The success or failure of a project is largely in the hands of the key players in the management of the project. Without effective project management, projects may become unwieldy and diverge from their scopes of work, miss project milestones, inaccurately report project outcomes, expenditure allocations, and ultimately fail to provide the particular target outcomes. The effective manager understands the principles of management and their applications to the project cycle and is capable of managing and planning for change and unforeseen circumstances. The effective project manager is also adept at maintaining project information and monitoring various aspects of project performance. In this training programme participants will be exposed to the key tools and techniques necessary to effectively manage donor funded projects, large and small.
