Hôtels & Villas Selection AAIMHI Sponsor The ESSEC IMHI Center of Excellence in Hospitality, Food & Travel Dear Alumni, We are pleased to announce that IMHI is now one of the first five Centers of Excellence at ESSEC Business School. Alongside Hospitality, Food and Travel, four keys areas of expertise have also been identified to become the new ESSEC Centers of Excellence: Management and Society, Business Analytics, Luxury, and Entrepreneurship. The Center of Excellence in Hospitality, Food and Travel aims at further developing the ESSEC IMHI brand in these sectors and will be responsible for: - Developing partnerships with companies and schools - Administering existing programs and developing new educational solutions - Support academic and applied research - Manage Alumni relations Scope of the IMHI Center of Excellence The IMHI Center of Excellence will continue to manage and develop its current activities, but will also expand its portfolio in education, research and services to the Hospitality, Food and Travel industries. The scope of the Center will include: Initial education: IMHI MBA in Hospitality Management and development of a new Master in Food Business (likely in collaboration with another School). Continuing education: 10 existing modules leading to two Advanced Certificates, three internal programs with Accor, Kempinski and Louvre Hotels Group, and the development of a modular Executive Master's program. Open Lab: Supporting and accompanying start-ups from the ESSEC Ventures incubator and other industry-related innovative companies (e.g. Mama Street Bangkok, Till System and Touch and Play). The Open Lab will also develop new educational content (e.g. MOOC on Demand Management in collaboration with SnapShot). CHIEF: The "Collaborative Hub for Innovation, Education and Foresight" will provide three services: 1) A series of foresight

2 and policy reports on trends affecting hospitality, travel and food businesses (applied research and open lab); 2) A filtering system identifying potential innovations for hospitality, food and travel businesses (innovation days and open lab); 3) Educational and advisory services to instill innovation within corporations (boot camps, applied research, coaching). Research: Coordination and promotion of collaborative research efforts with other Hotel Schools and Universities. As the Center develops, we will make sure to keep you up-to-date and involved. Sincerely, Nicolas Graf, Ph.D. Associate Professor Director ESSEC-IMHI Center of Excellence in Hospitality, Food & Travel ESSEC Business School 2015 ESSEC Hospitality Executive Education We are pleased to confirm that the 2015 ESSEC Advanced Certificates in Hospitality Online Distribution and in Hospitality Finance & Real Estate, will take place at our Paris La Défense campus from 16 to 28 march Those two certificates are made up of four modules, which may also be taken separately by participants with specialized interests. Two additional modules are also available on a stand alone basis: Managing Change and Luxury Hospitality Management. Each module is from 1,5 to 3 days. These courses focus on the development needs of middle to senior-level operational and corporate managers. Click on the brochure to download a detail description of the Advanced Certificates and of each module, as well as short biographies of the professors. The 2014 Hospitality Executive Education short courses were a great success! 29 professionals participated in 8 short courses (2.5 days) over 2 weeks, of which 14 received an ESSEC Advanced Certificate in Hospitality Finance & Real Estate or Online Distribution. This year's short courses witnessed a great diversity of managerial profiles, including: Development, Asset Management, Consulting, Cluster GM, Design & Technical service, Revenue, E-commerce, Procurement, Communications, and Marketing. Industry Leader Conferences Nicolas Béliard - General Manager Pensinsula Paris - 12th November Thank you to Nicolas Béliard, GM of the Peninsula Paris, for speaking to IMHI students at last week's Industry Leader Conference. His honesty, humility, and soft-spoken demeanor were appreciated by the students and a welcome touch in our fast-paced industry. IMHI students enjoyed the opportunity to learn not only about the Peninsula Paris and the Peninsula Group, but also about Mr. Béliard's perspective on leadership. The conference was a great source of inspiration for students who will continue their careers in operations. A video of this conference will be going out by mid-december.

Please find aside a video of this conference where Mr Boinet explained firstly his professional choices: the way he met Mr Pélisson and Mr Dubrule back in 1988, why he left Accor in 2003 and came back 10 years after as Deputy CEO under the presidency of Sébastien Bazin. In the second part of his presentation Mr Boinet explained where Accor stands today and the latest trends of its development such as returning back on the Asset light policy and internal branding organization of its predecessors. David Le Bail H96 - Director - Investment & Development KAIZEN (KDC Limited) - 8th October Thanks to David Le Bail H96 for sharing so much insight about his strong expertise in real estate and more specifically in the Gulf region. David is managing the development of a large mixed use project in Jeddah (KSA) and leads a multi-disciplinary team of more than 15 consulting firms totaling more than 200 staff on this $3.7bn project. ESSEC Food Club 4th November 2014 The new ESSEC Food Club had a successful second event, at the newly-opened Burger King Alésia. Jocelyn Olive E05, Director General of Burger King, presented the revival of the Burger King brand, which has been absent in France for 15 years and whose come back is making a buzz. 20 new restaurants have already opened, with 60 expected by the end of The ESSEC Food Club was created on the initiative of Aurélie de Royer E10, Director of the Professional Training Centre of L'atelier des Chefs. Half of the event's participants were IMHIs, who all share the same passion for food in their professional life.

12 François GALOISY H85 has been promoted General Manager for the Radisson Blu Hotel at Sohar in the Sultanate of Oman. François is preparing the opening of the latest Radissonblu in the region. Prior to that François was the General Manager of the Radisson Blu Hotel in Dubai Media City and previously General Manager for the Park Inn by Radisson in Muscat. Prior to join Radisson, François has an extensive experience in F&B with leading hospitality groups like Swissôtel, One & Only, Shangri-La and Méridien. Pierre Marie VASSEUR H87 has been appointed General Manager of the Al Areen Palace & Spa in Bahrain. Prior to that Pierre Marie worked 6 years for the Grand Heritage Group in the Emirates including the last four years as General Manager. For the 10 first years of his careers Pierre Marie worked in various companies as Director of Sales & Marketing. Nathalie GACON H87 has taken new responsibilities, since August 2014, she is General Manager of the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel of Colombes. For two and half years Nathalie was General Manager of the Courtyard Saint Denis hotel, and spent 9 months managing 2 Courtyard hotels. This new assignment is a great challenge with many opportunities to grow the business. Madeleine PAULY MARX H87 has joined the Scandic Hotels chain as General manager for hotel Emporio in Hamburg. Prior to that Madeleine spent more than 10 years as General Manager in several Marriott properties in Hamburg. Sten CARLER H87 has been appointed Distribution Manager North Europe NOHA NORWAY AS. Noha is part of SK Firesafety Group. SK FireSafety Group specializes in the design, production, distribution, service and after-sale support of Fire Fighting Products and Projects. The company offers a range of equipment, including hose reel and cabinets, extinguishers, monitors, detection, deluge, foam and gaseous suppression systems and much more. The company's customers include oil and gas companies, airports, governmental, and military organizations worldwide. Christine BOE H89 has been promoted Divisional Finance Manager at DNV GL based in Oslo, Norway. DNV GL enables organizations to advance the safety and sustainability of their business. Kristin is working since 7 years for this company and prior to that worked at companies like Nemko Norway AS, PWC Consulting, TECO Maritime & Chrystal Cruises. Jean Louis GUILHAMAT H90 has been promoted Director of DTZ Consulting Advising pole for France. Jean Louis joined DTZ in 2013 after six years spent at CBRE as Director Global Corporate Services and previously 9 years with Accenture as Facilities & Services Director France Christophe DESCROIX H90 has been appointed Vice President of Finance Hotels Division at Sunwing Travel Group based in Toronto. Prior to that Christophe worked for 11 years with Melia Hotels from Director of Finance France up to Corporate Administration Vice President. Previously Christophe worked as CFO for Opteaman and Club Med World. Charles RICHEZ H91 has been appointed as General Manager for Hotel Gray D'albion Cannes Lucien Barrière Hotels & Casinos. Prior to that Charles has been working as General Manager at AC MARRIOTT Ambassadeur Juan les Pins & Director of Operation for JW MARRIOTT Cannes for during 7 years. Before joining Marriott for Charles acted as Director of Business Development Paris Cluster, Hilton International from 1998 to Olivier MENARD H95 has been promoted COO & CFO greater China for the Decathlon Oxylane Group. Olivier entered the group in 1998 after close to 3 years with Accor in Indonesia and since then has climbed the career ledder through Real Estate and Financial functions with the Decathlon Oxylane Group in various locations. Elodie MIYET H97 has been appointed Sales & Marketing Director Cheval Blanc St-Barth Isle de France. Elodie actually worked previously for the same hotel that was bought in 2013 by LVMH and close presently to be rebranded as Cheval Blanc St-Barth Isle de France. Reopening is planned for October Since her graduation Elodie left for St-Barth where she worked first at hôtel Guanahani & Spa and then at Hotel Saint-Barth Isle de France. Karim EL ASMAR H97 has recently opened Morenito Cantina del Barrío restaurant in Beirut. Morenito is a new concept targeted at offering a latin inspired original culinary experiences and destined for a multi-unit operation in the mid-range F&B sector. Karim is also founder of Neové (Neové is a boutique investment and business development consulting entity) and Hospitality Program Coordinator at Université Saint Joseph in Beirut. Prior to that Karim was co-founder and Managing partner for 7 years of Hodema (a regional consulting company based in Beirut, specialized in the hospitality, restaurant and real estate businesses). Christophe TANGUY H98 has been appointed Regional Director EMEA South, at Weber Stephen - Grill Academy. Prior to that Christophe was General Manager for Groupe Le Duff - Brioche Dorée in China. He has spent, so far, most of his career in the retail and restaurant industry.

Prior to that Pascal was General Manager of the hotel Belmond La Samanna in St martin for more than 4 years. Laurent BARELIER H99 has been appointed Director of Operations & Support MEA at Wyndham Hotels Group. Prior to that Laurent worked 7 years for Accor in the United Arab Emirates as Regional Revenue & Support Manager. Laurent began his career after his MBA in Hospitality at ESSEC with Optims, specialized Revenue Management company. Karim DJENAYAH H00 has been appointed as Director of Finance Marriott International (JW Marriott Absheron Baku) in Azerbaïdjan. Prior to that Karim was Director of Finance at Marriott International (Copenhagen Marriott Hotel) Denmark.Karim joined Marriott in 2003 as Director of Finance for Hotel Courtyard By Marriott Paris Neuilly, then, was Director of Finance for Marriott Vacation Club International, Marne la Vallée. Sébastien MARIETTE H01 was promoted to General Manager for the Kempinski Hotel Ishat Dear Sea in Jordany. Prior to that Sébastien was heading two hotels in China: Kempinski Hotel Wuxi and Kempinski Hotel Yixing which opened in January He started his career with Kempinski in Eastern Europe, followed by appointments in Africa and China. In November 2013 Sébastien Mariette received the trophy for the best General Manager in the luxury category at the 14th Worldwide Hospitality Awards ceremony. Prior to his MBA in Hospitality at ESSEC Sébastien worked 7 years at Disneyland Paris in Revenue / Marketing / General Manager EVE. Winoch BILLETTE H01 has been promoted Senior Vice President JLL's Hotels & Hospitality Group based in Paris; In charge of the French Hotel Advisory Department. Winoch joined JLL in 2007 as Associate and was promoted Vice President in Prior to that and from his graduation Winoch worked more than 6 years for Disneyland Paris as Project and Marketing Manager. Marc HENRIKSEN H01 has been appointed Partner at Midstar. Midstar is a hotel real estate investment and asset management company with international perspcetive focused on the Nordic region. Prior to that Marc worked 4 years as Investment Manager for Abu Dhabi Investment Authority and 9 years in various roles with acquisitions and development for IHG and Starwood Anne Laure BOULARD H01 has been appointed Internal Audit Manager for JJW France. Prior to that Anne Laure was Deputy Manager EMEA Internal Audit at ACCOR. Alice MICOLAU MAFAITY H01 has been promoted to Hotel Manager at Jumeirah Himalayas Hotel Shanghai. Alice started with this group as F&B Manager at Madinat Jumeirah Dubai and has held several positions within the Company. From 2001 to 2007 Alice worked for Hilton Worldwide as F&B Manager in Japan and Paris. Steve DELEFORTRIE H02 has been appointed General Manager for Hilton in the French Polynesia. Prior to that Steve spent 18 months as Operation Manager for W Hotels in Maldives. Vincent POULINGUE H02 has been promoted to General Manager for the Hotel Indigo Paris Opera from IHG to open in September 2014.Hotel Indigo Paris Opera is the first manage hotel Indigo in Europe for IHG and the first property in France. Prior to that Vincent was Executive Assistant Manager of InterContinental Paris Le Grand for one year and of the InterContinental Tahiti Resort for four years. Previously Vincent worked for the Groupe Lucien Barrière as Hotel Normandy Director finance and business support, and in other Lucien Barriere Property in La Baule and Deauville. Vikram MALHOTRA H03 has been appointed President South Asia & Middle East for Cygnett Hotels & Resorts. With a career spanning over 20 years in Hospitality and Consulting, Vikram has worked in both the Middle East and South Asian markets. Most recently Vikram served as the Vice President, Development South Asia for the Premier Inn Hotels. Prior to that Vikram was heading the Real Estate and Hospitality Advisory practice with KPMG in the Middle East. During his career Vikram had been proudly associated with leading hospitality groups like Oberoi, Carlson, and ITC group of hotels. Jean Marie GRAS H03 has been appointed as General Manager of Hôtel de Bourgtheroulde & Spa 5* Rouen affiliated Marriott Autograph Collection. Prior to that, Jean-Marie was General Manager for 6 years at Grand Hôtel Loreamar, St Jean de Luz. He staterd his career as General Manager of Anjajavy Resort 4* in Madagascar just after graduation, where he stayed for 3 years. Petter SVAETICHIN H03 has been promoted to CEO for JSC Marussia (Georgia) Petter started to work in this company in 2003 where he has held several positions. Georges SAFI H03 has been appointed Director of Food and Beverage for the opening of the Four Seasons Bahrain Bay.

14 Prior to that, Georges spent 3 years in Geneva as the Director of Food and Beverage of the Hotel President Wilson (a Starwood Luxury collection property). Before Geneva, Georges was Assistant Director of F&B at the renowned Ritz Paris for 6 years. This was his second position after graduating from IMHI since the first was the Four Seasons George V in Paris as well. Axel CHAPTAL H03 has been appointed as Senior Accountant at Synergix Geneva. Prior to that Axel was Front Office Manager at Mövenpcik Hotel Lausanne. Mélanie CARLE H03 has been promoted to Manager Corporate Controlling at Amadeus Madrid..She joined AMADEUS Madrid in 2010 as Senior Analyst Revenue Management for two years, and two other years as Senior Analyst, Corporate Controlling. Julie CHENEAU H04 has been promoted to Director Market Management Expedia Inc London.Prior to that Julie was Area Manager for the same Company. Maud DICK H04 has been appointed as General Manager for the newly opened 23-room boutique design Hôtel Des Galeries 4* in Brussels (Belgium) and the charming Hotel St-Christophe 3* in La Baule (France). Prior to that Maud was managing Nevaï and Kings Park hotels in Verbier (Switzerland) for two years. Xavier HALBI H04 has been promoted Director of Strategy of the Hyatt Regency Dubai & Galleria.
