EDUCATION Ph.D., University of North Texas M.B.Ed., University of North Texas B.B.A., University of North Texas EXPERIENCE Administrative Chancellor, Oakland Community College, Oakland County, Michigan, (Oakland Community College is the largest community college in Michigan, serving over 50,000 students per year, with a budget of over $100M; there are five campuses and a district office.) Led a successful millage campaign that resulted in an increase of over $30M per year for seven years. Developed, with input from entire college, a vision/value statement and led the establishment of a two-year planning process; administrative personnel were held accountable for overseeing the implementation of the strategic plan. Established a major gift campaign; recruited three CEO s from major businesses to chair the campaign; increased Foundation giving from $397,148 to over $5M in cash and equipment Developed a solid Foundation Board by recruiting leaders from the community. Increased grants from $25,525 to over $950,000, plus over $4M from Michigan Job Commission. Established a public relations campaign that included publication of Quintet, a college periodical, sent once each year to all households in Oakland County; radio spots; TV spots; schedule brochures sent to all households in Oakland County each semester; number of press placements increased 250 percent. Increased minority students from 12 percent to over 18 percent; increased minority staff from 3 percent to12 percent; increased women and minority representation on Chancellor s Council from zero representation to 55 percent. Began an ESL program; grew to over 500 students in three years. President, Brookhaven College, Dallas County Community College District, Dallas, Texas Led the development of a vision statement and a two-year planning process; process was an inclusive one with all members of the faculty and staff invited to participate.

2 2 Increased minority students from 12 percent to 25 percent; increased minority staff from 8 percent to 23 percent. Built one building and remodeled one (Testing Center and Business/ Automotive Building); planned and obtained funding for another building that was completed two years after my leaving. Began an Integrative Studies Program. Established an International Center that served over 3,000 students per year. As an example of one activity, a conference was put together for the trustees and presidents of the 28 community colleges, with the production of a monograph (BECOMING A LEARNING COLLEGE) resulting from the conference. Terry O Banion was our plenary speaker; the monograph was sent to all trustees and presidents in Michigan, and additionally to community college leaders across the nation.
