2 6.1.1 External Office Signage Traditionally, signage on the outside of accounting firms' premises is limited to a small brass nameplate. However, unless prohibited by local regulations or by the terms of occupancy of the premises, a welldesigned modern sign incorporating the Russell Bedford identity should be used instead. Modern office building entrance signs will typically be manufactured from stainless steel or aluminium panels, which will be etched and/or enamelled in order to apply logos and lettering. The quality of fabrication of the entrance sign is paramount as it will leave the all-important first impression on a visiting client. Examples of appropriate designs are illustrated below.:

3 6.1.1 External Office Signage (Cont d) If permitted by regulations and by the terms of occupancy of the premises, a large, high-level / skyline sign may be applied to the office building elevation. The main function of such a sign is long distance visibility, and its size and position will depend on the scale and situation of the building. For maximum impact, such a sign may be limited to the use of the Russell Bedford logo, as long as the full name of the member firm appears in conjunction with the logo at the entrance to the building. The following illustration indicates a suitable exterior signage arrangement.

4 6.1.2 Internal Office Signage Reception Signs The best location for a reception sign is likely to be on a wall adjacent to or behind the reception desk. Ideally, the wall on which the sign is fixed should be a solid colour - preferably PAN 286 Blue - and clear space should be maintained around the sign. A section of the stylised globe symbol may also be added in a tint of PAN 286 Blue. See illustration below. Signs should be commissioned from a professional sign manufacturer. Materials, such as perspex and vinyl, should be chosen to work well with the architecture and interior design of the building. A threedimensional effect using a cut-out logo and lettering can work well in some circumstances. Particular attention should be paid to illuminating the sign. Other Internal Signs Internally signage should, where feasible, follow the general guidelines set for the use of the logo, typefaces and colour palette. A matching decorative effect may be created by applying sections of the stylised globe symbol to glass doors and windows in the form of 'frosted' effect translucent vinyls.

5 6.2 Exhibition Displays In the world of tradeshows and conferences, our brand faces some of its toughest competition. Display solutions are required that are cost-effective but, at the same time, achieve maximum impact and convey a consistent brand identity. Designs should follow guidelines already specified regarding logo usage, typography, colour palette and the use of the globe symbol as a background image. Display System Graphics The illustrations below show the graphics prepared for a lightweight pop-up display system and counter for use at tradeshows and larger conferences.

6 6.2 Exhibition Displays (Cont d) Banner stands The most flexible of displays, the banner stand is ideal for use at small events.

7 6.3 Slide Presentations PowerPoint presentation templates are available on the members' website. These contain standard backgrounds and appropriate settings for typefaces, colours, etc. Templates include title slides, text slides and section dividers, as illustrated below.
