In order to sustain this process, KenGen is seeking to recruit competent professional in various areas on Permanent and Contract Terms of Service. 1) Drilling Engineer -1 post Ref/HR/BDS/GRD/01/03/13- ( Contract) Reporting to Chief Drilling Operations Officer, duties and responsibilities include provision of drilling engineering services during well drilling operations, procuring drilling materials, tools and equipment, ensuring safety of the rig and personnel, preparing drilling programs and coordination and supervision of drilling operations to ensure timely completion of wells and within budget. Bachelor of Science in Mechatronics Engineering Second Class Honors A minimum of 1 year experience in engineering functions 2) Driller (3 posts) Ref/HR/BDS/GRD/02/03/13- ( Contract) Reporting to the Drilling Supervisor, duties and responsibilities drilling of geothermal wells using computerized electric land rigs with a draw-works rating of 2000HP. Suitable candidate should be holder of KCSE certificate of at least C plain or equivalent, National Trade Test in Mechanical, 2 years experience in drilling Experience as a Floorman/ Derrickman/Driller. 1

2 3) Derrick man (6 posts) Ref/HR/BDS/GRD/03/03/13- ( Contract) Reporting to Driller, duties and responsibilities include: working in the derrick to safely and efficiently assist the Driller in drilling of geothermal wells. Suitable candidate should be holder of KCSE certificate of at least C plain or equivalent, National Trade Test in Mechanical, 2 years experience in drilling Experience as a Floor man / Derrick man. 4) Rig floor man (45 posts) Ref/HR/BDS/GRD/04/03/13- ( Contract) Reporting to Derrickman, duties and responsibilities include working on the rig floor assisting the Derrickman during drilling Suitable candidate should be holder of KCSE certificate of at least C plain or equivalent, National Trade Test in Mechanical Engineering, A minimum of 1 year experience in drilling operations. 5) Technician (Air Compressor) (13 posts) Ref/HR/BDS/GRD/05/03/13 - (Contract) Reporting to Drilling Fluid Engineer, duties and responsibilities involves operating and maintaining high output primary compressors and high pressure boosters (aerated drilling equipment) during geothermal drilling operations. Diploma in Mechanical / Mechatronics/ Electrical Engineering A minimum of 1 year experience in engineering function. 2

3 6) Craftsman (Cementing, Logistics, Infrastructure, Reservoir, Steamfield, Water Supply & Central Workshop)- 49 posts Ref/HR/BDS/GRD/06/03/13- (Contract) Reporting to the Duty Technician, duties and responsibilities involves handling of cementing equipment, high pressure water pumps, steam systems, earthmoving equipment, mobile cranes and forklifts. Suitable candidate should be holder of KCSE certificate of at least C plain or equivalent, National Trade Test in Mechanical A minimum of 1 year experience engineering function. 7) Technician, Rig Welder (3 posts) Ref/HR/BDS/GRD/07/03/13- (Contract) Reporting to Rig Maintenance Engineer, duties and responsibilities include welding specialized high pressure\ temperature pipelines, repairs and maintenance of drilling, water supply equipment and mobile earth moving and heavy trucking equipment. Suitable candidate should be holder of a Diploma in mechanical engineering National Trade Test (Welding and general fitting) A minimum of 2 years experience in specialized welding, TIG, MIG, Gas welding and Fitting. 8) Technician (Plant Auto, Electrical) (3 posts) Ref/HR/BDS/GRD/08/03/13- (Contract) Reporting to Electrical Engineer, duties and responsibilities include repairing and maintaining auto electrical facilities, drilling mobile earth moving and heavy trucking equipment. Suitable candidate should be holder of a Diploma in Electrical engineering 3

4 National Trade Test (Plant Auto Electrical) A minimum of 1 years experience in Plant Auto Electrical function. 9) Crane/Forklift Operator (2 posts) Ref/HR/BDS/GRD/09/03/13- (Contract) Reporting to the Drilling Logistics Supervisor, duties and responsibilities involves operating various cranes & forklifts. Suitable candidate should be holder of KCSE certificate of at least C grade or equivalent A minimum of 2 years experience in cranes/forklifts operation. 10) Mechanical Maintenance Technician (Central workshop & Infrastructure) - (7 posts) Ref/HR/BDS/GRD/10/03/13- (Contract) Reporting to Rig Maintenance Engineer, duties and responsibilities include maintenance of the rig and its auxiliary equipment. Diploma in Mechanical/Mechatronic Engineering A minimum of 1 year experience in engineering function. 11) Mechanical Maintenance Technician (Rig Maintenance) - (6 posts) Ref/HR/BDS/GRD/11/03/13- (Contract) Reporting to Rig Maintenance Engineer, duties and responsibilities include maintenance of the rig and its auxiliary equipment. Diploma in Mechanical Engineering A minimum of 1 year experience in engineering function. 4

5 12) Mechatronics/ Electromechanical Technician (Rig Maintenance) (9 posts) Ref/HR/BDS/GRD/12/03/13- (Contract) Reporting to Mechatronics Engineer, duties and responsibilities include repairing and maintaining Electro-Mechanical facilities (plant, protection equipment and instrumentation) at the drilling rig. Diploma in Mechatronics, Electrical or Instruments Engineering A minimum of 1 year experience in engineering function. 13) Electronics Technicians (Central Workshop) (3 posts) Ref/HR/BDS/GRD/13/03/13- (Contract) Reporting to Mechatronics Engineer, duties and responsibilities include repairing and maintaining Electro-Mechanical facilities (plant, protection equipment and instrumentation) at the drilling rig. Diploma in Mechatronics, Electrical or Instruments Engineering A minimum of 1 year experience in engineering function. 14) Mechatronics Technicians (Central Workshop) (3 posts) Ref/HR/BDS/GRD/14/03/13- (Contract) Reporting to Electrical Engineer Central workshop, duties and responsibilities include repairing and maintaining electrical facilities for Electric Drilling Rigs, heavy mobile plants Auto-electricals and water supply system. Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering 5

6 A minimum of 1 year experience in engineering function. 15) Roustabout (20 posts) Ref/HR/BDS/GRD/15/03/13- (Contract) Duties and responsibilities include offloading drilling materials at the rig site, preparing drill strings and casing before they are run in the hole and assisting Rig floor man in drilling activities by servicing and cleaning drilling equipments. This position will be on a 3 years renewable contract. Suitable candidate should be holder of KCSE certificate A certificate in National Trade test will be an added advantage 16) Technical Operator- Water Supply (4 posts) Ref/HR/BDS/GRD/16/03/13- (Contract) Reporting to Maintenance superintendent water supply, duties and responsibilities include operating water pumping equipments. Diploma in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering A minimum of 1 years experience in engineering function. 17) Rig Camp Facilities Manager (1 Post) Ref/HR/BDS/GRD/17/03/13- (Contract) Reporting to the Chief Drilling Operations Officer, duties and responsibilities include supervision and management of catering, cleaning, laundry and fumigation services contract offered by contractors during well drilling operations. A minimum of Degree in Hospitality management/ 6

7 A minimum of 3 years experience hotel management 18) Rig Camp Attendants (6 Post) Ref/HR/BDS/GRD/18/03/13- (Contract) Reporting to Rig Camp Facilities Coordinator, duties and responsibilities include ensuring general cleanliness of the rig camp and cleanliness of rooms at the rig camp, and provision of laundry services. KCSE Certificate in House keeping A minimum of 2 year experience in housekeeping function 19. Geologists (9 Posts) Ref/HR/BDS/GRD/19/03/13- (Contract) Reporting to the Chief Geologist, duties and responsibilities include surface and downhole data acquisition, Analysis and interpretation. Bachelor of Science (Geology) or equivalent. Ms Office proficiency. Good Leadership, interpersonal and analytical skills Postgraduate UNU training in geothermal technology, Knowledge and skills in Computer Programming, or a Master of Science in Borehole Geology, Petrology, Volcanology and Structural Geology or a minimum of 2 years experience in geology work. 20. Geochemists (1 Post) Ref/HR/BDS/GRD/20/03/13- (Contract) Reporting to the Chief Geochemist, duties and responsibilities include resource exploration, reservoir monitoring, report writing, management of Geochemistry laboratory, development of conceptual models, and supervision of data acquisition, analysis and interpretation. 7

Civil Technicians (9 posts) Ref/HR/BDS/GRD/21/03/13- (Contract) Reporting to Geothermal Infrastructure Civil Engineer, duties and responsibilities of the position holder include, on-site supervision of civil works and construction and ensuring that all engineering standard procedures, safety and materials have been used during implementation of geothermal projects. : Diploma in Civil Engineering Ms Office proficiency Good Leadership, interpersonal and analytical skills He/ She must be MS Office proficiency. Reservoir Management Technician - Mechanical (9 posts) Ref/HR/BDS/GRD/23/03/13- (Contract) Reporting to Reservoir Engineer, duties and responsibilities include coordination and supervision of reservoir crews, well data acquisition and reservoir production monitoring. Diploma in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering Ms Office proficiency Good Leadership, interpersonal and analytical skills A minimum of 1 years experience in engineering function. 24. Analytical Chemistry Technicians (38 posts) Ref/HR/BDS/GRD/25/03/13- (Contract) Reporting to the Geologist/Geochemist, duties and responsibilities include geochemical and geological data acquisition and analysis. The jobholder will also be involved in geothermal exploration. Diploma in Analytical Chemistry/Lab technology MS Office proficiency. A minimum of 1 year experience in Analytical Chemistry work. 26. Plant Operator (Infrastructure, Reservoir) - (25 posts) Ref/HR/BDS/GRD/26/03/13 - (Contract). Reporting to the Duty Technician, duties and responsibilities include operation of heavy duty infrastructure equipment including, among others, bulldozers, excavators, graders, rollers, cranes, and wheelloaders on a 3 years renewable contract. Certificate in Heavy Plant Operations from Ministry of Roads/ KIHBT or equivalent A minimum of 1 years experience in operation of heavy equipment. 10

11 27. Heavy Commercial Operators/Drivers (Drilling Operation, Water Supply, Steam field, and Logistics) (14 Posts) Ref/HR/BDS/GRD/27/03/13 - (Contract). Reporting to the Head Driver, duties and responsibilities include transporting materials, equipment and staff to places of work and performing other duties which will be assigned to him/ her O Level Certificate Valid Driving Licence of Class A,B,C,E Certificate of Good Conduct Good Interpersonal Skills A minimum 3 years experience in accident free driving. 28. Reservoir Modeling Engineer/Scientist (1 post) Ref/HR/BDS/GRD/28/03/13- (Permanent) Reporting to the Chief Reservoir Management Officer, responsibilities include reservoir Assessment, System design & development and reservoir performance predictions, modeling & simulation : Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering /Mathematics/Physics Computer Programming, experience in mathematical/numerical modeling. 11

Environmental Officer (Natural Resources & Waste Management) (1 post) Ref/HR/BDS/GRD/30/03/13 - (Contract) Reporting to Chief Environment, Quality and Liaison Officer, duties and responsibilities include waste management (Solid waste, Effluent, measurement and monitoring of elements of environmental significance) Bachelor of Science (Natural Resource Management) MS Office proficiency A minimum of 2 years experience in Natural Resource Management work. 12

Diploma in Environmental Science (Natural Resource Management) with a credit pass. He/ She must be MS Office proficiency A minimum of 2 years experience in natural Resource Management work. 32. Exploration Geologists (6 Posts) Ref/HR/BDS/GRD/32/03/13- (Contract) Reporting to the Chief Resource Assessment and Development Officer, duties and responsibilities include surface and downhole data acquisition, Analysis and interpretation. Geophysics Technicians (15 posts) Ref/HR/BDS/GRD/34/03/13- (Contract) Reporting to Chief Geophysicist, duties and responsibilities include repairing and maintaining Electro-Mechanical equipment Diploma in Mechatronics, Electrical/electronics or Instruments Engineering A degree in Mechatronics/ Electrical/electronics or Instruments Engineering. 35. GIS Technicians (5 posts) Ref/HR/BDS/GRD/35/03/13 - (Contract) Reporting to the Senior Geomaticist, duties and responsibilities include collection of geospatial and non spatial data, inputting of GIS data into database and maintenance of GIS database. 14
