According to the World Travel and Tourism Council - WTTC - travel and tourism demand is expected to grow by 4.3% over the next 10 years, and it forecasts that a quarter of a billion people will work in this industry by the end of the decade. 5 5 The IMHI MBA in International Hospitality Management One MBA: Two Tracks Why an MBA focusing on the hospitality industry? Business leaders need not only excellent analytical decision-making and value-adding skills; they also require in-depth insight into the industries in which they work. By focusing on hospitality, this MBA program enables participants to differentiate themselves in an increasingly competitive environment, thanks to their comprehensive understanding of this complex industry and solid grounding in core business disciplines. One MBA Two Tracks The IMHI MBA in International Hospitality Management is offered in an innovative two track format, designed to meet the changing needs of industry and of professionals seeking to fast track or redirect their careers. Whilst the formats of the two tracks are different, their content, learning objectives and final qualification are the same. The One Year Track is designed for professionals who already have experience in the hospitality sector and would benefit most from a shorter, more intensive approach. The Two Year Track is aimed at candidates with less experience who wish to integrate additional professional experience into their study program as they develop their knowledge of core business subjects. IMHI trains the managers of tomorrow: men and women gifted with the ability to fit in, communicate and relate with others both professionally and in society generally. Their training enables them to respond quickly and efficiently in an environment where adaptability is at a premium. A Strategic Approach to Hospitality Management Hospitality Accounting Business Computing Services Marketing Applied Research Methods Managing Organizations Corporate Finance Managing People Information Systems Management Strategic Management Strategic Marketing Concentrations Participants select one out of five concentrations*: Luxury Services Management: Developed in collaboration with the ESSEC MBA in International Luxury Brand Management, this concentration focuses on brand management in the luxury sector. E-Commerce: In today s digital world, travel is one of the top products sold on-line. This concentration focuses on developing the skills and competencies necessary to work in this highly complex field. Real Estate and Development: The increasingly financial nature of the hospitality business and the growing importance of the position of property managers in corporate strategy both give rise to new challenges in the real estate sector. Entrepreneurship: Developed in collaboration with ESSEC New Business Center, this concentration provides the tools and support for participants interested in developing their own project or company. General Manager Track: Designed to provide participants with the cross-functional skills and competencies needed to become a hotel general manager, this portfolio of courses focuses on cutting edge hotel operations and Food & Beverage issues. The Industry Consultancy Project This group exercise, carried out at the end of the program, combines knowledge acquired during the program with a real-world, challenging business situation. It is carried out full time for two months by teams drawn from different concentrations and is supervised by a Faculty member and a Company Executive. Internships Supervised internships give participants the opportunity to gain in-depth work experience, improve their language skills and increase their ability to apply theoretical knowledge to real-life situations. The internship period lasts for seven months. Apprenticeship program The apprenticeship program enables selected participants to gain professional experience in synergy with their academic studies. It is open only to participants under the age of 26. Partner companies pay the tuition fees of their apprentices, who in addition receive compensation based on a percentage of the French minimum wage, in return for working with the company throughout their studies. This is an ideal way for qualified applicants to finance their studies while at the same time building a valuable portfolio of professional experience. The apprenticeship scheme is also open to international students. However, a good knowledge of French is compulsory to secure an apprenticeship contract as all apprenticeships take place in or around Paris. * Subject to change.

Individual counseling, seminars on job search techniques and career orientation, interview simulation exercises, recruitment sessions and CV Book distribution are some of the ways in which we help participants achieve their career goals. The Careers Advisory Service also has close links with Alumni and industry to increase participants' understanding of the current job market and to help them develop a good network. 14 14 Participant profiles Profile of a participant on the One Year Track The One Year Track has been designed for individuals who already have at least three years of professional experience. These individ-uals may be taking a sabbatical year to further their education, possibly with the support of their employer. Candidates for this stream are able to demonstrate a level of maturity and high motivation compatible with the workload of an intensive program. They are between 26 and 40 years old. The One Year Track program also makes assumptions regarding the prior knowledge of its partic-ipants. To qualify for the one year MBA program, candidates need to have prerequisite knowledge in certain core business disciplines. Profile of a participant on the Two Year Track Candidates applying for the Two Year Track are typically between 22 and 28 years old, with at least one year of professional work exper-ience in the hospitality industry. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to integrate additional work experience into their study program, and gain exposure to particular firms or job functions as part of their studies. The Two Year Track allows them to achieve this either through the apprenticeship scheme or through internships integrated into their course work.
