This webinar will introduce you to the world of international business from a beginner s perspective and highlight critical resources. This comprehensive package of resources will help you learn what questions to ask and how to get started in international trade. This training is recommended for anyone who has never exported or imported before and is interested in learning more about the process and available resources. A recorded version of this webinar is also available anytime online at institute.wtcdenver.org. Global Logistics, Strategy, and Operations Foundations of Incoterms 2010 Wednesday, February 17, :30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. International Commercial Terms, better known as Incoterms, are the three most important letters in any international sales contract. Before you can understand export or import documentation and compliance, you must understand the basics of Incoterms. Incoterms determine which party is responsible for costs if a shipment is damaged in transit. The point of delivery, not ownership of the goods, transfers according to the Incoterm used. This course, offered by the regional expert in Incoterms, gives you a foundation for knowing the eleven different rules (which differ greatly from domestic shipping terms, such as FOB). These rules were updated in This half-day seminar provides a basic overview of the rules and materials you need in order to use these improved Incoterms to your advantage as a seller or buyer. This training is recommended for all exporters, importers, international sales personnel, purchasing agents, legal counsel, and finance and logistics professionals. This class is available online anytime at institute.wtcdenver.org. Instructor Roy Becker, Roy Becker Seminars Advanced Incoterms 2010 Wednesday, February 17, :30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Attendees must have completed the Foundations of Incoterms 2010 training or obtain permission to attend this advanced course. This advanced level course takes an in-depth look into each of the eleven different Incoterms. We analyze each of the rules, detailing the individual risks, tasks, and costs to solidify your understanding and comfort level. This exercise also demonstrates how Incoterms play a crucial role in all aspects of international business transactions. Roy Becker has a unique training style, using real-life anecdotes and case studies to create a dynamic and interactive learning environment. Bring your copy of the official ICC Incoterms 2010 rules with you to the class for an enhanced experience (not required). This training is recommended for all exporters, importers, international sales personnel, purchasing agents, legal counsel, and finance and logistics professionals. Instructor Roy Becker, Roy Becker Seminars If you take both Foundations and Advanced Incoterms, lunch will be provided between classes. Developing Your Export Strategy Wednesday, March 30, :30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Members $250 Non-Members $350 Taught by the 2013 NASBITE International Trade Educator of the Year, this training focuses on developing a strategic and tactical plan for entering new export markets, including selecting the right market for your product or service, determining how best to enter the market (through export brokers, sales reps, distributors, etc.), where to make the contact necessary to get you there successfully, and how to deal with the unique challenges that you will face once you are there. This class explores the practical business side of foreign regulations, language and logistical barriers, and fending off the inevitable invitation to corruption. Through a combination of lecture, discussion, and real-world context, you can actually begin to develop the footprint of a successful market entry plan for your business. This training is recommended for (1) Business owners or the people in a company responsible for international market development to understand how to improve their chances of creating profitable outcomes from export markets; or (2) People trying to get a broad-based practical business view of the issues and challenges involved in taking a business into foreign markets - this could be people with a business or business idea, who are just beginning to think about exporting, business consultants, who are moving more into international business issues with their clients, and students of international business interested in a practical perspective on what they ve been learning.
