Trade Care From farming to breeding and sales, our Trade Care solution can move large volumes of animals to and from virtually any location in the world. A journey filled with care We care about your pets and need important information and additional time to ensure the smoothest possible handling. Our booking process will take you through the requirements, step by step. Not all pet shipments are equal. Our professional team of dedicated personnel will look into each and every pet-shipping request, to provide the best possible customer service. Our Cargo Mega Terminal at our Dubai hub includes a carefully designed animal care station, with expert care provided for animals checking in. Unless otherwise requested, our professional handlers will walk and exercise your dogs and cats will be released into secured specialised enclosures, to allow animals to stretch their limbs between flights and to see to physiological needs. All pet containers will be inspected for safety and cleanliness and cleaned as necessary. Animals will be provided clean water and, if needed, fed as per your instructions either our own high-quality food in accordance to their individual requirements or the food you have provided. We have a range of high-quality kennels manufactured from sturdy injection-moulded plastic. These kennels can be ordered from any Emirates SkyCargo office in various sizes. The order must be placed at least two weeks before your pet s travel. Animals must be able to stand in a natural position, turn around easily and lie down comfortably. To make the journey more comfortable, we recommend you prepare the kennel with familiar bedding and toys and introduce it to your pet several days before travel. 5 Things you need to know The comfort and safety of all animals is always at the forefront of everything we do. With this in mind we take great care to ensure that your travelling companions meet the following requirements: Cats and dogs must be four months old and above. Dangerous/fighting breeds of canines or their crosses will not be accepted onboard, these include: Bull Terrier, Pit Bull Terrier, American Pit Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Irish Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Irish Blue, Red Nose, American Bulldog, Bull Mastiff, Japanese Tosa, Tosa Inu or Tosa Fighting Dog, Dogo Argentino, Argentinian Mastiff or Argentinian Fighting Dog, Fila Brasiliero, Fila Braziliano, Brazilian Mastiff, Brazilian Fighting Dog and Wolf-Dog hybrids. The following breeds will be accepted onboard for transport so long as the selected containers are high in quality, strong, reinforced and custom made to the dog s length, strength and size: Presa Canario*, Presa, Dogo Canario*, Boerboel, Neapolitan Mastiff*, English Mastiff*, French Mastiff*, Dog de Bordeaux, Karabash, Kangal, Caucasian Ovcharka, Rottweiller, Bandog* (some dogs can be brachycephalic). All breeds marked with an (*) are also known as brachycephalic (snub nosed) and therefore, for the added safety of your pets, the following must be noted and applied: Emirates will not accept the following brachycephalic (snubnosed) breeds: French Bulldog; English Bulldog. Emirates will accept in winter months (1 October 30 April) the following breeds of brachycephalic (snub nosed) dogs and cats (these animals, variably, are susceptible to increased risk of heat stroke when exposed to stress or temperatures above 21 0 C, breathing difficulties or increased travel stress), under indemnity and only in a container one size bigger than the animal s normal measurements require: Dogs Boston Terrier, Boxer, Brussels Griffon (Petite Brabancon), Chinese Pug, Chow Chow, Dutch Pug (Mopshond, Mops Hund, Carlino), English Toy Spaniel (King Charles Spaniel), Valley Bulldog, French Mastiff (Dog de Bordeaux), Lhasa Apso, Japanese Chin (Chin, Japanese Spaniel, Japanese Pug), Pekingese, Pug, Shar-Pei, Shih Tzu, Tibetan Spaniel Cats American Burmese, Exotic, Himalayan, Persian, British Shorthair Note: Acceptance of the above breeds and their crosses in summer (1 May 30 September) is subject to case-by-case approvals. All the other conditions as above also apply. 6 7

6 Exotic Care A little love goes a long way Under Exotic Care, all sorts of non-domesticated animals are accepted in strict compliance with IATA LAR, CITES and Emirates SkyCargo requirements. Taking the often sensitive nature of these animals into consideration, we ve devised special processes and procedures, ground handling and aircraft loading arrangements that will ensure the swift and safe transfer of animals from one location to another. Liaising closely with shippers, animal experts and handlers, animal handlers and the national and international authorities, we arrange for the best transportation. Supported by customer and animal welfare oriented and experienced teams at all locations, sub-contracted professional animal handlers, our processes and expertise are designed to overcome any challenges such transport can present. 8 9

7 Trade Care Comfort every step of the way Under Trade Care, we ll accept your shipments of day old chicks and other baby and adult poultry, as well as domesticated animals (cows, sheep, goats, alpacas, llamas etc.). These shipments often contain large quantities of animals. We pay high attention to the quality of the containers used for their transport. We take into account stocking densities, age and maturity of the animals, whether they are pregnant or nursing. Open to and encouraging customer communication, we ensure a nimals comfort and safety prior to flying. At all points, including transit, the animals transported under Exotic Care and Trade Care will be checked for signs of stress and dehydration. Their water and food supplies will be replenished as needed and the cleanliness of their containers checked. In case of prolonged transit and if instructed by the shipper, the animals can be fed

8 Equine Care It s reassuring to travel with friends In the competitive world of horse racing, the difference between first and second place sometimes comes down to a nose. Dubai s well-known passion for horseracing has given us unique experience when it comes to moving racehorses. Our processes have been refined to an art to ensure every step of their journey is comfortable, safe and stress-free. Your thoroughbreds will arrive rested, content and ready to race. A stable environment for horses Be it a thoroughbred horse between races or a much-loved pony. A championship winner or a family horse. From the moment you entrust your horse(s) to us, their wellbeing is our top priority. The same detailed attention and IATA credentials that apply for the transportation of other animals equally extend to the transportation of horses. In accordance with IATA s Live Animals regulations, all our equine passengers are loaded into specially designed horse stalls that are fully enclosed, selfcontained units, approved and developed in consultation with veterinary experts. Safety comes first, so we use separate ramps at the front and rear of the stall for loading and unloading. To lessen anxiety, horses always face the front of the aircraft during the flight. Non-slip floors and interiors without rough or sharp edges are also standard features. The stalls can be adapted to carry up to three horses, depending on their size, age, condition and the owner s requirements. Independently air-conditioned zones. Pressure and ventilation control. Every last detail can be customised to suit the individual needs of the horses. And as for the flight itself, the long haul capabilities of our 747 freighter aircraft prevent unnecessary stops. We can also accommodate grooms on-board a freighter aircraft (number of grooms is limited to aircraft type) to help attend to the horses needs. Our dedicated cargo professionals, in collaboration with accompanying grooms, carefully monitor the condition of the animal and watch closely for any erratic behaviour. Meanwhile, our team of external veterinarians and equine specialists are also on call at all times to ensure horses needs are met in the air and on the ground. 11 Ticking all the boxes is easy IATA Live Animal Regulations We ll guide you on how to conform with the IATA Live Animals Regulations, the worldwide industry standard for transporting fauna by air. In IATA LAR, Emirates SkyCargo has listed some Operator Variations describing the specific requirements and conditions for animal transport. Please refer to our Live Animal Transportation Policy prior to planning your shipment. You can view the Operator Variations published in the IATA LAR on our website. Please contact your local Emirates SkyCargo agent for more information or visit skycargo.com CITES - Convention of International Trade in Endangered Species. All animals included in CITES that require controlled transport and trade, must be presented along with the valid CITES certificate. All CITES animals will have to be cleared for transit via Dubai, where all their documentation will be verified in accordance to all international and CITES legal formalities. 12 Flying, as simple as can be Emirates SkyCargo will carry only the following animals as baggage, under the condition that the transit time in Dubai does not exceed six hours: falcons, dogs, cats and pet birds. All types of animals can be transported as cargo on Emirates SkyCargo (minimum transit time requirements apply, refer to Operator Variations). For all animal shipments accepted on Emirates SkyCargo, you must make a reservation in advance by contacting your nearest Emirates SkyCargo office or visiting skycargo.com. In order to provide you with the best service, we require some additional information about your shipment (please refer to Operator Variations on page six and Fast-track your booking process on page 24). We suggest your animals be delivered to the airport between two and four hours before departure, although this can vary from country to country and depending on individual needs. A strong high quality container, correctly chosen or built for the animal type, nature and size, which conforms to the IATA Live Animals Regulations must be used, ensuring the animal(s) is safe, secure and comfortable. We ll be happy to assist you in choosing the right container. Containers must be correctly labeled with the standard IATA Live Animals Label, the name and address of the owner, a 24-hour contact phone number and the consignee s name and address. The pet s name must be shown on the container. Any relevant information with regard to animal care (e.g. watering, feeding) must be supplied and attached to the container. Moreover, any medication that is being given must be declared to the Emirates SkyCargo acceptance staff during reservation and acceptance, and if found acceptable, be recorded with the name of the drug, time and route of administration, and have relevant documents attached. You will need to provide vaccination and other health certificates. Please ensure that all your animals health records and vaccinations are up to date

13 We always handle with care We do not recommend tranquilising or sedating of animals as this may cause unwanted and often dangerous dehydration. Please inform us in advance about any medication that you may have been planning to give your animals. Certain wild species, however, can be tranquillised under the supervision of a licensed veterinarian, to reduce anxiety and prevent dangerous behaviour. For smooth and fast delivery, we will help ensure that there is someone to meet your sensitive shipment at the airport of destination. The consignor should provide the consignee s confirmation to accept the shipment in advance. To ensure animal welfare and comfort, while certain categories of animals (such as pets) will be eligible to a comfort break, others will be closely monitored in Dubai our hub. This will be arranged in advance and confirmed to you. Once all the transit arrangements are done, you ll be notified. It shouldn t take more than four working days to receive the final confirmation. We also accept your animal shipment for interline carriage (when one or more sectors are performed by another airline), however, this is subject to case-to-case arrangements and approvals and might take up to six working days to receive final confirmation. 14 Fast-track your booking process To ensure the safest transport for your animal(s), you ll need to provide some basic booking information such as: Number of animals to be transported Number of stalls required (for horses) Origin/Destination Date of travel Consignee and Consignor details We also require the following information: Animal common and scientific name Individual age, weight and gender Details of any prior transportation just prior to delivery to Emirates SkyCargo 24-hour emergency number The breed name if it s for dogs and cats (for mixed breeds details of the mix, if known) Preparation of document requirements: All necessary freight papers Customs documents Health papers and certifications All necessary export licenses and the import permit Note: Only original documentation will be accepted to accompany the shipment. Shippers must retain photocopies. Equipment details: For equipment accompanying the animals, you must adhere to the following: Used materials and design must be in accordance with national and international regulations Horse equipment needs to be booked in accordance with country requirements (under the same Air Waybill as the animal(s) or separately) We require an approximate weight of the equipment in order to block the appropriate space 24 25
