4 Biography Carol Kaufman CareBinders On April 24, 1994 a phone call derailed the life of entrepreneur Carol Kaufman. Ms. Kaufman, your parents have been involved in a tragic accident, said the NJ police officer. Your mother s been killed. Your father s in a coma & was airlifted to Hartford Hospital. Carol, a single mom and businesswoman, became the healthcare coordinator for her dad for the next 14 years, inheriting a morass of legal docs, deeds, aides, medications, policies, bank accounts & a host of other critical docs & information. Despite degrees from the University of Michigan, helping businesses organize & streamline, & building a multimillion dollar software company, ultimately acquired by SunGard, Carol had entered the swamp of her parents information overload. She mused that there had to be something out there that could help her get organized so she jumped onto the Internet. Yet, no such product existed. This experience led to the creation of CareBinders, now renamed CBData. CBData consolidates all personal, medical, financial & other information for each family member securely & offline - not on the internet. There's a mobile app for iphones, ipad, ipod touch and Androids and the small business version is about to be released, for the 30 million people working out of their homes, including HR, IT, CRM & billing.

5 Biography David Lansky The Family Business Consulting Group David Lansky, Ph.D., is a nationally recognized expert on the psychology and dynamics of family business and family wealth. He founded Family Business Innovations nearly a decade ago and has since played a key role in the growth and transformation of dozens of family businesses. Dr. Lansky spent 15 years as a managing partner in a clinical psychology practice and has served on the faculty of Northwestern University s Family Institute and the Adler School of Professional Psychology. Education: B.S., McGill University; master s and Ph.D. in clinical psychology, Rutgers University.

6 Biography Laura Linger William Blair & Company Laura Linger joined William Blair & Company in 2004 as head of client development for investment counseling within Investment Management Services. Laura has spent her twenty-five year career in management and client facing roles with high net worth individuals and their families in coordinating their professional services in investments, lending, and financial planning. Prior to joining William Blair & Company she was a Senior Vice President and Division Head in LaSalle s Wealth Management Group. Laura received her undergraduate degree in Business Economics from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and is a graduate of the University of Delaware s Stonier Graduate School of Banking. She is a Board Member of the Chicago Botanic Garden, Friends of Prentice Hospital, Steering Committee Member for The Senior Businesswomen s Forum, Investment Committee Member for Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan and Cofounder of the Women s Leadership and Mentoring Alliance (WLMA). She currently serves as an Advisory Member of WFMT and WTTW Planned Giving Committee and is a member of the Chicago Finance Exchange. Laura formerly served on the Board for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Chicago and Winnetka Public Schools Foundation, Chicago Global Donor s Network, Center for Ethics and Corporate Policy and completed an appointed term in 2003 as the first Chairperson of the Advisory Board for Women by the State of Illinois Treasurer, Judy Barr Topinka.
