6 10 11 STDT SWISSTACTICAL DEFENCE TECHNIC BASIC COURSE FOR PUBLIC AUTHORITIES AND PRIVATE SECURITY TRAINING CURRICULUM (PRESUMPTION: 1 WEEK / MAX. 12 TRAINEES / 2 TRAINERS TEAMS OF 2, INTERCHANGEABLE ROLES DURING TRAINING) TARGET GROUP: This concept is designed to address the needs of persons (i.e. security guards, police officers / Security Officers) with an average level of physical fitness for law enforcement operations and some basic training in arrest techniques (not mandatory). Special needs according the assignments of the participants can be included at any time. INTRODUCTION: This document is to describe the content and the methodology to provide students (especially security guards & police officers) with the necessary knowledge and capability to use the SwissTactical Defence Technic for both as a tool for personal self defense and for law enforcement arrest operations. SwissTactical Defence Technic has been developed by experienced persons during insurgency and covert wars. The aim was to provide the members of the different armed groups and security services with the necessary competency in hand-to-hand combat for self defense situations. While developed constantly, SwissTactical Defence Technic was adopted by various security forces all over the world including law enforcement agencies. The founders integrated simple and easy-tolearn techniques from different martial arts into a comprehensive system which is still open for further developments. The focus was given to principles and techniques with the maximum effectiveness while having limited time to learn and practice. As principles there are: Simplicity of techniques; Ready-to-use at any given time in all conditions/environments; Simultaneity of defense and counter-attack whenever possible; Conclude the defense technique in best extend to avoid another attack The principles of SwissTactical Defence Technic makes it possible to adopt the techniques according the needs and type of operation of the user group. Nowadays, military personnel, law enforcement, private security and civilians are practicing the same SwissTactical Defence basic techniques but having it adjusted to the specific needs of each user group. Know the main principles of the SwissTactical Defence Technic system; Know the historical background of the SwissTactical Defence Technic system; Are familiar with the Swiss Tactical Defence Technique stance, positions, strategies and tactics; Have an enhanced strength and agility in hand-to-hand combat situations; Have an increased capacity in quick reactions and physical fitness; Know the chances, risks and limits of both, the personal skills and the self defense techniques at all; Know the basic defense techniques against attacks like: Unarmed attacks: punches, kicks; Unarmed attacks: grapping, holding the throat, the head, the body, the hands; Armed attacks with knives, other sharp-edged instruments (needles, bottles, machetes) Armed attacks with sticks, batons other long-bar instruments; Attacks/threats with firearms (long- and short-barrel) from close/short distance; Know how to react on attacks toward other (third) persons; Know how to use de-escalation techniques in dangerous/threatening situations; Know how to combine (police-) equipment (batons, PR-24, self-defense sprays, personal side-arm) with Special Defence Technic techniques; Know how to apply Special Defence techniques in law enforcement arrest operations; Know the basic tactical principles in situations with groups of multiple attackers; EQUIPMENT NEEDS: Comfortable clothes, service boots, teeth protection, Groin protection, shin protection, boxing gloves, chest protection. Trained dogs have been used by most of the world s military forces since the first military units were organized. From these ancient beginnings, the MWD s training has been continuously refined to produce a highly sophisticated and versatile extension of the soldier s own senses. Even the most complex machines remain unable to duplicate the operational effectiveness of a properly trained MWD. The MWD s unique capabilities are used by the military police (MP) and public authorities (Law Enforcement Agencies) to:a. Secure installation and property.b. Help enforce military laws and regulations.c. Increase the effectiveness of the combat support provided by the MP / LEA.
