11 Postdoc Research Fellowships Goal: further academic qualification open to all disciplines open to all destinations research stays in several countries must be combined within one application short- and long-term fellowships for German early career scientists holding a Ph.D. pursuit of independent research project at a research institution of your choice 11

13 Postdoc Research Fellowships DAAD support / Family Allowances Child allowance for kids under 12 (400 Euro per month for the first child and 100 Euro per month for any additional child). If the scholar is accompanied by his/her child: Extension of the funding period for up to 100 % (maximum extension 12 months) or: Coverage of the monthly costs for child care up to the basic scholarship rate. Combinations are possible! Relocation allowance for the return to Germany at the end of the scholarship. 13

Postdoctoral Researchers International Mobility Experience Position instead of scholarship: DAAD-support via funding agreement with employing German university Funding: position according to German public sector pay scale (TV-L 13) Duration: 18 months work contract at German university mobility phase abroad: 12 months (re-)integration phase in Germany: 6 months Conditions: all nationalities, all disciplines, all destinations Deadline: expired on Feb. 1, 2015 next deadline approx. Jan./Feb

Achievements to date: academic performance, grades, study duration, number and quality of publications; other achievements; overall impression of the applicant in consideration; transnational mobility; intersectoral mobility; social commitment; unavoidable delays in academic development. 2. Project quality and long-term career perspectives: research project; planned implementation (time and work schedule) suitability of the German and foreign host institution and the support provided there 21

23 Congress Participation and Invited Lectures Who? Where? What? Preconditions Duration The program is open to Ph.D. students, postdocs, senior scientists, faculty (incl. retired) travel abroad to international conferences or invited lectures travel allowances, depending on country daily allowance for board and accommodation conference fees (early bird rate) active participation lecture or poster maximum of eight conference days maximum of ten days in case of invited lecturers 23

26 Exchange Involving Projects - PPP (Programm zum Projektbezogenen Personenaustausch) Goal: Intensify cooperation between international and German research groups Programme: for universities and non-university research institutions bilateral programme agreements with 29 partner countries Disciplines: varies, depending on specific programme agreement Eligibility: research groups: postdocs, senior scientists, professors can apply for their institution 26

27 Exchange Involving Projects - PPP (Programm zum Projektbezogenen Personenaustausch) Funding: M.A./Ph.D. students, postdocs, senior scientists special emphasis lies on the support of young scholars, i.e. graduate students working on their thesis, Ph.D. students and postdocs Duration: total: usually up to 2 years with possible extension for a third year (depending on the country) per stay: usually 1 month, with some exceptions Remark: funding for project itself must be guaranteed by other sources 27
