PRIVATE CLOUD SEPARATE PROJECT Our Dedicated Private Cloud (dpc) is a physically isolated compute and management stack that offers maximum control over capacity assignments and compute resources. dpc is an IT service that caters for projects that require many resources or security designs requiring complete physical separation. This option is the more expensive of the two, and we normally advise starting with vpc and upgrading if necessary. dpc is the right solution for isolated installations, which are not suitable due to their demands on hardware, power, software licensing or other specifications for a shared environment. dpc includes control of compute resources the entire compute and memory allocation is reserved and can be assigned or over-committed as needed. dpc is an extension of your data center, allowing you to choose where to host your applications and workloads. It is fully configurable and can grow as your needs increase. We live by our mission so you can build your business securely! 1 COMPLIANCE UND SECURITY Global Access is the first IaaS / cloud service provider in Germany with an information security management system certified according to the German IT-Grundschutz [IT baseline protection] the highest international data security & compliance standards. Introduced by the Federal Office for Information Security [Bundesamt für Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik], the IT-Grundschutz is a standard derived from BSI/ISO but with a higher level of required safeguards. Global Access has also implemented a quality management system that complies with ISO 9001 certification. 3 HIGH AVAILABILITY AND DISASTER RECOVERY We make it simple to roll out and adhere to your IT compliance requirements. In addition to our security offer, we guarantee your vdc always comes with Gateway Security Services for perimeter control to and from the Internet. You may choose a cost-effective virtual appliance model or an external hardware firewall cluster. And with VMware s NSX design, we now offer optional security services on a shellbased level. Please contact our sales team for more details. High Availability (HA) refers to a system s capacity to remain accessible if a system component fails. Disaster recovery (DR), in turn, is the process by which a system is restored after a natural or man-made disaster. While they both increase overall availability, a notable difference is that with HA there is almost never a loss of service. HA refers to maintaining the service and DR to retaining the data. Note: Global Access will provide upon request the appropriate non-disclosure agreements as well as controller-processor agreements (i.e. regarding Sec. 11 BDSG). Modern IT is now highly dependent on robust disaster recovery services. Both HA/DR solutions must be in place to entirely protect your IT set-up. All Enterprise Level vdc services operate at the Highest Availability as standard.. Global Access ensures HA for its customers by running two data centers connected as a co-location service. In case of total failure at one site, the second site maintains functionality while the failed system is immediately triggered to restart. The data is mirrored synchronously, and enough resources are reserved on both sites for emergency scenarios. 2 VDC ENCRYPTION Global Access is fully owned and operated within Germany the world s leader in data security and compliance. We have the top security certifications in place and can guarantee under German law that the US Patriot Act cannot be applied within our company. That said, we do have an encryption service if you would like to triple-ensure the security of your data. Our product encrypts your data when storing it in your virtual or dedicated private cloud. This additional service allows you to centrally set up, manage and maintain all encryption policies yourself. 4 BACKUP UND RESTORE Your virtual machines can be backed up daily by our backup services. In the case of an error, all VMs and data can be restored. Our backup service runs in the background without requiring any special software on your end. This service can be requested when ordering your vdc package.

This option gives you a higher rebate compared to the PAYG plan. (Note: If you use more resources than selected in your plan, we simply bill the extra resources at the PAYG rate). STORAGE IO WITH INTEGRATED HYBRID BILLING Do you know how much IO storage you need for each application? Very few companies can confidently answer this question, yet they are faced with constant bottlenecks in performance due to inefficient and inflexible storage schemes. Through our portal you have full control of booking, configuring and removing these resources and security settings. You decide how many servers to run with this resource pool. This lets you bypass the complex and tedious method of individually defining, separating and integrating resources as a single virtual server. Virtual machines are provided as a template of an operating system with pre-installed applications and possibly located in a catalog. 10 EXIT STRATEGY Cloud exit strategies are a neccesary insurance for customers adopting or building upon their existing cloud infrastructuure. Global Access ensures flexibility and agility by giving our customers unlimited access to our support team and resources while setting up, maintaining and growing their cloud infrastructure. We encourage our customers to devise a cloud exit strategy to maximize their freedom and safeguard against vendor lock-in.
