There will be a news announcement each morning covering the dangers of drugs and ways to be The best me is drug-free News Announcement: Dangers of Drugs and why The best me is drug-free, stressing the dangers of drugs: criminal, risk of injury and overdose, etc. News Announcement: Family During dinner, turn off the TV and phone. Have a family movie or DVD night. Play a board game or a sport together. Most important, talk and communicate. News Announcement: Friends, how can we help one another? We want to protect our friends and we look to them for support. But there may come a time, when one of your friends starts to experiment with drugs. You might feel a loyalty to your friend and not want to tell anyone what they are doing. Ask yourself these important questions. Will that help your friend? Will helping them hide their drug usage help them? What if they encourage you to try drugs? Would you? Would you feel pressured? Would you say yes or no? Mentally preparing yourself for these possibilities is one way in which you can protect and help yourself and your friends. This is called mind-setting. Mentally visualize yourself in a situation where you are faced with a drug issue and mentally prepare yourself and rehearse what you would/would not do and what you would say to them. Another way is to know who you can turn to for help. This lunchtime there will be flyers left on the cafeteria tables, listing questions and highlighting places and organizations that can help you or a friend deal with drug issues.
