Introduction This document outlines how to install both the hardware and PC-EFTPOS EFT Client software. *Note PC-EFTPOS EFT Software must first be installed on the server which will connect directly with the bank. On the server which is connecting with the bank, install EMS Lite Record the IP address of the server. Enter this when including additional POS connections. See (2.3.1) 1.1 Before you start Before you begin the installation of both the PC-EFTPOS software and your EFTPOS terminal(s), you should ensure you have the following; An EFTPOS terminal which contains the correct bank software, A P66 modem if the site is using a dial-up service, The latest PC-EFTPOS installation CD, (alternatively, latest software can be downloaded from our website ) Terminal and Merchant ID s (per lane) supplied by the bank, POS-AME (or Telstra ID or Tran$end ID) supplied by the bank if required. 1.2 Bank Terminology Terminal ID : This is the number that uniquely identified each EFTPOS terminal. Merchant ID : This number uniquely identifies each merchant POS AME : This number is unique to each dial-up connection or Argent leased line. This number is often called a Tran$end ID, a Telstra ID, or an Argent ID. The number can be anywhere from 6 to 10 digits in length. Bank ANZ The bank will issue details for each terminal at the site as well as the connection to the bank. The following outlines the details each bank will issue: Merchant ID Terminal ID 11 digit number. This is entered into the merchant ID field on the setup page. 5 2. Hardware Installation 2.1 EFTPOS Pinpad Eftpos Pinpad: Supplied Equipment with terminal: EFTPOS Pinpad Powered cable Installation Steps 1. Plug the supplied power adaptor into a powered powerpoint socket, 2. Plug the powered adaptors DB9 connector into the COM port on the POS that the pinpad will use. 3. Plug the pinpad into the RJ45 connector on the opposite end powered adaptor. 2.2 EFTPOS Terminal Supplied Equipment with terminal: EFTPOS Pinpad, Power pack and power cable, POS connector cable, Dial-up phone cable and connector. Installation Steps 1. Power the terminal. Connect the supplied power adaptor to the wall socket. 2. Connect the power adaptor to the round DC power socket on the back of the terminal. 3. Connect the RS232 cable (supplied) to the COM port on the POS (normally COM 1) 4. Connect the other end of the RS232 cable to the RS232 connector on the back of the terminal. 5. If the terminal is using the terminals internal modem, plug the phone cable in to the phone connector on the back of the terminal. PC-EFTPOS Installation Guide v5.0.docx 2

6 2.3 NAB SAGEM Terminal EFTPOS Terminal Supplied Equipment with terminal: Sagem Terminal Power pack and cord POS connector cable (RS232 Cable) (optional) RS232 to USB adaptor cable GPRS SIM Paper Roll Installation Steps 1. Power the terminal. Connect the power pack and cord then plug into a power point. 2. Connect the power adaptor to the power socket on the back of the terminal 3. Connect the RS232 cable (supplied) to the COM port on the back of the PC (normally COM 1) 4. For a terminal integrated to a POS, connect the other end of the RS232 cable to the RS232 connector on the back of the terminal. PC-EFTPOS Installation Guide v5.0.docx 3

7 2.4 i5100 EFTOS Terminal Supplied Equipment with terminal: i5100 EFTPOS Pinpad terminal Power pack and power cable Y Powered Curly Cable (contains the power cable and dial-up phone cable connections) POS connector cable (RS232 data cable) (Identified by label Ingenico CAB ) Installation Steps - 1. Power the terminal. Connect the supplied power pack to the wall socket. 2. Connect the power adaptor to the round DC power socket on the back of the terminal (connection A). 3. Connect the supplied POS connector cable (RS232 data cable) to the COM port on the PC (normally COM 1). 4. Connect the other end of the RS232 data cable to the RS232-1 connector on the back of the terminal (connection C). 5. If the terminal is using the terminal s internal modem, (i.e. single terminal application) plug the phone cable in to the phone connector on the back of the terminal (connection B) and to your phone line socket on the wall. 8 2.5 i3070 EFTOS PINPad Supplied Equipment with terminal: i3070 EFTPOS Pinpad terminal Power pack and power cable POS connector cable (USB data cable) (Identified by label CAB0226 ) POS connector cable (RS232 data cable) (Identified by label CAB0225 ) Installation Steps (RS232) 1. Plug the RJ connector of the RS232 data cable in to the back of the pinpad 2. Plug the power cable in to the power pack and then plug it into a power point 3. Connect the round power connector into the plug at the end of the RS232 data cable as shown 4. Plug the RS232 connector in to the PC Com Port that will be used for the PINpad Installation Steps (USB) (Not currently available at December 2008 for CBA) 1. Plug the RJ connector of the USB data cable in to the back of the pinpad 2. Do not connect the PINpad to your PC until instructed to by the PC-EFTPOS installer. This will be on the Introduction page of the Configuration Wizard 3. When instructed, connect the USB cable to the PC. This will bring up a Found New Hardware Wizard (To view a guide on installing the USB driver, click on the appropriate link in the Introduction page of the Configuration Wizard) 4. After installing the drivers, the PINpad should boot up. The PINpad is powered via USB. 5. Switch the PINpad to USB mode (refer to section 8.1). 6. 9 2.5 P66 Dial-Up Modem One P66 Modem is required for any store that requires dial-up connectivity to the bank. The P66 modem utilizes a purpose built EFTPOS modem to connect with the banking network. The modem can be shared between any number of EFTPOS terminals within a network. There should only be one P66 modem within any single store. Equipment supplied with P66 Modem P66 modem Power supply and power cord PC connector cable (DB9 to RJ12) Dial-up phone cable and connector Installation Steps: 1. Plug the power supply into a power point and the P66 Modem DIN connector, 2. Connect the phone cable to the P66 modem and the wall socket, 3. 10 2.6 P67 Dial-Up Modem The P67 is an alternative to the P66 modem The P67 is built on the NPT710 hardware One P67 Modem is required for any store that requires dial-up connectivity to the bank. The P67 modem utilizes a purpose built EFTPOS modem to connect with the banking network. The modem can be shared between any number of EFTPOS terminals within a network. There should only be one P67 modem within any single store. Equipment supplied with P67 Modem P67 modem Power supply and power cord PC connector cable (DB9 to RJ45) Dial-up phone cable and connector Installation Steps: 1. Plug the power supply into a power point and the P67 Modem power connector, 2. Connect the phone cable to the Line connector on the P67 and to the phone line wall socket, 3. Connect the PC Connector cable to the PC COM port and to the RS232 connector on the P67 modem. 4. Note: The P67 does not come with a USB adaptor. If your PC does not have a COM port you will need to purchase a separate USB to Serial cable (available from most computer stores). Plug the USB to Serial cable in to a USB port on your PC and install the drivers that come with it. Then attach the P67 modem to the serial end of that cable PC-EFTPOS Installation Guide v5.0.docx 7

11 2.7 Argent An Argent installation is normally defined as an AABP 9600bps system. This type of Argent installation does not require a P66 modem from Ingenico. Telstra will supply the Argent Terminal Adaptor to be used in the installation Required Equipment: Argent ATA from Telstra Installation of ISDB service from Telstra Standard RS232 modem cable Installation Steps: 1. Connect the Argent terminal Adaptor to the ISDN service. 2. Connect the RS232 modem cable from the COM port on the POS to the V24 port on the Argent ATA. 3. 12 3. Installing PC-EFTPOS EFT Client 3.1 PC-EFTPOS Setup Wizard Insert the CD containing the latest release of PC-EFTPOS software and run the setup program. The POS must not be running when installing PC-EFTPOS Click on Install PC-EFTPOS Click Next PC-EFTPOS Installation Guide v5.0.docx 9

16 3.2 PC-EFTPOS Configuration Wizard If installing a USB pinpad, connect it now and install its drivers You can use the Restore button to manage previous configurations, or create new ones Click Next PC-EFTPOS Installation Guide v5.0.docx 13

19 This step allows you to configure the bank details in the pinpad now. Select Start Client (F8) and wait for the client to start. This step can be skipped, & the details configured later When the Clients starts & the terminal is connected, the appropriate boxes will highlight for entry of details. 20 3.2.1 Connection via another PC This starts the configuration of the communications for this lane of EFTPOS. Select where the transaction will go after this machine. Click Next If you are using multiple connections, make sure your primary connection has the highest priority Enter the IP address of the server that connects directly to the bank. 23 Confirm the COM Port that the P66 is connected to. If you are using multiple connections, make sure your primary connection has the highest priority The phone number can be adjusted for a PABX by adding the prefix. 25 3.2.3 Optus MTA connected to this PC Select Optus MTA and then click Next (F3) Confirm the COM Port that the MTA is connected to. If you are using multiple connections, make sure your primary connection has the highest priority This is displayed if you have chosen Argent as your communication option. 27 3.2.4 Connection via an Argent Line Select Argent Line and then click Next (F3) Confirm the COM Port that the ATA is connected to. This is displayed if you have chosen Argent as your communication option. Enter the POS-AME or Tran$end number that the bank has given you. 29 3.2.5 Completing the configuration One all options have been entered, finalize the configuration. You can enter a description here, which can be used if you need to restore this configuration. 30 4. Common Installation Errors 4.1 Pinpad offline The PC system cannot communicate with the pinpad. Check that the pinpad has power Check that the pinpad is correctly plugged into the POS Ensure the COM port selected in the install is the COM port the pinpad is on. 4.2 X0 No response If there is no response from the bank, it is generally the terminal ID or Merchant ID are unknown by the bank. Confirm that the details are correct with the bank. If the details are correct, ensure the modem is configured correctly. The easiest way to do this isby re-running the configuration wizard. (It is located in the install directory). 4.3 AMEX and Diners won t work? These cards require the bank to have a connection to Amex & Diners for your merchant ID setup. Check with the bank to ensure they have set this up correctly. 4.4 Can t Access PC-EFTPOS Control Panel The control panel can normally be activated via the EFT-Client icon on the task bar. If the POS has disabled this, then you will need to contact the POS vendor to find out how to access the control panel. 4.5 CNP or PDU Error This is an error generated by the Argent line, or the Telstra dial-up network. The most common cause if the POS-AME (Tran$end ID) is wrong. Confirm this number with the bank and correct it if necessary. PC-EFTPOS Installation Guide v5.0.docx 27
