New TEAR Users: If you have heard about TEAR before, but have never used it then I suggest spending the 5 minutes it takes to read through this introduction. Even if you have used TEAR a couple times you might learn something important from this introduction, so I can t urge you enough to JUST READ EVERYTHING (reading won t kill you) So let s begin... 1

2 What is the Total AutoResponder? (TEAR) Many of your are probably familiar with services like getresponse, aweber, interspire, etc They let you setup newsletter type responses that your opted in leads are then hit with over the next few weeks. Your leads get these spammy type of newsletter s promoting some sort of service or product and soon they become overlooked and you lose interaction with them. Not to mention the heavy restrictions they put on what you are allowed to send and what leads you are sending it to. If you bought or scraped an list you can forget about uploading it unless you plan on getting your account banned. So what can you do? Unlike the other software s that you are familiar with TEAR has a unique ability to replicate life like conversations. Easily allowing you to setup your own smtp so you can upload your own lists of leads (however big) without ever needing to worry about getting banned. And yes, you can send whatever content your heart desires. You might be asking yourself, what does it mean that TEAR can replicate life like conversations? TEAR is a true autoresponder, and the most feature rich one of it s kind. You can set up a series of fixed replies with various conditions and tags to make your leads think they are actually talking to a person which will always result in higher click through rates, better smtp reputation and overall more signups to your offer or service. Imagine you scraped, bought or collected a list of 5,000 addresses interested in the product or service you are be selling. In this case, let s say you are selling your SEO services to a list of scrapped businesses in your area. Your first template1 might be something like this: hey, I saw your site is ranking very badly, if you want more clients to your business I can help you out. me back if your interested You can set your 1,2,3, or however many reply templates you want. So when that interested business lead replies to that first they will then be hit with template2 which might be something like: thanks for responding! I do SEO for many businesses in your local area and have helped them grow exponentially, do you know what SEO is? Your leads that reply to this will then be hit with template3 and so on 2

3 In this guide I will be showing you in detail how to setup 2 different and very powerful campaigns. The first is a DripFeed Method, meaning you will be importing a list and it will slowly dripfeed the leads out to generate you a steady flow of traffic. The second method are for those of you generating live inbound leads, meaning you are posting your address on forum or classified sites and leads are contacting you. The difference between these 2 campaigns are simple. The first one (dripfeed) you are importing a bought, scraped or opt ed in list of s and sending out the first template to them. The second method (live inbound) you have posted your somewhere on the internet and leads are contacting you. Before we jump into setting up your first campaign let s quickly glance at a few important features which makes TEAR so powerful compared to other ing softwares. It s important you understand why it is, so you can fully utilize all of it s awesome features. What makes TEAR so powerful? TEAR is not just another ing software. It is a true autoresponder and the ONLY ing software with it s abilities that is matched with a super simple UI and super awesome features. To understand why TEAR is dominating the ing game for internet marketers one must first understand how spam filters work. Gmail has some of the toughest spam filters around and it s just become impossible to send someone your CPA link or website link and expect your to land in your leads inbox. FORGET ABOUT IT! Times have changed and so have we. If you have a large list of s and you want to blast out an selling your ebook, promoting your company, pushing your affiliate cpa offer or whatever it might be, you will have a close to impossible time landing in your leads inbox. You will land in their spam filter and never get read. Which means no traffic and no sales This is where TEAR comes into play! Because of TEARs unique feature to send a fixed series of templates you don t have to put an url links or spammy keywords into the first . The first can be a simple question to engage your leads and create conversation. So if you re selling your SEO services your first might ask a simple question like: 3

4 hey, I saw your site is ranking very badly, if you want more clients to your business I can help you out. me back if your interested Gmail and other clients like yahoo, hotmail, etc.. will see this and not mark it as spam, since there isn t anything spammy about it. Then when they lead replies, and TEAR then sends them response template2, gmail will see there is a conversation going on between your and your leads . Gmail will then know ah, these two people are talking back and forth so don t put any future s in the spam box. Now when you send your url link or throw you pitch in your response template 2 or 3 or 4 gmail will not send it to spam. Your lead will see your link and click on it. Also, besides not hitting the spam this conversation effect engages your lead to talk with you and when they finally get the link they are much more likely to click on your url and sign up than if you were just sending a traditional newsletter type with the link in the first blast. Anyone that tells you marketing is dead is probably stuck in the old school methods of just sending out big newsletter blasts and then wondering why their clicks and signups are so low. I can personally tell you ing is still one of the most profitable marketing methods and TEAR has made it possible to see those huge earnings again! What do you need to run TEAR? Running TEAR is not rocket science and actually very simple. Setting up your first campaign might seem slightly confusing at first, but then again so was facebook the first time you used it! I can setup a brand new campaign within 20 minutes, that will be generating me sales for months, so it s actually a super fast process for what you get out of it. If it s your first time ever setting up TEAR i suggest taking 1 2 hours, turn off anything distracting and get ready to learn some super valuable stuff. I will cover everything you need to set up your first profitable campaign in TEAR. Essentially there are 4 things you need: 1. An for sending and receiving leads (pop3 & smtp) a. Don t get scared this is super easy! We go into this in detail below 2. Server to run TEAR on (not 100% needed) a. You can run TEAR on your personal computer, but I highly recommend running it on a vps or dedi server. Why? If you re running TEAR on your personal 4

5 computer and lose internet connection your software won t be able to send/receive s (which can be a bad thing if you're pushing valuable incoming leads). It also means you need to leave your computer running 24/7. Using a server makes sure that your software is always running and you can access it from anywhere in the world. Personally I recommend getting a Windows2012R2 server with 4 8 GB of ram. Something less powerful works just fine, but I run 8+ TEAR campaigns at once sometimes so it s nice to have a server with decent speed. 3. Your offer (what you re selling) a. This is pretty self explanatory, you need an offer or service you are selling. This is what you are building your campaign around. I ve pushed anything from health, real estate, bizzop, mlm, finance, dating, adult CPA offers with TEAR. A lot of people push their SEO, webdesign, coding, marketing services to scraped/bought lists of domain owners. You can even use it to promote something like a youtube video. Virtually if you can sell anything if you think it s something your leads would be interested in. 4. leads (bought, scraped or live incoming from ads) a. Of course you re going to need leads! Either you already have some or you plan on generating some. In this guide we will go over setting up a campaign if you already have a list of s and also setting up a campaign if you plan on collecting live inbound s. What is a live inbound ? Imagine you post on a forum saying: send me an if you want my free video on how to make money online, bob@domain.com. All s that send bob@domain.com are live incoming s that TEAR will then start responding to. You will be able to export these leads from TEAR and hit with any other future offers you think they would be interested in. There isn t much to it! Chances are you already have 2 or 3 of those things ready to go! So let s finally get started with setting up your first campaign. And let s not forget! We need TEAR. Luckily, it s free to use this software so you can get started without paying anything: 5

6 Setting up your TEAR for sending/receiving s Alright it s time to setup your first campaign in TEAR! When you launch TEAR for the first time you will see the campaigns page as shown below: Type in the name of your campaign and push Add. Click on the campaign and the push Open Campaign. You will now see an empty campaign loaded and ready to use, as shown below: 6

7 Make sure you see the name of the campaign at the top to know you are in the right campaign. If you are trying to run multiple campaigns on the same server simply open another instance of TEAR. You can run as many instances of the TEAR application, per server, as you want. I ve run 12+ campaigns at once without any issues. So the next step is setting up your accounts. After your accounts are setup we just need to set the templates and we are ready to start making money, easy as 1,2,3! 1.Setting up your Accounts. Pop3 & SMTP What is Pop3 & SMTP? Every time someone new to marketing hears the term Pop3 and Smtp they get scared and run away with their tail between their legs. To this day I don t know why, because it s extremely simple and right now I will explain exactly what it is and how you will use it. 7

8 Any account, whether it s a gmail, yahoo, hotmail or your own webhost like example@domain.com uses pop3 and smtp to allow 3rd party software like TEAR, or one you may be familiar with Outlook, to read incoming s (pop3) and to send s (smtp). So when you connect your address to Outlook and it extracts all the s in your inbox and displays them it s doing this via the Pop3 connection. When you send an with your account through Outlook it s using the Smtp connection. TEAR does the same exact thing. You will need to add your Pop3 and Smtp account. Before I show you how to add your pop3 and smtp accounts into TEAR let s talk about what some current TEAR users are using to send their s with (smtp). Free SMTP vs. Paid SMTP Ok right now, let s not worry about your Pop3 account we will set that up in a moment. What is the difference between free and paid smtp? Free Smtp: This is using free services like gmail, yahoo, hotmail, etc.. to send out s. If you do a simple google search free smtp service you will find a ton of companies that let you use their services. But remember free isn t always better. There are restrictions. Gmail lets you send 500 daily, but i would recommend sending no more than 200 daily. Hotmail let s you send around 50 daily before banning your accounts. Other free services like mandrillapp let you send around 250 hourly I believe. These free smtp accounts are great for just blasting out a template with TEAR to your imported list. I personally only use free smtp when i m just blasting out a lot of s to my older lists. I do not recommend this for beginners because it can get confusing working with a lot of smtp accounts. I would rather just use 1 solid smtp account which I will go over now. Paid Smtp: I personally use paid smtp for my leads, because it gets me the best results and you don t have to deal with using a ton of gmail/hotmail accounts that can get banned. Some people use their webhost as their smtp. So you mail with your example@domain.com smtp. Since you already have hosting it s almost like it s free since you have it anyways but you need to check with your webhost (the company hosting your website) to see what their sending limits are. 8

9 I have found Hostgator to be the best, allowing 500 s to be sent per hour. I will show you how to use your webhost as smtp a little later, but first let me tell you what I recommend.. My personal favorite paid smtp is using a third party smtp service that will handle all the sending of your s. I have really good success with SendGrid. If you re still a little confused about what exactly smtp is don t worry we ll go over setting it up in a moment. Adding your Pop3 account. Ok, quick refresher, your pop3 account is where your leads responses will be going. So 9 times out of 10 this will be to your webhost address. example@yourdomain.com. I use hostgator as my webhost. So inside your cpanel you will see an area where you can create accounts. It looks like this: Click on this and then create a new address. This is the account that will be getting responses from your leads. I recommend setting the Mailbox Quota to unlimited Your is your username. The pass you just set in your cpanel is your pass. I created the theslug@myincomekit.com through my cpanel with Hostgator. I will add it on the TEAR on the accounts page: 9

10 Here is what you will need to enter: 1. Host & Port: This is dependant on who your webhost is. You can either use your domains dedicated IP address, as the host, which you can find on your cpanel on the left side under stats But many times your host may also be something like mail.yourdomain.com. Many times either one will work as the host. If you don t know what it is contact your webhost and ask them what to use for your pop3 settings. They will tell you what to use. If you are using gmail/hotmail just google gmail smtp settings and you ll find all the right info. TEAR already has pre configured smtp settings for Gmail and Yahoo. In most cpanels you can also go to your and click on more and Configure Client and you will find all host/port settings here: 10

11 click on Configure Client and you will see this: So we see for host they want me to use: mail.myincomekit.com so we will use this. It should now connect to Port 995 with SSL checked. And to Port 110 with SSL unchecked. Both connections will work just fine. Click on Test Account 11

12 When you see Account is working! means TEAR can successfully connect to your via pop3. This means TEAR can now see all incoming leads to your and extract them and match them to the proper response template. Click on OK and then go ahead and push Add Account TIP: Sometimes if you can t get your account to connect I have found that changing your password and then testing the account again fixed the issue. Adding your SMTP account. The smtp connection is for sending s. Did you know that you can use third party smtp services to do this mailing for you? This is how it works. When we setup our templates we will be spoofing the from address with the address we setup in the Pop3. This allows us to use 3rd party smtp to send our s for us, instead of using your webhost smtp. When people reply to that it will still go to your Pop3 account, even though you aren't using your webhost smtp. What are some reasons why you don t want to use your webhost as your smtp 1. Limitations. Hostgator limits 500/hour. Most other webhosts allow much less than this. Usually under 100/hour. 12

13 2. Less inboxing. When you use your webhost as smtp you are using your webhost IP to send s. Since this IP has no previous built up reputation for mailing your inbox rates will be lower. 3. Less reliable. Sometimes if you're maxing out your sending limits with your webhost they may put a temporary block on your smtp connections which stops any sending until you answer some of their questions. This means lost time. Don t get me wrong and think using your webhost smtp is a horrible idea. I have had success with it in the past, you just have to keep in mind that once you re sending 10 20k s daily and your limited to sending 500/hour it s just not going to run as smooth as it would with 3rd party smtp services. When we use a 3rd party smtp service and send an through them. It will set the from address to whatever you set it to on the template. This is where leads that reply to your outgoing templates will end up. We will set that up shortly. But first let me add my SMTP account! I will be using Sendgrid for my third party smtp service. This is a paid service and costs around $80 per 100,000 s sent. There are cheaper alternatives, but sending that many s makes me A LOT more than $80 so I have no problem paying this, having the ease of mind that my s will be sent without issues. Add the correct host, username, pass and port settings given to you by your smtp provider and then test the account: 13

14 We see that my sendgrid account is working when I push Test Account so I will now go ahead and add it to my SMTP accounts by pushing Add Account Using your webhost as smtp If you don t want to use a 3rd party smtp service right now there is no problem using your webhost as smtp! Here you can see that my same login info for my pop3 account works as my smtp account: 14

15 If I was to use this as my smtp then that means I would be using the smtp of my webhost which in my case is HostGator. If you do decide to use your webhost as your smtp just be sure to check the sending limits with them before sending s since it can be annoying when they block your smtp connection. If your smtp connection no longer connects when you push the Test Account button then chances are they blocked it and you need to contact them about unblocking it again. Ok so we should now see both our pop3 and smtp accounts listed on the Accounts tab like this: 15

16 TEAR is now ready for receiving & sending s. TIP: If you re just planning on blasting out one template to a list of s and not using the autoresponder feature then you don t need to add a Pop3 account. Ex. Upload 20 hotmail accounts into smtp and have them blast out s. (This will not be covered in detail in this.pdf but you will understand how it can be done after finishing this read) Time to get into the juicy part of this. In the next section we ll setup your campaign. 16

17 Building Your First Profitable Autoresponder In this.pdf I will be setting up 2 types of different campaigns selling two different products. Please Read Both! Before you start you need to know 2 things: 1. What are you selling/promoting? 2. Do you already have leads or will you be generating live inbound leads? Drip Feed Method (Selling IM product example) The first campaign I will outline is using TEARs Drip Feed feature. This campaign is for those of you that already have an list that you want to hit with an offer. I will be promoting an internet marketing software product to them in this example Incoming Live Leads Method (dating example) The second campaign is for you guys that plan on posting your around on forums/classified sites to generate live inbound leads. I will be promoting a dating offer to leads that I am generating for this example. TIP: You can just as easily promote an internet marketing product with the second method as with the first. And vice versa with dating. You can use both these autoresponder campaign outlines to promote anything you want! 2a.Drip Feed Method (Selling IM product example) Overview of this method First let me explain what Drip Feed is. TEARs last update (3.0.6) added this feature and it has been changing the game! If you send too many s out with your smtp per hour it can really hurt your IP reputation which could result in your s ending up in your leads spam folder. So people have been trying to figure out how to space s apart to avoid going over sending limits. We ll TEAR finally made it possible! Imagine you have a list of 10,000 s. I can bet you if you blast out all those 10,000 s with TEAR (or any other ing software) you will just hit the spam folder and you might even get your smtp account banned. So how can we fix this? With the TEAR dripfeed you can upload your list of leads and set the amount you want sent per hour. So if you upload 10,000 leads and set it to send 100 per hour you will now have 17

18 a constant flow of leads being sent out over the next 100 hours. This means you don t have to touch anything for 4 days while making money the whole time! So let me show you how to set up the autoresponder templates so you can start sending some s! Setting up your Templates In TEAR you can setup your templates in a fixed order. Think of it as response1, response2, response3, and so on... The first template (response1) is the first that your imported leads will receive. Here you don t want to use overly spammy keywords to avoid the spam filter. I also usually avoid sending a link in the first . Be sure to engage the lead with questions so they respond, template2 will only be sent if the lead replies to template 1. So here we can see how I have setup my first template: Quick chat of the main fields below: 18

19 From Name: From Address: Subject: Template Name: Template Delay: will show as the name who sent the to your leads when they receive the will show up as the sender address to your leads. So when they reply to your it will go to this address. your subject what the template name will be when you add the template, you will see how this works in a moment. how many minutes you want to wait before sending this template after receiving a reply. Since this is template1 and we are blasting it out to our leads there is no need for a delay. TIP: You can spin your text to make it more unique which also helps your inbox rates using {hi hey hello} Before we push Add Template let s setup some conditions! Click on the Conditions button in the lower right side. You will now be taken to the conditions page: 19

20 What are conditions? It s simple. You can set exceptions when not to send a reply to an incoming . Sometimes when uploading a list of s you will have bad s and get an Undeliverable notification sent to your inbox. Something that might look like this: In the picture two above you will see I selected Subject and wrote Undelivered. I also am leaving Contains unchecked. This tell TEAR that if your account gets any s like the one in the picture above to not match it to the next template. Click on Add Condition and you will see your condition has been added We see the new condition has been added. Let s click on the orange Template button again to check over your template one last time. If everything looks good push the blue Add Template button. We should now see the template has been added under templates : 20

21 Now it s time to setup your second template. Warning: Make sure you change the Template Name from response 1 to response 2. And push Add Template when response 2 is ready instead of Update Template or else it will update your current response 1 with your response 2 info. You can also use Tags in TEAR by clicking on the Tag Icon as you can see here: 21

22 In my template 2 I will be using the Tags [Subject] and [ToName] as you can see here: 22

23 So you can see that I am sending a link in this template and asked some more questions to keep them engaged. In this example, I am promoting the TEAR software. If you are also interested in promoting the TEAR software you need to join which is the affiliate network created by the same guys who developed TEAR. They are paying $45 per signup and it s a great offer to be pushing, super high conversions. Make sure you also have your conditions set before adding this template! Ok let s add one more response template to this. I will be dropping my pitch here and also giving my lead an alternative method of contacting me as you can see here: 23

24 And that s all there is to it! Now we just need to upload some leads! So quick refresher You will be importing leads which will be sent template 1. When that lead responds to template 1, they will be sent template 2. Respond to template 2 and they will receive template 3. Since you only have 3 templates setup if they respond to template 3 nothing happens. Let s move on to importing your leads... Importing your leads list and dripfeed settings On the left tab find Import / Export Leads. This will bring you to the window where you can select the template and then Import Dripfeed Leads. Make sure you have response 1 selected as the template, it should look like this: 24

25 I have a simple text file with all my leads in it. There are 1 2k leads in my text file of people interested in marketing, so this campaign should convert very well with them. Here is what it looks like in the.txt file: Push on Import Dripfeed Leads or drag your.txt file into the import / export graph. Then select your.txt file containing leads. It will ask some questions which I usually always say yes 25

26 to all of them. Then you will get a popup window asking how many leads you want to send per hour. Set your # and push import : You can now see the imported leads in your stats at the bottom left of the software: The s Pending shows s that are ready to be sent out. So when you run the software every hour you will see some of your Drip s Pending move to the s Pending and then sent out. You are now ready to run the autoresponder. Click Here to jump ahead to this section, but I recommend you read this second method also to fully understand TEAR. It ll open your mind to new things! 26

27 2b.Incoming Live Leads Method (dating example) Overview of this method The only difference with this method is that the first template will be a little different, and you won t be importing any leads. In this example, I will be setting up a campaign geared towards promoting a dating site to incoming live leads. You might be asking yourself. What are incoming live leads? Imagine you post a classified ad on a dating site saying something like this: Hey, i m 22/F looking for a guy that isn t a sellout loser like the rest. If you re not a dick i ll make you the happiest guy ever, let s chat and see where things go! My is name@domain.com When someone contacts that they are now a incoming live lead. Because they are contacting you first makes them an inbound . They are a live lead because you know they are sitting on their phone or computer right there at that moment. These are very valuable leads, because unlike uploading a list of 10,000 s where 25% of them are probably no longer in use or even exist you know these live incoming s are legit leads ready to talk. Like I said before, your templates will be setup very similar to the method above, but there are some small differences. Also, we are promoting a totally different offer to a different niche, so listen up you might get some ideas! Setting up your Templates If you remember in the first method above I didn t use the [Subject] or [ToName] tags in the first template. Go back to the above method if you don t know where to find the Tags. In this case we can use them in the first template since we are getting an incoming first so we will have that information. Here is how I have my first response setup: 27

28 I can not stress enough the importance of making sure your From Address contains your account you want replies going to. This should be the same as your Pop3 account you added earlier. If this you put in From Address: is not the same as your Pop3 account then when TEAR runs the Pop3 check it won t see any replies in that and nothing will be matched to response 2,3,4 and so on. I added an attachment by dragging and dropping it into the attachments box. You can also push the attachments icon to add images. TIP: Always test your TEAR setup with another you have as if you were a lead going through your autoresponder. Make sure all the links work and everything looks good. Setup your conditions. I explained how to do this in the method above so if you don t know how to do it please go back up to this section: setting your conditions Let s add our second template: 28

29 This is the template they will receive after replying to the first template. Let s make a third template. This is the template I will be adding my offer link into: 29

30 You can use link shorteners on your affiliate links to make them look better. I personally use my own domains and redirect them to my affiliate link. Need dating/cam/adult offers? Check out the offers they have at This affiliate network has a ton of great offers including the TEAR software and they accept all chat type traffic. Here is my final 4th template: 30

31 And that s all there is to it! Your dating campaign is now setup and ready for some leads. We will now run the autoresponder to start processing incoming/outgoing leads! We re on the home stretch of auto piloted sales. Let's get started.. 31

32 3.Running the Autoresponder To get to the screen where you can start and stop TEAR click the big green Run AutoResponder button on the left side. See it highlighted here: Quick Recall: Pop3 is for checking current s in your account and matching them to the appropriate response template. Smtp is for sending out the pending templates. How the Pop3/Smtp timers work When you turn the Pop3/Smtp from OFF to ON it will start running the Pop3/Smtp checks every x amounts of minutes. You can set these limits in Settings at the top right of the software. Here you can see the settings box when clicking Settings : 32

33 You can see the Timer delay (in minutes) is set to 5 minutes by default. This means that when your Pop3 is turned ON that every 5 minutes it will check and extract your Pop3 accounts. Same with your Smtp. By default it s set to 5 minutes. So every 5 minutes it will run your Smtp and send out all pending leads. You can set the amount of Threads you want running. The more threads you have the faster TEAR will process incoming s and send out s. TEAR is a very fast software so I usually don t need more than 1 thread. Sometimes when sending 10k+ leads i ll bump it to 3 5 threads for smtp. You will notice when you turn your Pop3 & Smtp to ON that nothing happens. Don t worry! This is right! Remember your Timer Delay (in minutes) is set to 5 minutes. So it won t start the first check for 5 minutes. If you don t feel like waiting 5 minutes you can run the Manual Check : 33

34 This will start your Pop3 or Smtp check instantly. I ll do this a lot for the first round just to see everything is looking right. It should look something like this: 34

35 Here we can see that the Pop3 check found 76 s inside the Pop3 account and it started extracting them, matching them to the correct response template. In the Smtp logs you can see I am using 3 threads instead of 1, and that it s sending out the correct response templates. Now every 5 minutes it will run Pop3 and Smtp again. Matching incoming leads to the appropriate response and sending out the pending s. TIP: Test your autoresponder setup with one of your own s first to make sure all the replies and filters are working properly. That s it! Your autoresponder should now be running smoothly! 35

36 Quick WrapUp Let s go over what steps you need to do to be ready for traffic: 1. Start a new campaign (30 seconds) 2. Test & Add Accounts (3 minutes) 3. Add your templates (10 minutes) 4.
