You will barely know it is present on the device, until it protects you from a threat. -Subscription management McAfee is the leading provider of subscription security software. VirusScan Mobile provides customers with that leading technology as well. Updates are managed through a proprietary system ensuring your device has the most current protection possible. -Small file size McAfee VirusScan Mobile is designed and built for the mobile world. The application is extremely small, yet very powerful. The small size makes the application easy to download and install. - scanning More efficient at handling today's larger file sizes (e.g., MP3s, digital photos, PowerPoint presentations), VirusScan Mobile automatically scans inbound (POP3) and outbound (SMTP) and attachments. -AVERT McAfee's Antivirus Emergency Response Team (AVERT) continually monitors worldwide virus outbreaks, then delivers immediate anti-virus protection and removal solutions for VirusScan users. -Always on protection When new viruses attack, McAfee VirusScan Mobile is always on the lookout for new or suspicious behavior silently in the Page 1

2 background without interrupting your work. -Auto cleaning Automatically attempts to clean infections when malicious threats are detected from viruses, worms, Trojans, and Java applets. Cleaned files can then be used safely. -Complete protection VirusScan Mobile protects a mobile device from any threat perspective, including SMS and MMS messages, Bluetooth connections, WAP, and HTTP connections. No matter what you are doing with your phone, you are protected. -Compressed file scanning Scans compressed files, such as.zip,.sis, and other compressed files, to detect hidden infected files. INSTALLATION AND SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS System Requirements: - Any mobile device running Windows Mobile 5.x or Windows Mobile Any SmartPhone or Pocket PC device. Installation Requirements: - At least 1.3Mb free space on your device. Please see the VirusScan Mobile User Guide for installation instructions. DOCUMENTATION Documentation is available from the McAfee Mobile Security download site: MCAFEE VirusScan Mobile Documentation - User Guide. Introduces the product, describes product features, provides detailed instructions for configuring the software, deployment, and ongoing operation and maintenance. - A LICENSE Agreement. 3 - If you update VirusScan Mobile within 15 minutes of registering the the product, you may receive a registration error and the update will fail. If this occurs, wait 30 minutes and try the update again. - For Motorola Q SmartPhone devices, the phone number field for VirusScan Mobile registration does not automatically change the device's mode to "Numeric Entry Only". Click the blue "Nums Lock" key on the device twice. [1763] - An erroneous hourglass icon appears when a user selects the "Restore to..." option from the quarantine screen. [1848] - Restoring a file from quarantine sometimes causes a 3 to 5 second delay, and the application does not display an hourglass icon. [1868] - The "Quarantined Files" list incorrectly shows the size of the quarantined file rather than the size of the virus. [1872] - After restoring files from quarantine, the On-Access scanner still detects them. Disable On-Access scanning (deselect the "Enable real-time scan" option on the "Scan options" screen before restoring files from quarantine. [1899] - The "Incoming Voice Call" dialog is not displayed when VirusScan Mobile is being installed. [1945] - The "Incoming Voice Call" dialog is not displayed in the foreground when the Scheduled Scan or Scheduled Update confirmation dialog is being displayed. User can still answer or dismiss calls using the device's buttons. [1947] - On some devices, after installing VirusScan Mobile, selecting "Yes" to restart your device may not initiate a restart. If this happens, restart your device manually after installing VirusScan Mobile. [1960] - The full path of a quarantined file is not being displayed in the Quarantined Files list. [1997 and 1998] - On Pocket PC devices, a quarantined message attachment cannot be restored to its original location in the Windows/Messaging/Attachment folder. Restore the file to the My Documents folder, and move it later. [2009] - If you start, and then cancel an On-Demand scan while an update is Page 3

4 in progress, the cancellation of the scan is not being logged. [2017] - On Pocket PC devices, the "Update on Internet Connection" option does not work with ActiveSync. [2024] - On Pocket PC devices, installing VirusScan Mobile fails if the device does not have enough free space. VirusScan Mobile will be partially installed on the device, but cannot be removed so that subsequent attempts to install will fail, even if space has been freed. Make sure your device has at least 500KB of free space before installing VirusScan Mobile. [2027] - On Pocket PC devices, if an infected file is deleted while it is open in MS Word, MS Word will become unresponsive. Close MS Word using the Task Manager. [2032] - On Pocket PC devices, if you switch the focus while viewing the infected file "Details" screen, you cannot return to that screen. VirusScan Mobile must detect the infected file again. Do not change the focus to another application when viewing the "Infected File Details" screen. [2033] - On Pocket PC devices, reducing the size of the quarantine area does not take effect until the next scan is performed. [2035] - If you are installing VirusScan Mobile after previously uninstalling the product, and might receive an error saying 'You must first uninstall any previous versions of this software'. Go to "Remove Programs" and uninstall the software a second time. If an uninstall continues to fail, you have to perform a hard reset of your device (see your device's User Guide) to completely remove VirusScan Mobile. [2037] - Opening the "Quarantine View" screen can take 8 to 10 minutes if there are more than 300 files in quarantine. [2047] - On SmartPhone devices, after the "Action Failed" dialog is dismissed during an On-Demand scan, the user can no longer select the "Details" option or access the Scan Action field. [2105] - If you perform an On-Demand scan of a storage card, and remove the storage card before the first "Action Failed" dialog displays, VirusScan Mobile incorrectly reports the action as "removed" instead of "failed." [2126] - If an On-Access Scan is performed while an On-Demand Scan is running, the On-Access Scan notifications do not occur until after the On-Demand Scan is finished. [2127] Page 4

5 - If a detection alert occurs during a message scan, VirusScan Mobile incorrectly lists "Clean" as a scan action. Messages cannot be cleaned. [2131] - If a user closes a "Could not clean" dialog with the "Close" (X) button, subsequent "Could not clean" dialogs will not display during On-Demand scans. [2175] - On some SmartPhone devices, if VirusScan Mobile issues multiple infected file "Alert!" dialogs, this can prevent a user from dialing an outgoing phone call. Dismiss all "Alert!" screens before trying to make an outgoing phone call. [2178] RESOLVED ISSUES Platform: Pocket PC and SmartPhone OS: Windows Mobile Ver and 5.0 Date: 07/14/ VirusScan Mobile On-Demand Scan was failing to detect EICAR samples placed in a deep directory. [1245] - VirusScan Mobile was preventing GPRS (data) connections on the device after an initial GPRS connection had been established then disconnected. [1715] - Button captions were displayed incorrectly after screen refresh events. [1726] - If VirusScan Mobile failed to quarantine a file, an incorrect entry was being entered in the log file. [1800] - Button captions on the Quarantine screen were displayed incorrectly when using the screen and an infected file was detected. [1867] - On-Demand Scan progress bar worked incorrectly on devices that name removable media other than "Storage Card". [1902] - VirusScan Mobile crashed when viewing information about an infected file in the On-Access Scan Details screen. [1949] - On-Demand Scan did not work correctly if the scan was cancelled while scanning a large archive file. [1950] - The VirusScan Mobile "About" screen was displaying a "Build" field rather than a "Version" field. [1965] - Visibility was staying on "Ask Me" dialogs even when they did not have Page 5

6 the top focus. [1966] - Incompatibility with Vieka vbar 2.2 caused an inability to close VirusScan Mobile while vbar was running. [1988] - If voice call was received and accepted during VirusScan Mobile installation, the Call screen was not being displayed. [2002] - If a virus warning notification was received while an incoming voice call was being displayed, the voice call could not be accepted or ignored. [2010] - Frequent failures when uninstalling VirusScan Mobile. [2097] - VirusScan Mobile was not retaining product registration information after a reboot of the device. [2098] - The default settings for scheduled scans and updates has been changed to "Weekly" instead of "Daily." [2112] - Changed the version number from xxxx to xxxx. [2121] - The Palm Treo 700w screen dimensions were not fully supported. [2125] - VirusScan Mobile froze if the Quarantine screen was closed while the "Restore To" dialog was being displayed.
