUDY OF TECTONIC FRAME WORK AND MINERAL POTENTIAL OF KANGEYAM CHINNA DHARAPURAM, SECTOR OF KINATTUKKADAVU-KANKEYAM-CHINNA DHARAPURAM TECTONIC ZONE OF CENTRAL TAMIL NADU. STM/SR/TNP/2010/002 SHRI N. SINGARAM G. SENTHIL KUMARAN AND NAVEEN KUMAR NIGAM Shri G. Senthil Kumaran, Geologist, presented the work. The committee made the following comments. 1 Pegmatites of different generations as identified are to be sampled. 2 Types of pegmatite to be distinguished by genesis/petro-chemistry and not by size. 3 Stratigraphic index and symbols are to be incorporated in the map. 4 Structural data is insufficient. 5 Peridotite and dunite should be sampled and analysed for important elements. 6 Tectonic history should be brought out. 7 Although there is a mention of two sets of gneissosity/schistosity but only one set of foliation is shown in the map. It needs further check. 2
3 8 Prorata target achieved and item should be completed as per schedule. 9 RCA allotment / expenditure to tally and reconciled against field stay. GCM NATIONAL GEOCHEMICAL MAPPING IN CHINNA SALEM KALLAKURICHCHI AREA IN PARTS OF VILLUPURAM, PERAMBALUR AND SALEM DISTRICTS OF TAMIL NADU (TOPO SHEET 58I/13,14 AND I/9 (PART).
