Please be advised that credit card payments are preferred to guarantee your entry submission. If you think you will make changes to your entries later, simply save your cart and exit out of the online entry system. Once you select PAY NOW or PAY LATER your entry will be submitted and you will not be able to make changes to your list online. You must navigate all the way through the screens and select PAY NOW or PAY LATER for your entry to be properly submitted. If you chose to PAY LATER then you must remember that prior to logging out of ShoWorks you must print out a detailed receipt and you have two options: 1 st Option = Print out your detailed receipt and mail in the check payment of your entry fee by January 19, Payments must be received in the entry office no later than January 24, Attn: Entry Office, Highway 111, Indio, CA nd Option Print out your detailed receipt and hand deliver your payment to our Riverside County Fairgrounds Entry Office at Arabia Street, Indio (Gate 4 parking) beginning January 19, 2015 but no later than January 24, 2015 at 12 noon. Any entry or payment submitted past this due date will not be accepted! NO EXCEPTIONS! 2 JUNIOR EXHIBITS SPECIAL RULES & GUIDELINES: 1. All general, local, and state rules apply to this department. 2. Open to all Riverside County Junior Organizations, School Classes, and Youth Groups: FFA, FHA, 4-H, etc.; Independent Jr. Exhibitor Ages 5-18 (not graduated from 12th grade). 3. Each entry in these divisions shall have been made or produced by the exhibitor. 4. All entries must remain in place for the duration of the Fair. No early pick-up. 5. Fair reserves the right to display or mount entries as it deems appropriate, which may entail the use of nails, screws, staples, or other devices. 6. No teachers/students may be present during judging. 7. Judges reserve the right to accept, reject, or re-classify any exhibit if such an action is, in its judgment, in the best interest of the Riverside County Fair. The decision of the judges is final. 8. All possible care will be taken with entries; however, the Fair Management, Jr. Exhibits Supervisor, or workers will assume no responsibility for loss or damage of any kind. 9. The Riverside Country Fair will not be liable for any exhibits not picked up on dates and times specified for pick-up. All artwork not picked up by Monday, February 23 rd from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm in the Jr. Building #2, will be donated to local charities. INDUSTRIAL EDUCATION SPECIAL RULES & GUIDELINES: 1. Only projects made in school under supervision of an Industrial Arts or Vocational Trade and Technical Teacher may be entered. 2. It will be the responsibility of each instructor to prejudge entries and eliminate inferior projects. 3. Projects must have been completed during the 12 month period preceding the Fair. 4. Projects must be functional and operative at time of judging. 5. Projects made from assembled kits are not eligible Component parts should be made by the exhibitor wherever possible and judges will rate accordingly. 6. A project may be entered for one award only. 7. No exhibitor may enter more than one article made from the same pattern. 8. Project cards must be filled out and attached to each exhibit including the names and a brief entry description. All projects must be tagged before bringing to the Fair. Instructor must indicate special handling with a red tag. 9. Each school or district must have a representative at the Fair to assist with: a. Unload b. Set for Judging c. Loading 10. Bring staple gun and all necessary equipment to display your project. 11. Project Size Limitation within Architectural Drafting, Drafting, and Graphic Arts divisions, entries may not be larger than 24 x DANISH SYSTEM OF JUDGING Scorecards for Judging Industrial Education Design: Suitability of materials, proportion, balance & detail Craftsmanship: Accuracy in assembly, execution of processes Surface: Neatness, cleanliness, artistic effects, special finishes, or techniques Scope: Utility, practicality, operational how well does it function Judges may consider every presentation to determine final project placing. Judges shall score entries in accordance with the scorecards and award ribbons in accordance with the following scale: Ribbons awards per class: 1 st = 90% to 100% 2 nd = 80% to 89% 3 rd = 70% to 79% 4 th = 60% to 69%
