3 SBO Overview Part of the mandatory Economic Census conducted every 5 years, ending in 2 or 7 Collects business and business owner characteristics Produces estimates on firms, receipts, payroll, and employment by gender, ethnicity, race, and veteran status Provides data tables on business and business owner characteristics by gender, ethnicity, race, and veteran status Only comprehensive, regularly collected source of these data 3
